Yeah, that part is true Anya. My wife is a SAH mom, but I joke with her that fighting with the school to actually apply the IEP is a full time job. Not all parents have the capacity or the stamina to go to battle like that. Some school districts are worse than others. We moved from our last district because their policy was to force everything through the court system in the hopes that the parents just won't have the money to fight for what their kids are entitled to. Having ADHD is hard enough, and then the systems they put in place to "help" often require you to be a constantly vigilant self-advocate, which would be a lot easier to do if you don't have ADHD. If I weren't an atheist I'd be praying for you. Best I can offer is a virtual hug. I'm really sorry you're going through this.

Not sure what country you live in, but in the US you can get an IEP. ADHD is recognized by the dept of education, the school has to provide assistance to you if you have a diagnosis.

I'm so sorry. Anxiety is very much real for kids and it's great that the people who say it isn't don't have it obviously. ADHD is also very much real. My best friend has it and we can both tell the difference of when it's worse and better vs when she takes her meds
