I looked up, my frightened gaze meeting the menacing cloud above. I could sense his evil presence faintly in the distance. How long did I have? 2 minutes? He could come any second now. That was all the motivation I needed. I throw my bag over my shoulders and ran. I could hear the thundering of his footsteps getting closer and closer. He was gaining on me. I looked behind me, but soon wished I hadn’t. He was closer than I realised. I swerved into an alleyway, hoping he wouldn’t follow. He did. I ran to the other side, but one of his dogs stood there, barking like a maniac. The buildings were to close together to slip past, even for my slim body. My chances of escape were low, but there was someone who could turn the tides. No. I had to face him head on. I turned around. He wasn’t as tall as I realised. Only about 2 metres tall. He had smoke wreathing around him. “So,” he drawled “What is a little nuisance like you going to do against an undefeatable King Of Darkness like me?” “I know your name,” I replied, hoping I sounded braver than I thought.“Oh do you? Well, let’s forget that, shall we?” He said sweetly.Immediately dark tendrils started digging in to my mind, like shovels scooping from my mind.It’s time. Just say it to his face, Marion. “Y-your name is Necanta!” I screamed as loud as I could.He had disappeared. It was just another one of his puppets I thought.
