The concept of expensive can’t be really considered as such without context. Those who are better off have a completely different understanding of what is expensive than what a person living from paycheck to paycheck would think.
But there is a sense of universalism there too. A fine zone that encompasses things that we all understand as expensive, but only if we also see how much damage has been done to said expense.

Why don't we have a law that limits the size and weight of a vehicle. Smaller vehicles is a win-win for everyone! And don't say it's my right as an Amrican to crush smaller cars!
It is should not be. Driving it if you can't see is stupid. At the very least don't get close and pay attention.
Lifted trucks are a danger. I was at a 4 way and was going to turn right on red. In the lane to my left, was a truck that was super lifted. I couldn’t see around it to SAFELY make that turn. I pull up a little and see it’s clear and off I go. Within seconds, I was getting pulled over for “blocking the crosswalk” that no one was near as it was late at night. So I tell the cop, “Well, if you saw me do that, than you couldn’t have missed the lifted truck next to me blocking my view of any oncoming traffic or pedestrians, right?” Needless to say, I went home ticket free. So yeah, I hate those trucks.
Yeah right. Let's move that center of gravity up real high. Sure you can only go 20MPH around any curves or turns, but everyone is looking at you! Okay, they're thinking you're a more-on, but they're looking at you!!!

One night on my way home, I was at a 4 way stop. It was just me wanting to turn right and a truck that looked pretty much like this one. I was wanting to right on red but had to pull up a little bit so that I could see around the truck and pull out safely. No sooner as I turned, I got pulled over for some nonsense about blocking the crosswalk. Not sure about this one. Looks like a deliberate disconnection of the rear of the car to enable work to be carried out. Everything looks straight and if the rear portion had fallen from the lift, there surely would be something bent.
