40 Times People Ruined Their Cars With Dumb Mods, As Shared On This Instagram Page (New Pics)
Modifying cars can be a fun and exciting way to make your vehicle truly your own, but sometimes, things can go horribly wrong. The Instagram page "[Messed] Up Looking Cars" has a collection of cringe-worthy examples of car owners who took things a little too far. From a giant hamburger-looking vehicle to another car with some duct-taped parts, these modifications will make you question the taste of some enthusiasts.
With that being said, it's a cautionary tale for car enthusiasts everywhere, a reminder that sometimes less is more when it comes to customizing your ride. So, if you're considering a mod for your car, it's best to think twice and take a look at some of the most popular tweets to avoid making the same mistakes as these unfortunate car owners.

When it comes to modifying your car, it's important to remember that it's not just about making it look cool, it's also about making sure you're not breaking any laws, compromising safety, or lowering the resale value. It's like a game of "Modification Roulette" - you never know what you're gonna get.
First things first, make sure you're not breaking any laws with your mod choices. From the size of your tires to the height of your ride, there are a lot of laws to keep in mind. And trust me, you don't want to be the guy (or girl) getting pulled over with an illegal modification.
"That's one small wheel for a man, four giant wheels for Jeep."

Yeah. Soft rubber mud tires. This thing is getting more dangerous by the minute.
Load More Replies...I feel sorry for him. Seems like his penis is microscopic. The bigger car...
Needs a set of lower front and back bumpers to prevent another auto entering to the windshield. Maybe side bumpers too, it's not like a lower thing with the sides to take the impact. Is this legal? Ego, ha.
Those tires are taller than me. How tf would anyone get into or out of this?? Magic??
The tread left on those back tires says they’re really expensive and this guy is not ready to buy new tires!
This was definitely done specifically for comic effect. The "spare" is definitely a 4.80-12 trailer tire.
That plate looks like it's Az, now I'm need to look when I'm out driving.
If a first date showed up in that monstrosity I think I'd bail PDQ.
That time is coming sooner than later, looks like lots of tred is missing from those tires.
Ooh... could have save# money and just took out a billboard saying g"i belong ro the no peen club"
Hmmm, 🤔 some guy is definitely trying to compensate for his extremely small... feet.
If the average penis size is these tires, then his penis size is the equivalent to the original tire? I think this equation uses the penial envious solution correct?
At least make sure they're properly inflated. Lots of uneven wear for some expensive a*s tires.
If you can afford that monstrosity, then you can afford a therapist to deal with your small penis complex. That goes for a lot of the cars on this post.
I guess, uhmmm... it could be useful when there's flood?🥴 Still hideous, though.
Probably never been off-road. Just a manhood booster (he must need one badly).
Safety is also a big concern when it comes to modifying your car. Sure, that spoiler may make your car look like it's ready for the racetrack, but it could also make it harder to handle at high speeds. And that loud exhaust may sound cool, but it could be dangerous for pedestrians, especially those with hearing impairments.
And let's not forget about resale value. Some mods, like a new paint job or performance upgrade, can actually increase the value of your car. But others, like custom body kits or aftermarket rims that aren't popular among buyers, could make it harder to sell your car in the future.
Right blinker/indicator "click click click click" now the left one "oink oink oink oink"
Finally, remember that modifying your car is a big investment, both in terms of time and money. Make sure you're choosing mods that are worth the investment, and not just following the latest trends. Because, let's be real, those spinners may have been cool in the early 2000s, but now they're just a reminder of a questionable fashion choice.
I love the absurdity hahaha my favourite random sticker was in Bali it read: I Love Mel's Boobs!. I promptly bought it for my brother who's wife's name is Mel. No idea who Mel is supposed to be but she is very popular in Bali lol
When a friend borrows your truck and you ask them to fill the tank afterwards.
Saw one like this the other day whole front end was held up with duct tape and twine
When you fit a loud tailpipe/exhaust and then need a massive sound system to hear your music.....then fit a louder tailpipe/exhaust so you can hear that over the loud music...then even more speakers to...etc etc etc

Load More Replies...How do these cars ever get through their annual safety checks. 🤔
A lot of states in the US do not have annual checks. Mine does not.
Load More Replies...In what country are these cars street legal? No way I could drive around here in more than half of those cars. Entertaining list all the same
'merica. Many of our states could not care less about what you drive. As long as it has seatbelts, you can see out of the windows, has tags, and can brake, you're good. Most of those states are in the South, like South Carolina, where I'm from.

Why are these considered ruined? Some of these are amazing! Who doesn't want to live out a weird childhood fantasy if you have the money to do so??
Because at least once a week boredpanda is contractually obligated to show a post that ridicules people for not conforming to standard design principles. Usually it is house designs but apparently this week it is car designs.
Load More Replies...Personally I'd like to see a list of car modifications which are not eyesores and which actually improved the vehicle or made it more attractive.
Also how some of the manufacturers seem to make their models worse when giving them facelifts too.
Load More Replies...That title was the worst thing about this gallery. Many of those were either really well executed, a brilliant concept or both. A little redneck, perhaps in some cases, maybe a little offbeat, but "ruined?!?" naw, man. Some of those mods were downright sublime. Not everyone wants a samey car from Detroit's design school
Most of these would be highly illegal in my country. Only ones that would make the cut are the ones with just a dodgy paint job.
Because BP likes nice round numbers and arbitrarily introduces some sort of "quality" cut off point for reasons that have never been entirely clear. I just wish they'd put the "this post originally had X pictures, click here to see them all" link at the top of the page instead of after the last post...
Load More Replies...Some of these are very likely business cars. Many are amazing in their handiwork. The duct tape one very likely belongs to someone who cannot afford cosmetic repairs (and probably more seriously needed ones). We have one around my work that has been designed to look like a Tonka truck. I get giggly every time I see it. Also, VERY unlikely any of these will be stolen.
There's a car in West Seattle (WA), I think it's a Subaru Outback and it's painted in Zebra stripes. THEN it is covered with small plastic animals (think like a toy Noah's Ark set), and I do mean COVERED. Older lady who drives it looks like the 60's were really good to her.
There is (or at least was) a van in Tucson that was covered in pennies. Have a pic of it somewhere
I feel like the van from Dumb and Dumber should be on this list. Fits just as well as the other entries
