I will need a second sink for anything more than light hand washing. But I would definitely make room for this!
Load More Replies...I'm not sure this is real. The sink might have a really forward sitting drain, but it's weird we can't see it. The left handle on the sink may just be obscured, but it doesn't like right. The plants on the right are in realistic planterpots, but they have no drainage and the leaves don't match the flowers. The upper cabinet is extremely shallow, and the mar on the left side of the window looks really off. Finally the sink seems to blend into the counter top and be the exact same color, which seems unlikely.
Pretty but if something slips and lands the wrong way it would shatter
The Best Piece I Ever Got ! 1950s Chambers "B " Range In Candy Apple Red. Dutch Oven Cooking Allows Baking With The Gas Turned Off Holding Temperature For Almost 2 Hours
I'm........speechless. Amazed. Awestruck. I would sell my entire Barbie collection for this stove.
My Blue Heaven. We Left Everything Original
I’m in love with the whole thing! I wouldn’t want to leave. I would be baking all day long 🍪😂😂
According to the 2024 Pinterest Predicts report, kitschens (a term for kitschy kitchens) are trending.
The report writes, “They say the party always moves to the kitchen. But sometimes, the party is the kitchen. This year, Gen X and Boomers will quirk up their cooking areas with thrifted finds, vintage appliances and eye-jarring pops of paint. No minimalist aesthetic is safe.”

came here to say this exact thing. idk if it's a perspective thing, but the sink AND the stove look awfully low.
Load More Replies...I had a stove like that in a house I rented in college - I loved it.
What’s the address? I’m packing up now, and moving my family into that house 😂!
If the kitchen is that big then the rest of the house must be huge and just as nice!!
We Collect Vintage Toasters... My Husband And I Were Both Born To Families With A Strong "Collector Gene" So It Is Not Hard For Us To Start A Collection
For reasons that would take too long to explain we started to collect toasters and toaster related objects. This is a photograph of us with a small part of our collection that was featured in a UK magazine. In addition to toaster shaped cookie jars and tea pots this shows eight of our real vintage toasters
I have the collector gene that I inherited from my father. I can't imagine what my house would look like if I didn't have my minimalist husband around to curb my collecting.
Soo cute! Never knew that toasters came decorative.keep collecting!
I Found This 1945 Range And Asked My Husband To Build My New Kitchen Around It. It Works! Only One Oven Works - Because It Was Restored
This is my absolute favorite out of all of these.
Load More Replies...Those weren't exactly complicated mechanically and are easily repaired. Why couldn't they get the other side working during restoration? Or was it only a surface restoration? (yeah, I know I won't get an answer).
I'd answer, but I'm not sure what you're asking. Yes they are easily repaired, but not cheaply.
Load More Replies...Fixing the other oven should be fairly easy (former maintenance supervisor).
The term kitschy kitchen is a derivative of the German verb kitschen used to describe a work of art thrown together. This is exactly what such a cooking area is - a colorful and diverse space typically full of vintage assorted furniture and accessories. It’s a trend synonymous with all things retro, pulling at the heartstrings of nostalgic people.
Providing us more insights into this trend, Sydney Stanback, global trends and insights lead for Pinterest, says, "People will elevate their kitchen designs and cooking areas with thrifted finds, vintage appliances and eye-jarring pops of paint as they are looking for 'eclectic kitchen decor,' 'kitschy kitchens,' 'retro pink kitchens' and more."
I Did Not Pay More Than Few Dollars For Any One Thing In This Room. Most Everything Was Gifted, Thrifted Or Dragged Out Of A Dumpster Or Off The Side Of The Road
Or patience. All these items must've taken forever to accumulate.
Load More Replies...I have always loved those corner cabinets. My mom has several of them. I've asked her for one for years and she's not willing to part with one.
Holy hell, awesome job! I need to go thrifting with you. It all looks amazing 😀👍!
1950s,so Amazing,vintage Kitchen
The Antique Kitchen In My 1875 Coastal Maine Home, Tax Assesor Said It Was The Oldest Working Kitchen In My Town
The stove is a Gold Medal Glenwood combination coal/ gas range made in 1920. The Hoosier is all original and came with all its glassware and utensils and paper work. The porcelain icebox is also 1920, non electrified.the huge sink and drainboard date to the 20s and cabinetry has been here since the house was built
Stunning! I was hoping I'd find something local on this list. A lot of these kitchens are amazing, but no kitchen is worth moving to the Midwest for.
The rest of the kitchen is not as nice at the stove looks. There is a microwave and a modern fridge. It's not really an old looking kitchen. (Click on the name on the left hand side under the picture you get pics of the rest of the kitchen).

Interestingly, the pink retro kitchen search term has increased by 40%. "Pink provides that unique retro charm and is a hue that doesn't go out of style," says Mattia Salia, product manager at SMEG, famous for its vintage-looking kitchen appliances. "While playful, pink is also a unique and stylish choice for the kitchen, setting it apart from more traditional colors like white or beige."
1937 Toaster
are telling me that´s an actual, functional toaster? looks like a decorative item made out of ceramic.
Interior design consultant, stylist, and maximalism specialist Sophie Newlands tells Bored Panda, "I think modern, minimalist designs can sometimes lack soul and character, so many people will find inspiration in past eras. I love it when a client brings me a brief that allows me to delve into antiques. There’s something so magical about furniture that has been pre-loved and can bring a glimpse of the past into the modern home."

Vintage Dining Set That I Restored That Is Up For Sale At The Antique Store In My Hometown
It is sublime! You did an amazing job restoring it to its original state. BRAVO!!
That's not antique! That's my grandmother's kitchen table. Oh, nevermind!
I have this same table, but with gray and yellow chairs. I also have a bright yellow one with raised leaves on each end to make it bigger. One was $40 and the other was free!
Besides its charming aesthetic, another reason why vintage kitchen design has seen a resurgence in popularity is its sustainability. “Buying pre-loved is crucially a more ethical way to buy, especially at a time when mass consumption is costing us the earth and driving small businesses under,” says antiques expert Alice Roberton.

I have one. Has some dents, not as shiney, but quite functional.

I have mine hanging on the wall since I think it is too cute to hide in the cabinet. My husband prefers everything to be put away so the counters are bare but I like to put all of my cute antique & vintage items on display so I can enjoy looking at them 😊
I have my mother's which dates to 1940 when she & my father married. It's nearly identical to this and I use it almost every day.
Awww maann, I had one in college I got a thrift shop & loved it! Wish I still had it.
My mom had one like this. One of the "feet" fell off and it was always an adventure to use to use it without everything spilling!
“An increased awareness of sustainability and production has fueled this decision and while people often come to vintage from a sustainable standpoint, they stay for the instantaneous burst of character that antique and reclaimed furniture and accessories bring into their home,” she explained.
Here's My Vintage Kitchen. Ain't She Purdy?
This is the kind of kitchen in which you want to have a midnight snack and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Even though they include vintage elements, most retro kitchens nowadays aren't identical to authentic ones back in the day. "The beauty of recreating vintage style in contemporary homes is that we are able to replicate an era while concealing more modern appliances, such as dishwashers. We can also be clever with our designs to give us enough storage space, as modern families need more space in the kitchen than in the 1960s," Sophie explained.
My Parents Used This Kerosene Perfection Stove Until They Got Rea Electricity In 1948
Several years ago, I got it down out of the rafters in our barn, cleaned it up, replaced the wicks and it works as it should. Since then I have acquired and restored a couple other kerosene stoves
For some reason my brain is getting the scale wrong and telling me this is dolls house furniture
If it helps, the top left cast iron piece is a Dutch oven and the piece to the left of the stove is a traditional general store hand crank coffee mill.

All the farms around here, Northwest Minnesota, had summer kitchens The idea was to keep the house cooler in the summertime as those wood burning stoves got the house too warm for comfort, hence the term summer kitchen. They cooked, canned, and so much more. It was a practical and necessary building, This is to honor our nostalgic past
My mother my Hoosier Cabinet to the curb rather than tell me, before she moved. She saw nothing wrong with that. I have friends who would have picked it up in a heartbeat.
Load More Replies...Here summer houses used to be a thing, not the modern meaning which is a vacation home someplace else but a second house on the same plot.
Yes. Usually, just steps away behind the main house.
Load More Replies...This reminds me of my grandmother's kitchen. Not much counter space, but she'd had polio as a child so did pretty much all her prep work at the kitchen table. We'd sit there together in the summertime shelling peas or snapping green beans or me watching her peel apples.
Load More Replies...If you’re lost on where to start your transition into a vintage kitchen, don’t fret; interior designers have our back. The first step is identifying your perfect design aesthetic, as vintage can mean different things to different people. Perusing through showrooms, Pinterest, or your favorite antique thrift stores can give you a better idea of how you want your kitchen to look.
"Decide which era you are drawn to the most and start creating a Pinterest board of inspiration," says Sophie. "If you love traditional, farmhouse kitchens, then experiment with floral wallpaper and rustic-looking wood If you’re inspired by the '70s, then you could start by looking at some funky tiles and introducing some hanging plants."

Dishmaster Faucet That We Recently Had Installed In Our Restored 1950 Kitchen. Originally Designed In 1948, A Dishmaster Is Much "More Than Just A Faucet"
With an attached wand that dispenses hot, soapy water at the touch of a button, it's essentially a hand-held dishwasher...that makes cleaning easier and more efficient (and enjoyable) than ever!
While our model is brand-new, it's an exact replica of the company's classic Dishmaster Imperial M-59, with a faceplate that's been reproduced according to the exact specifications of the original (recently re-discovered) 1959 tooling.
Last week, I had the opportunity to visit the Dishmaster factory in Mitchell, Indiana—where the owner graciously gave me an impromptu tour. To my astonishment, I discovered that—far from being some vast impersonal corporate entity—Dishmaster is a deeply personal family business, run entirely by Roger & his son Chris as a 2-man operation...they do it all! Just as it was way back in 1948, this ingenious invention continues to be crafted with pride each day in small-town middle America (with the sole exception of a single part that has to be outsourced).
From the very beginning, these were always considered something of a post-war luxury (the cost in 1950 was the equivalent of $660 today)—but not only can you get yours today for significantly less (even when loaded with all the extra "bells & whistles" available), you can invest in something that will simultaneously make your daily life a little easier and help keep this family-run American company in business for generations to come! Look closely—and you just might see a Dishmaster in your future
Same! My fist place had a pesto bismol pink bathroom from the 50s. I thought it was so cute.

For those who aren't planning a big renovation, your vision can be achieved by adding vintage touches and various accessories to your cooking area. “Buy unusual pieces, try putting things in your kitchen that might be traditionally suited to a living room, or even your grandma’s home,” suggests Helen Parker, creative director at deVOL. “Mix up old with new and always try to source authentic and well-made pieces.”

Adding wallpaper, an interesting backsplash, or brass accents can also transform your kitchen into a vintage one without putting too much labor into it. If you’re ready to put more elbow grease into your dream kitchen, swapping your cabinets and appliances for retro ones is also a great option. Repurposing antique furniture and appliances for this can add to the charm even more. Patterned fabrics like curtains, reclaimed vintage lighting, or checkered flooring are some additions that are worth considering as well.

My dream is a red kitchen. I have tons of red kitchen things, but I can’t paint because we’re renting. We’ll, I haven’t asked if it was ok to paint so maybe I can fulfill my dream and just paint it white before we leave?
Red is a very hard color to paint over white. It takes allot of primer to cover it up. So beware.
