agreed, they can be pains, but they are fluffy cuddle pains-
Load More Replies...We lost my 8 month old cat Scribby yesterday morning at 7 am due to latent health complications that we had discovered was passed on at birth. The next one closest in age is my 2 yr old boy Dust Bunny, from the day she came into the house at 6 weeks old after we rescued her he completely latched on to her. Scribby was his playmate, best friend and little sister and they were inseparable. He has been running all over the house meowing and looking for her. We are all so heartbroken over losing her including Bunny. My cat Tiger belonged to my Mom and he almost died after she passed away. He would look for her and meow and cry. He stopped eating, drinking and would only sleep in my Mom's chair or her pillow on her bed. Anyone that says Cat's don't have feeling or emotions are ignorant a******s because they grieve and hurt just like us.
Hugs to you and mousie toys to Dust Bunny.
Load More Replies...So incredibly sweet. One act of kindness can blossom in something truly beautiful.
years of me and everyone i know using this as a crying laughing emoji have ruined me
Load More Replies...Some days, it might feel like the Internet is a room full of people constantly yelling at each other. Whether it's news, entertainment, or social media in general, things seem to make people pretty angry all the time. And everyone hurries to express their opinion on any given thing. All that online noise can become irritating as time goes by. You might start to think then, just as Bo Burnham said in his 2021 (comedy?) special, Inside: "Can anyone shut the f*** up?"
That's why it's important this negative content doesn't drown out the good things that are happening in the world. Whether they're big good news stories or just simple everyday acts of kindness. Why exactly is it important? We asked licensed Psychologist Dr. Nathan Brandon to explain why being constantly bombarded with bad news is not so good for our well-being. He says that the positive content helps do just that – balance out the negativity we see or experience every day.
My husband and I own a pest control company, and there are a couple people in similar situations for whom he has done kindnesses like that. He’s done extra stuff for them, like small repairs or clear outs they’re unable to do themselves anymore. I’ll also remind him to swing by and check on them if he’s in the neighborhood. You’d have to be a pretty hard and miserable a*****e not to help out if you’re able to, ffs. Not to mention that the more willing you are to help people, or just simply cut them a break when they need it most, the more willing someone will be to do the same for you when you need help. You know, you reap what you sow.
Please give yourself & your husband extra hugs. Discover card sued my mom for defaulting on her credit card. She was indigent & on hospice. She passed a week later.
Load More Replies...Yeah this is from awhile back, and it still catches me in the feels every time.
I upvote this on whatever platform it shows up on, more people need to do this, being kind to others and showing empathy.
I need to be reminded like this that there are plenty of kind people in our world.
You gotta do what you gotta do. There is absolutely no shame in honest work and you can tell anyone who disagrees to fu¢k directly off and I'll be standing next to you if I can! Starting over is difficult and quite humbling, but grabbing an honest job by the short and curlies is exactly how you begin to get back on track. Don't know if you'll ever see this, but I'm here applauding you!
When I reach to pet my cat in the dark, after waking from a nightmare, he chirps to let me know where he is on the bed. Cats are capable of love and empathy. He knows I can't see, and he wants to be there for me. ❤️
to anybody wondering how they typed this if they are blind they could have used text to speech, also most people who are blind dont actually see all black and its usually just parts of your vision that is obstructed
I didn't even think about it, but thanks for explaining.
Load More Replies...I think if my cat was blind I would run into her less often haha. She intentionally runs right in front of us as we're walking. Silly kitty.
XD mine tries to trn me down too! Swear he does it in the hopes itll bed ridden me so i never leave the house again xD
Load More Replies...Wait....How did they type this? (DON'T DOWN VOTE I'M GENUINELY CURIOUS)
Some blind people have braille keyboards and watches. This also goes with automatic text to speech! :)
Load More Replies...Neither my cat or I are blind (yet) but we do the opposite. When I approach I say, "I see you" and that is her her signal that she doesn't have to move. While I don't believe she understands the exact words it is obvious she understands that if I am talking to her it means I see her there and am not going to step on her. She reacts differently depending on if I do or don't say anything to her.
I love the use of chirp in reference to a cat, it's an unappreciated cat noise. My cat used to chirp and it literally sounded like a pigeon and I had no idea what to call it.
"Engaging with wholesome or positive content online nurtures our psychological health by providing a sense of balance and perspective amidst all the negativity," Dr. Brandon told Bored Panda. "Our brains have a negativity bias, which means we tend to focus more on negative information and experiences. Therefore, regularly consuming positive content helps counteract this bias and promote a more optimistic outlook."
Dr. Brandon says that seeing positive content online can help us appreciate the beauty in everyday moments more, and it promotes themes of empathy and kindness at the same time. "[It] can elevate our mood, encourage positive thinking, and even inspire us to engage in acts of kindness ourselves," the licensed psychologist observes.
Anyone want to guess how far this bill's made it 3 years later in a republican state legislature? Texas found a way legislatively, to float razor wire across the Rio grande and eviscerate women's rights in a matter of months, but the above bill hasn't even been in committee (step 2 after above introduction).
(As of March 2, 2023) As part of President Biden’s historic Inflation Reduction Act, nearly four million seniors on Medicare with diabetes started to see their insulin costs capped at $35 per month this past January, saving some seniors hundreds of dollars for a month’s supply. But in his State of the Union, President Biden made clear that this life-saving benefit should apply to everyone, not just Medicare beneficiaries. This week, Eli Lilly, the largest manufacturer of insulin in the United States is lowering their prices and meeting that call. Eli Lilly announced they are lowering the cost of insulin by 70% and capping what patients pay out-of-pocket for insulin at $35. This action, driven by the momentum from the Inflation Reduction Act, could benefit millions of Americans with diabetes in all fifty states and U.S. territories. The President continues to call on Congress to finish the job and cap costs at $35 for all Americans.
And if we changed 1 paragraph of US Law it would be $10-12, but no one in DC wants to fix the real issue and we are left with states doing bandaid repairs like this. Read Professor Robin Feldman's book D**g Wars to better understand why d**g prices are so high in US, and how simple it would be to fix it.
Can I share something I learned recently? Insulin is dependent on refrigeration. So when the power goes out or a natural disaster knocks out utilities for an extended period, people who are insulin dependent can be in a real pickle. And it can’t be frozen, so you can’t just stock pile a ton to defrost later. Anyway. The more you know. 🫤
this is what the world needs more, people who has been through the tough times to take charge and change the world for the better
I don't have a source to cite because I don't remember where I learned this but didn't the person who invented insulin injections make the patent publicly available and want it to be free and accessible, and then his estate went behind his back and sold it to pharmaceutical companies?
It is so hard to describe. I was raised in foster care most of my childhood, and now I’m in an apartment that I’ve furnished myself. White goods, furniture, everything!

F**K CANCER!!!!! I never got to ring the bell because my last round of chemo was cancelled. But fist bumps to all the cancer survivors out there! We are strong!
This showed up on my twitter feed...needless to say I reposted so even MORE people could like and share it! :)
You did it! Something to be proud of for sure. My husband is undergoing treatment for lung cancer. Cancer sucks for sure for the patient and their loved ones, family and friends. Pray that you are cancer free soon! You got this!
AWW, good to hear and you now have more people following you on Twitter - X💖
Nowadays, we spend our days glued to the screen. Whether it's a computer at work, a smartphone at lunch, or a television in the evening, we're almost always online. At least that's what 28% of adult Americans told the Pew Research Center in 2019. Many of us would like to do something about it, but talking is always easier than doing it, right? Dr. Nathan Brandon says that people should try to curate their online experience.
Awww, this is so incredibly sweet. Blood, plasma, bone marrow and organ donors save so many lives.
I would 100% assume he was about to bludgeon me as soon as I turn my head and therefore would ignore anything that wasn't "watch out, a polar bear is about to attack you!"
I had a similar experience when a truck driver I don’t know pulled up beside me after some loud naval jets roared over our heads, and he said to me all excited, “holy F did you see that!” I smiled tears because my brother was a former naval jet pilot.
"For individuals who find the online environment overwhelming or distressing, it's crucial to adopt strategies that safeguard mental health while enabling them to benefit from the digital world," Dr. Brandon tells Bored Panda. He advises people to consciously pick and choose who they're following.
"Follow accounts that align with your values and [unfollow] toxic or triggering content," he says. "It can also be beneficial to turn off notifications for news stories that may create anxiety so you can read them when you're ready rather than being bombarded with them throughout the day."
I'm helping care for my grandma now. Sometimes she knows me. More often she only knows I'm hers.
I remember being so heartbroken the day my mother forgot me. Almost 6 months later, she just looked up at me while I sat with her at the hospital and said "oh sweetie, there you are. I missed you." She passed in her sleep a few days later, but man, I remember just the love and joy in her eyes when she said those words. I still carry that day with me, and hope I never forget it.
That's my mother-in-law... she says: I don't know who you are, but I know that I like you. :)
And it doesn't matter if it was true or not, it's what she needed to hear. Gaiman is the author equivalent of Keanu Reeves.
Load More Replies...It always breaks my heart when I see an author at a book signing with no one in line. One time I saw a holocaust survivor who was signing his autobiography about his time in a concentration camp and the loss of his entire family. No one was in line. I talked to him for a good while about his book and the horrors he experienced. I bought his book and he signed it. He told me that he didn't want me to keep the book. That when I was done with it to give it to someone with the instructions that they give it to someone else when they were done. He said that he didn't want the story to sit on a shelf forgotten but rather that it reach as many people as possible. I did as he asked.
What is the name of the author and the book? You can pass it on to multiple people, I will read his book too
Load More Replies...Terry left us with so many wonderful people and places to explore. There's a huge readership out there who have laughed, been amazed, gasped, and groaned while reading Sir Terry's creations that I believe he will never be truly dead. GNU Terry Pratchett.
Load More Replies...I absolutely believe Neil's anecdote, Good Omens was his first novel, and although Terry had started on the Discworld series in the early 80s and he was very popular in the UK by 1990, the series hadn't really caught on in the US yet. I can definitely see these two very wonderful, very British authors sitting in a completely empty and quiet bookstore in bustling Manhattan nearly passing out from awkwardness.
Those stories always tear me up. I was a super shy social anxiety disorder kid so I avoided parties for myself. I can't imagine how much it would hurt to have no one show up to my party
Reminds me of when no one showed up at Spinal Tap's 'Smell the Glove' album release.
i taught my dog the command 'hoover' because i drop things a lot. you can yell it from anywhere in the house and hear the little 'pat pat pat' of her peets on the floor coming towards u
My daughter would put her plate on the floor and yell "pre-wash" Yes it got washed with hot water and soap after. Dog was always sad when we had onions because dogs should not eat onions.
Dr. Brandon also recommends practicing mindfulness about how we consume content online. That might help us manage feelings of overwhelm and stress. "Taking breaks, setting time limits, and engaging in self-care activities offline can also help maintain a healthy balance between online and offline life. It's vital to prioritize self-care and offline activities that bring joy and fulfillment," Dr. Brandon says.
Can I share my own wholesome story? A guy asked me to a dance and I said yes even though I didn't really have feelings for him and was recovering from a bad breakup. He brought me flowers on our date, and as I was admiring them a leaf fell off. I felt really bad and apologised, but he said "don't worry, there are plenty. I got extra leaves. It's very green" and he had remembered a time I mentioned that green was my favorite colour. And that's the story of the greatest first date I've ever been on :)
Long time ago I went on a date with a guy and we were about to cross the street. A lady next to us told her young daughter "Hold hands to cross the street!" and my date said "You heard the lady! Guess we'd better hold hands!". Didn't end up dating the guy long but I still think it was sweet.
Yes! His partner's device captured the odd data being recorded on nights they were apart

We met for coffee & decided to go to dinner, but FIRST I had to check out the Barnes & Noble next door. I found 4-5 books on the sale table and he very nonchalantly took them and carried them throughout the store. Dinner lasted 3/5 hours. We was my 6th "online" date 16 years ago.
I hope she didn't get fired for posting those pictures. At least in the US, it's a hippa violation and could possibly have risked her job doing the best she possibly could at her job.
We did the same thing. Was told ge probably only had a short time left, but he stayed with us for almost ten years, loved and safe
When I go to the shelter to get a doggie, I’ll be asking for the one that has been there the longest
I went to the shelter with my kids to get a puppy, we went home with a dog that nobody wanted because she was too old and too ugly. Sweetest dog ever, lived 9 more years.
Load More Replies...For those who like to organize their day to a T, there's one more strategy that Dr. Brandon recommends. He says that 'digital detoxing' can be immensely beneficial.
"Designate certain times of the day or specific days of the week as screen-free, allowing time to reconnect with the physical world and engage in activities like reading, exercise, or spending time in nature," he notes. In other words, some literal touching of grass might benefit your mental health pretty well.
I've worked with people from all over the African Continent and they're some of the kindest, most loyal, and hardest working people around. I worked with a Ghanaian named Nana who fed me lunch for a week after a bad break-up that left me completely broke. Nana from Ghana, thank you brother, where ever you are.
One time kinda late at night (like 11:30 or something) a friend of ours went to go home, but his truck was stuck in the snow. The rest of us suited up and went to help push him out. There were 5 of us, until suddenly we realized there were 6. Elderly neighour-lady had appeared out of nowhere like batman to help us push. (Where I'm from in Canada it's quite normal to help strangers out of the snow, it was just funny because none of us had realized she was there.)
You mean Kenyans 🇰🇪 😁😁😁 Karibuni Kenya 🇰🇪 you're all invited
Load More Replies...We surely don't. My current country of residence (think Europe), doesn't understand why I am always ready to lend a helping hand. We don't just leave our neighbours to struggle. Fist bump that Kenyan for me please 🙏🏽
I had this, years ago my car stopped running half way through a part flooded road, some guy out of nowhere stopped in front of me, got out, waded through the water and together we attached a toe rope and he toed me the last half mile or so to work. I still owe him a pint.
That is one of the most beautiful pictures that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. (sniff! sniff!)
If you want to reduce your screen time, find things you like to do apart from TikTok or Twitter. Whether that's knitting, photography, baking, or gardening – try out different things and see what works for you. "Developing hobbies that don't involve screens not only reduces online time but also enriches personal skills and happiness," Dr. Brandon observes.
UPDATE: I've learned that this man's book is full of autographs from people he 'mistakes' as princes and princesses
Load More Replies...I remember seeing an article on him, he goes to all the little girls dressed up and does that, and has books filled with the signatures. He says a little thing like this can make a young childs day and even help their confidence, and that is why he did it
If I remember correctly he does that for every girl dressed as a princess.
Does Disney still sell Autograph Books? I remember getting one the times I went. I'm sure if I don't have them my mom does. I'm in my 50s, too!
I don't know the current numbers, but last year, Cena has set a world record of at least 650 visits to Make-A-Wish children over the course of his career.
Wish you had posted a pic with John in it, I bet it would've been cool
We may have a hard time seeing this man..... But he always sees ALL of us
And on a cello! Beautiful instrument, pain to play well while standing up.
Yeah you have to been down a really awkward angle and hold your arm out really far and it's just really annoying (source: I play cello)

This one always gets me choked up. Just look at her. It's so beautiful, she's crying.
Socializing and going out can also provide a welcome escape from the negativity spiral online. "Seeking support from communities or groups that focus on positive and uplifting interactions can provide a safe space away from negativity," Dr. Nathan Brandon tells us.
Raised two girls; wish I'ld been smart enough to go this far. Did a lot for them but this is awesome!
I really like that this person didn't include their faces. Posting strangers pictures is getting to be a big problem. One time I was in a line with my brother and I took a panorama picture so my mom could find us and the person behind me made a comment about people taking pictures of strangers and I didn't say what it was for and I still feel really bad about it
For any man looking for company like this, search for your nearest Men's Shed club. Not just widowers, all men. I believe they are over the world.
Maybe there's a ROMEO group near where he lives: Retired Old Men Eating Out?
My MSc certificate came when I was at work, I didn't know it was coming. My boyfriend was home, figured out what it was (because the envelope said 'certificate, do not bend') and went out to buy provisions to greet me with a 'ceremony' when I got home.
Putting it as 'ceremony' made it sound a bit Sus. To clarify, it was being greeted with champagne and balloons.
Load More Replies...It makes me smile, the irony of having an online course certificate come through the mail. 🥲
Whether that's sports, a book club, or volunteering at your local shelter, finding like-minded people and socializing with them is beneficial. "Engaging in discussions or activities that foster a sense of belonging and positivity can be a powerful antidote to the stress and negativity often encountered online," Dr. Brandon tells Bored Panda.
Awww this is so sweet. Custodial staff are really underappreciated.
Not to mention that if you are friends with the custodial staff you will learn everything about your workplace, be able to sneak out and in, and many more things.
Load More Replies...Always, ALWAYS be nice to the custodial staff. They really are nice people. Their jobs aren’t easy, and they’re always underappreciated and treated like they’re invisible—-not to mention probably also underpaid because they’re truly worth their weight in gold—-but if they weren’t there, the entire infrastructure of the building would go right to hell in a hand basket. Same goes for anyone on a non-management, service, or other support position. If it weren’t for them, the f*****g managers and the suits would actually have to work for a living (oh, the horror!), and the entire world would descend into chaos because managers and the suits don’t know s**t about anything and are about as worthless as udders on a bull.
Please always show kindness to people in service position. Their jobs are not easy, and they often get treated like they are invisible and not worthy of being acknowledged. They are the backbone of many business infrastructures, and without them, many businesses and institutions like restaurants, gyms and even school could not run properly.
At my factory, I work 3rds & an hr before I leave, the janitor comes in. I always hear people saying how he barely does anything, but I always see him cleaning, no matter when I cross paths w/him. On a Friday as I was punching out for the day, I passed him & said, "Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for keeping this place cleaned up. Well... As clean as it CAN be." the factory is 108 yrs old, almost original everything, so it's crusty lol. Anyway, he was quiet for a moment & then thanked me. When Tues am arrived & I was punching out, he came up to me & thanked me again, adding that "No one has EVER thanked me before." He's been working as a janitor there for over 10 yrs & that broke my heart. The bathrooms, breakroom, floors etc would be gross if he wasn't there. He was out sick for a week once & ppl def noticed the difference - yet still never thanked him when he came back & cleaned up. Sad. The fact my thanks lived in his head all weekend touched me. He felt seen & appreciated.
When I went to school at the school my mom taught at I would often be there before or after hours and I would hang out with the custodian in his shop all the time and it was the coolest thing ever. If you’re still out there Jeff, keep being you!
Without janitors, the garbage a day trash would get piled up. The floors and bathrooms would not get cleaned. If they cleaned offices, they would not get cleaned either. Imagine what businesses would look like? Nobody would want to come in.
I don't care how many times I read this beautiful story of solidarity, it ALWAYS make me happy 😸
And why isn't socializing online the same? As psychology researcher Alex Danvers told Bored Panda in a previous interview, real-life social interactions are much more rewarding. "I'd think of online socializing as sort of the 'lite' version."
"That may be nice to do when you're feeling tired or burnt out, but it's also not going to give you the full experience of connecting with another person. To have really satisfying connections, you do need to put in the effort of navigating the more complicated world of in-person interactions."
and to work and to the grocery store and to doctor appointments and to ....

This reminded me of the chaps my grandma made for me because my legs got cold riding my motorcycle. I never wore them since they were made from Holstein cowhide. I'm 79 now, she's long gone and this memory brings me to tears.
why would them being made from holstein cowhide make you not wear them? serious question...
Load More Replies...When I did my defense, one of my committee members unexpectedly asked a totally unrelated, totally theoretical question - just out of the blue. Basically a brain-teaser that had nothing to do with my research. I immediately answered it with a detailed explanation, right off the top of my head. He's gone now, he was a renowned academic in his field. I'll never forget his kindness - he did it just b/c he knew I could hit it out of the park and he wanted me to look good. RIP Ralph.
My sister did this once, unknowingly. I was defending my thesis (she's in a completely unrelated field) and she was the only one present bc no one else could make it, when my committee finished asking questions they urged her to ask something, as she was completely out of her field
I decided to take a chance on a guy my mother liked and I didn't. Pro tip, don't do that. I had a presentation and this guy decided to drop a sexist joke. He was apparently in good company and I was twilight zoned.
He’s a keeper. I do wonder what your topic was and also his question But I know that wasn’t the point

Next time you eat tacos make sure to have a tortilla in your lap. It catches all the stuff that falls from the tacos as you eat, when you're done with your tacos, Wala! You now have a free burrito!
My Royal Mail delivery driver reverses his route when he has parcels for me, so I can have an extra half hour asleep.
There's a little cafe near my school that I stop by very frequently (students get a discount) and the employees know me and greet me by name, which makes me weirdly happy

Reminds me of a story from my family. When my great-grandfather (who I never knew) was about to pass away, he asked for a guitar. He had been an artist when young. He played "Good bye my boys", an Argentinean tango. Apparently, my great-grandmother never could stand that song again without breaking down.
We did this with my grandpa. He was in the hospital dying of congestive heart failure, hadn't eaten in days and asks my uncle if he could get a beer. My uncle walks across the street to the gas station, gets a 6 pack and we all shared one last beer together. Funnily enough, it was during this that the priest showed up to read him his last rites lol
I've got tears running down my face... my dad passed away five days ago, and I would've LOVED a moment like that with him.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers, and thoughts of peace and confort.

He wanted, and got a good death.
Didn’t you know? All pets have to be there when you pee. Even if they are not yours.
I take my little pup everywhere I can and that involves long drives and service stop toilets, he’s always sneaking a nose under the stall! Sorry ladies!
Because you know and he knows you can’t do that without a dog watching
Mustn't be allowed in bathroom alone. Especially when a four-foot is near.
Back in my day weird got you bullied and pushed down flights of stairs. Glad it's more socially accepted now ;)
I keep reminding my oldest that he's weird and that's okay because I know he's my kid then. 🤣 he laughs it off now and in the future I know he will roll his eyes at me
I try to compliment random people whenever I go out. Grocery store or whatever. Something small and unique, that I genuinely like. I know that is invasive and not the way in a ton of places, but I live in the middle of the US. Being nice costs you nothing.

Both of my kids are wonderful.VERY different personalities, but they show me all the time that they love me. I have NO ide how I got so lucky/blessed!
That was what I was thinking, camellias have larger flowers and are in the tea family, Pretty tree though!

Look at that branch on the bottom right. It looks like the tree is holding up its arms screaming “Don’t leave!"
One of my daughters is bi. I don’t care as long as whoever treats her right
Nothing makes me happier than seeing older people supporting their queer loved ones. I saw this really cute old couple at pride last year with a sign that said "I love my trans daughter", melts my queer heart to see 🥰
I needed a laugh. 😆 Sometimes you deserve to stare off into space thinking without people assuming you're going insane. Lol
Just sent this to my truck-mad friend and his wide on our group WhatsApp
Don’t be surprised if he ends up being a trucker. One of my husband’s earliest memories is sitting in the drivers seat of his aunt’s rig. He’s been hooked ever since
I do the same every year. Our old apple tree produces much more than we can eat, even with canning some, so I leave a crate in the park abutting my backyard, with a roll of plastic bags so people can help themselves. Got lovely thank you notes, even flowers, once.
did it once, with tomatoes. On my way home from work, I found several sacks ripped open, tomatoes on the ground crushed and some thrown at my house... never again.
That's absolutely shïtty, sorry to hear that
Load More Replies...My neighbours down the road do this, just leave buckets of apples on the sidewalk with a sign "please take some."
A few people do that in my town, but it's just a box of apples left by the gate. Much better than waste
Here in Finland many people do the same. Though they are usually in a big bucket/basket tied on the fence. Many people take one or two when they walk next to it.
In the winter I will shake fruits off of trees so the deer can get to them on the ground.
I thought the same for my nieces, they were so adorable babies, I didn’t want to see them grow but finally, I love to see them evolve and become such wonderful people. being able to do 3+7 is already great, but talking about mangas, universe and much more is so ... !!! :)
Yes!! My nephews have turned into the neatest adults. I love spending time with all of them and my oldest nephew is my rollercoaster buddy - we do at least one trip a year to amusement parks and ride coasters.
Load More Replies...My great nieces love to surprise me with flamingo related facts. Yes of course I already know, but you couldn't drag that out of me with pliers.
Tell them that flamingos are very hard to pounce. You have to really wind your butt up with your tail.

The thought that a brother loves his sister THAT much gives me hope for humanity.
It was the inverse of this for me, I got to explain this to my dad!
Marianne : shame about the downvotes. Dads and teenage daughters don't always have the same interests. He's happy he can help her or that she shows interest in something he knows about.
Dad shares his passion with his daughter. "hOw iS ThiS wHolEsOme?"

My sister was undergoing middle school exams and was asked who had won WWII. She had no idea, but didn't panic and answered: Beyond who won or who lost ... Then launched in a consideration about war and peace in general. She passed the exam, and we use her system whenever we don't know the answer of something!
Mine would ask. The answer is -WW1 through Vietnam, Uncle / Revolutionary war to Civil war, Grandpa / 1000s to early 1700's, Mommy
Mommy is European wars 1000s to early 1700s
Load More Replies...I think Dad knows a lot about WWII, and has always wanted to tell her about it

Rare but quite possible. I know 2 sets of identical triplets, and one with 2 identical and one fraternal twin.

A few days ago I saw a tshirt with the words "I show my scars so others know they can heal too". I don't hide my mastectomy, for the same reason. This guy's scar is a sign of hope
This is dystopian really. Who is taking care of the child all the time she's in hospital?
FR, I'd be grabbing mom's number and let her know if she needs help again give us a call babe! share the love! :)
Load More Replies...I did this when a friend's husband went to the hospital due to a serious accident, while they were in another town. She was so scared and lonely, and I told her to call or text whenever she felt like. I set the loudest tone on my phone to be sure to hear the messages while asleep
I put my phone on do not disturb when I sleep, but have friends and family programmed in so their messages and calls bypass it. That way I know if my phone makes any noise, it's something I want to attend to
now all i can imagine is a deep thundering voice like hulk for some reason. please help
AWW thatd make me so happy every time i heard it, spreading the love all around
That's when you have to decide whether to traumatise them by telling them needles are involved. Lots of needles. For hours. By choice. Lol.

The house faced the lake and the storm rolling in and out kept them entertained for hours. Stroke took my stepdad out less than 6 months later. A year later, the house was gone as Mum was forced to get a smaller place. Few years later now and hubby's gone. Trust me, never miss a chance to watch the rain, kids.
Maybe after the rain stopped as they wanted to share this positive moment to hopefully make someone elses day a bit better?

My dad told me it was lovely to hear me singing again after me not doing so for a while. It's so sweet when people notice things like that <3
Nice. But did the roommate ever try to be a friend and ask about the silence...try to see if they could help?
As a student who once asked my prof why he always seems to be looking at me while he teaches, I too can confirm. Apparently in a class of 300 and I was the only one who would make eye contact. I guess it's hard to teach to a room full of people not paying attention (or not seeming to be).
Can confirm, currently back in school in my mid to late thirties. By just intently nodding, participating and eye contact,I was able to lock in a letter of recommendation from one of my professors in my first semester. I try and do this anyway in all my classes, but apparently I'm one of the few, most of the time and my teacher decided to reward me for it.

Cute but why weren't there two controllers to begin with if you had two kids? Seems misogynistic...
My dad explained quantum physics to me at smol age. I didn’t go into science but I still remember “things get energy, start to vibrate and jump or shift a layer” so, there you have it. Things have energy, they vibrate and sometimes they move as a result of the energy. I haven’t yet read a clearer explanation.
If not friend, then why friend-shaped? Apex predators have NO BUSINESS with ears that tiny and cute!
I mean you can, it might not turn out so well though. I got to pet a cub that was a rescue when I was little.
Can I pet that dawg, I love that it makes me laugh every time I watch the clip.
No clue why you got a downvote, so here's an upvote.

Yes. I have a lot of stuff and my house is cluttered (not hoarding-level). I do chuck stuff periodically, but most stuff stays because it makes me happy and having it around (and visible!) brings me joy! And I'm okay with that. Fortunately, I'm lucky enough to live alone so I can keep my space as I like - which is ideally reapsonably tidy, but a bit cluttered.

Do it and put it on here! I’ll buy a bunch of stuff I’m a huge enthusiast for random pretty things.

Guinea pigs - as many as you can hold/fit in your lap at a time. All you need is some carrots and a fuzzy blanket and they will cuddle you.
Some things just make you smile when you see them. No real reason, not an “I want this,”or “oh, that’s nice,” but a true spark of joy. Usually not something big - one of mine is a ceramic bowl from Dollar Tree. Get those things when you can, because that spark is rare and usually doesn’t fade.
I'm a 30-year craft artisan. Over the years of selling at art and craft shows, we've acquired many beautiful functional items and art objects, often in trade for my creations. Every time we use or see one of these items, we smile at several levels: the beauty of the item, the creative soul of the maker, and the memory of where and when we acquired it. In order to not overwhelm ourselves and our home, we have things out on a rotating basis with the rest in storage for the next cycle.
My grandmother went through radiation treatment for cancer and had to be isolated, so they would have family meals with the dining table moved closer to her room so she could still be part of them
Sometimes I roll over wrong in my sleep. Next morning my neck is ahhh dysfunctional. I can’t look right or left. It generally takes two or more weeks for it to recover.
I am starting to think someone has a grudge against you or something. A lot of your comments have downvotes and there is nothing wrong with them..

Wish my boss would understand this, I give her 30 years to catch up....
Cracked my knuckles and managed to tear the tiny little ligament that goes across the bottom side of my right ring finger 🤦🏻♀️
my son always compliments others, no matter what. his go to for an overweight, unkept, girl, is 'nice shirt'.....they perk up everytime! then one day, he looked at me and said 'nice shirt mom', and i realized i had gained weight and needed a shower......hmmmm
I don't, I tend to fall in love with the people who make me hate myself and lower my expectations and self worth to the floor
Hmmm... That's why people fall in one sided love with people they are trying to fix. You don't love THEM, you love that they make YOU better, because you are more helpful, understanding, supportive, and Loving, while they are just using you...

Just remember that you can trick your brain as easily as your brain can trick you. One thing to try which helps me, is to give your brain the same answer to reoccurring negative thoughts. The idea is that your brain will get bored of hearing the same answer every time, and the negative thought loses its power.

I always have to counter his worries and hints that he wants to give up with stuff like, “Yes, everything we try has a 50-50 chance of failure, but that also means there’s a 50-50 chance of total success. Have you ever thought of it that way?”
My husband is the one who does this for me. Thank you for being that person for your husband <3
Load More Replies...My therapist had me counter anxiety, especially over things like why is someone not responding to a message or why is someone late coming home, by listing as many scenarios as possible, both ridiculous and realistic, then looking at the ACTUAL likelihood that the situation would happen. "Dead in a ditch" was on the same page as "phone battery died" and "work ran late". It makes the anxiety take a back seat to reality, and by the time you've gone through all the scenarios, what you were worried about has usually resolved anyway
Yet if I try that all I get is brain backchat asking; "What if they don't?" and "What if it doesn't?" Then more backchat confirming; "It definitely won't, and you're stupid to think otherwise, now close the curtains, hide from the world, and sit in safety in the darkness like you do every day."
