The second photo, in a lot of scenarios, is still, “my body, my choice”. I myself dress like that. I *want* to dress like that. Majority of Muslim women in Western countries enjoy dressing like that. I understand that women in countries like Afghanistan and Iran aren’t given a choice. However, they’re being hyperfocused on to represent the entire Muslim female population. Yes, raise awareness about their horrible situation, but understand that, by choice, 99.9% of the Muslim women you see walking down the street in an abaya or hijab etc. have chosen to wear it and don’t need your rescuing.

I was thinking you were planning something dual after graduation which would shorten things. Take your time! Take classes in lots of subjects. I am a doctor and glad of all the classes I took that were not needed for med school. Is your book anywhere online?

Wrong. I use the cart to get around. I try to park close to a lonely cart and use it to get in. Reading this though, makes me realize I can collect a couple extra carts after I unload, then return them, keeping one if I am parked far from a return.

Re-read his note. What does a placard have to do with it? I have one but often do not use it because, with a cart I can get around just fine. In many places the cart returns are few and spaced out. I have some difficulty getting from my car to the nearest cart, but I can lean on the cart. After shopping I may be tired (which means more pain.) and may choose to leave the cart (agains a pole or with a wheel in a hole so it will not roll away.) And I would not want to leave children in the car to take the cart back. I would never block a path or leave it in a handicap spot.

And with severe pain he should put the baby in a car seat, unload groceries, then pick the baby up again…and then carry the baby back to the car WITHOUT using the cart! If I left the baby in the car I may not make it back. And getting groceries delivered is much more expensive, even when free. (I did it once, cannot shop for sales and ended up with 12 large stalks of broccoli, and 4 brussel sprouts. 🤔 But I came out OK financially because I got a whole salmon instead of a single filet for the same price.) I would NEVER block a handicapped space like the picture shows. Sometimes a parking lot can feel like a very long hike!

Walmart is also to blame. They have an insufficient number of cart stalls and they don’t have frequent cart collections. My local Walmart has stalls every other parking aisle and are always overflowing with carts. Sometimes, it’s safer to park carts on the sidewalk because the overflowing stalls block the roadway or roll off into a car. Plus, when it’s a 110F degrees outside, it’s not safe to leave my infant and toddler in the car while I walk out of eyesight to return my cart. Long story short, the picture above could be avoided if Walmart added more cart stalls and had employees collect carts more frequently.

I, too am in a chair (I am also blind) and I am always upset when people don't "see" me and will actually collide with me and then will yell at me as if I did something to them. Once, some drunk guy literally sat on my lap and was upset when my husband shoved him off me. What on earth is wrong with people? I have also had people lean on the back of my chair or get mad when I am in the handicapped bathroom stall because they have a child with them. I get it - I had 2 kids with 20 months between them, but I literally have no choice regarding what bathroom stall I can fit in.

I totally get what you are saying! It is frustrating and a DB move when able bodied people do this . Not everyone who does this is lazy or meaning to be discourteous. People with infants can't leave baby in the car to return the cart and sometimes they can't leave baby in the cart while they transfer groceries to the car. Then, there are folks like me that struggle to walk or have debilitating pain when walking. Those people may be physically unable to return the cart. It has become a rare thing that workers are able to assist mothers and mobility challenged out with their purchases.
