3.1M People Get Their Daily Dose Of Positivity From This IG Page, And Here Are 50 Newest Posts (New Pics)
Getting bombarded with negative news is no good for us. Crime, politics, even controversies in the entertainment world – we're sometimes much better off by not reading or watching it. In fact, in a survey of 266 therapists by GrowTherapy, 96.6% of them said watching or reading the news can have a negative impact on our mental health.
While we have to follow what happens in the world to some extent, curating our news feed so it contains more positivity is also important. That's where pages like Tank Sinatra's good news Instagram account come in. Here are some positive news stories from them to make your today's news feed at least a little bit more uplifting!

What an absolute delight to experience such freedom! I'm sorry you had to suffer to have an other side to reach 💔
Absolutely wonderful news! And lots of people really do care, you are worth celebrating!
I can say with 100% surety that I do NOT miss anything about working from an office. :)

One month from then they're sharing cookies, cheese, ham and coffee on their rides.
That is so lovely, what a great way to start your working day, a little more sleep & a community to watch out for your stop :-)
I had several similar experiences when I commuted to NYC on the LIRR out of Cold Spring Harbor.
Even when you drive long distances in a city for a commute to work, you will see the same cars each morning and evening when you are close to you home. I got to know a few Hondas, Chevys, Fords, GMCs, BMWs, plus many other makes rushing to work Monday thru Friday. Got to know the many small business work trucks and their drivers since they really stood out. Las Vegas traffic is well known to be either 75mph or 5mph any time of day.
The man who got my brother's heart and lungs had only one goal in life: to live long enough to see his son graduate high school. His voice broke when he told us, "and now I get to play with my grandchildren." He had close to 20 years extra, and with a vastly improved quality of life.
Did he let you hug him so you could feel your brother's heart?
Load More Replies...Tank's Good News is one account of many under the brand of Tank Sinatra (others include Influencers in the Wild and the original Tank Sinatra meme page). Tank is one of the most prolific meme creators online, with some even calling him "The Michael Jordan of Memes."
Sinatra launched the Instagram page back in 2017, and it has since racked up over three million followers. But don't worry, Tank Sinatra isn't the real name of the person behind all these accounts. The man is George Resch, and, as he told amNY last year just before the holidays, the idea to create such a page had been brewing in his mind for a long time. For 35 years, to be exact.
This one is a false story I'm afraid. But there is an actual one about a dog exchanging leaves for dog cookies! (Which I think this one is based off of.) Link providing true story on cat: https://petrescuereport.com/2023/cat-exchanging-leaves-for-fish-at-local-store-is-a-bit-fishy-but-fun/
An animal learning the cause and effect between exchanging money for food is not just cute, it's amazingly smart!

Our village used to be cut off by flood waters every year and I know a few of the elderly ladies used to rather look forward to being taken out to the shops by either a strapping farmer or the firefighters (the only locals with machinery to get through the floodwater).
Right? A hot firefighter? What's not to love? :)
Load More Replies...When I was oh so dramatically extracted out of my flat and taken in the ambulance to the hospital? Spinal Bruising and Covid etc etc etc, blah blah blah? I remember saying to the extraction team, "I'm sorry I'm so heavy, please don't hurt your back! Btw? Do you lot sell calenders of yourselves? If so I'll buy a number of them!" Thankfully they laughed! There were a few jokes made between us all, it's how I deal with things. Dark humour and jokes that if you're not in that situation could seem horrible but they're not, it's a... mental coping mechanism... Absolutely love this lady for joking during a dire situation! 💜💜💜
Must have been a rather kinky wedding night what with the fireman's uniform etc.
"I remember watching the news as a little kid with my father and asking him 'Why are there so many murders, kidnappings, robberies, etc.' and he said: 'There aren't, it's just what the news focuses on.' My mind was blown, I just couldn't understand it."
Resch also told the publication that tries to commit small acts of kindness whenever he can. One of the ways is to give his CVS ExtraBucks away to others. "I try and find an elderly person or maybe a parent alone with their kids. Sometimes it's $3.00 sometimes it's $30.00, but it's always nice to give to people, whether they need it or not. It's about reminding people that random good things do happen."
I did the same. You can't imagine the sigh of relief every time I'm home.
"nobody will tell me I have to leave" 😭 this list already had me teary but damn
I've been homeless and did my time in the various homeless hostels etc in order to get on the waiting list for housing. I kept putting in bids for my now Home but the shelter workers kept saying that I was wasting one of my bids, "You are not going to get that place, you're wasting it!"... Except I did get my now Home and I'm very protective of my Home 🙂 The first few nights here? I slept on my living room floor with a borrowed sleeping bag, no electricity until they came the next day to switch it on and a sandwich I'd managed to get from the shop around the corner because I didn't know where all the shops were. You wouldn't recognise my flat now from when I first moved in. 14/15yrs... So don't ever give up! It may take a while but you'll get there 💜🙂💜
We do not own our house and never will but I still love having my own (rented) nest. I still feel stressed when coming through the door though. It’s just entrenched.
My first home of my own.... drove 100 miles to be there. Took the key, opened the door, Walked in and sat on the living room floor. Nothing in the house yet. All in my rental waiting to be moved. But that ONE night, on the goddamed bare rug with a pillow and a blanket, I slept in my own, my very first house, with pride! (woke up and forgot where the hell I was and damned near fell in the tub trying to find the toilet! LOL!)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great story. You made me chuckle. Congratulations on not giving up and making your dream come true. Perseverance and faith are key. You made it.

Forgiveness is powerful. I had to learn to forgive the person that killed my husband and 2 boys. I forgave him for me not him. In order to move on Forgiveness was not a option. I had to do it..
Wow that's beautiful. I'm not sure I could do the same if I were in the parents' position.
Back in the late 50s or early 60s we acquired a puppy from a neighbor whose dog had given birth to a litter. We named her "Cocoa". We had another neighbor whose 7 or so year-old son had never spoken a word even though he was otherwise physically and mentally normal according to doctors. (Nowadays he'd be diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum.) Anyhow he loved Cocoa, Cocoa loved him, and the first word the kid ever spoke was her name to call her to him. Before the year was out, the kid was not only speaking and otherwise behaving normally for his age but was actually somewhat advanced.
Simple. He finally had something to say—-to someone who also didn’t “talk” in the human way, and who accepted him just the way he was, without trying to “fix” him. Then, once he started, he didn’t stop. And I bet Cocoa and he stayed best friends until Cocoa passed. Oh how I wished our pets lived longer.
Load More Replies...I met him! Worked with him really briefly. He is really lovely and obviously incredibly smart.
He looks very gentle! Probably understands more of people than anyone because he had many obstacles to take to where he is now.
Load More Replies...Too often people with autism are judged as dumb, unless your name is Einstein. My mother (an elementary school director) taught me that most people are not able to look beyond their own IQ and so, when they don't understand a very smart person, they want to put them in a place they do understand: below themselves. Which is a pity because that is the reason that very smart people and also people with autism often don't live up to their potential, just because nobody understood and/or was willing to see them in their own right.
So cynical I had to look this up. Yup. After a PE teacher gave him attention leading to goals.
The thing that people forget is that the average IQ is 100. The majority of the population is clumped around 100. Now think of someone with an IQ of 50. That person is not going to be capable of living (independently) or comprehending the "normal" 100 IQ world. Now think of someone with an IQ of 150. The same thing applies to that person as it does the 50 IQ person. 150 is just as far from the normal as 50 is.
I first saw that point explained in those terms in a YA novel titled The Roper Brothers and Their Magnificent Steam Automobile, that I read somewhere between the ages of 13 and 16. Fiction isn't fictional. It's simply not a true story. You really can't overstate the value of reading. It teaches a lot of important things. Like what homonyms are. And that everybody is not like you.

"I'm a big believer in the fact that things have always been the way they are," Resch also told the NACS podcast this year. He says the key to being content is living in the moment. "People will say: 'Things are worse now.' I think certain things are worse, but certain things are better. And 100 years ago certain things were worse and certain things were better," he said, explaining his philosophy.

And that is why we want medical progress, not going back to the dark ages without vaccines. What a beautiful couple, and how happy his parents must be.
He did good! You did good! Got yourselves a beautiful DIL and much power to your son!
With all due respect, sometimes we have to just give "fate" and "final diagnosis" the proverbial middle finger and continue to defy the odds as best we can. Congrats, for defying the tumour and getting married.
Respectfully, ‘giving cancer the middle finger’ or making your mind up to defy the odds has a minuscule effect compared with advances in medical treatments. If all it took to beat cancer was ‘staying positive’, no one would die from it.

And yet, if he wished to emigrate to the US, DJT would refuse as he is from a s***hole country(his words, NOT mine).

Wow! But shouldn't all schools everywhere be teaching sign language as a second language? We teach children French, Spanish, German, etc whilst being fully prepared to allow a surprising amount of people to be unable to ask directions to the toilet or tell somebody they're having chest pain!
Hope he patented that because that is an amazing thing that needs to go all over the world.
I nevebbbnbnn̈r told anyone before but when I was an undergrad at U Iowa in the 80's someone tried to steal my bike which was locked outside behind my apt building. I went downstairs with my 20 gauge Mossburg and tapped him on the shoulder with it. He was not able to cut through the kryptonite lock. Then when he tried to apologize his way out of it I stole his Nike shoes and made him walk off in socks. I always regretted it.
A few decades back, My fiance was killed in a plane crash. The good news page is proof that kindness can be contagious. On the NACS podcast, Resch recalled how one man messaged him saying how the page inspired him to start a non-profit, and that it's what he's been doing now full-time for years. Yet George isn't quick to take credit. "It's not me," he said on the Rachel Ray show. "It's the content of the page. [It] changed the way they see the world."
There is a tendency to believe that all people with Down Syndrome are mentally deficient, but it is not true. Some are very intelligent; some can learn all that is necessary to live an ordinary independent life; some are limited in what they can do by themselves, but they can still enjoy life and be great friends. Do not put limits on people with Down Syndrome because they are different. Help them to become the best people they can be.
Good job! Thankfully things have come a long way since my brother was born in the '60s. It was considered unthinkable for him to work outside of a sheltered workshop, but he worked in a hospital kitchen most of his adult life.
I guess that's his mum in the background. Heartbreaking, but also so wonderful. New life will come out of his death. I hope my death will be similarly beneficial one day...
In a way, he won’t be completely gone. Parts of him will still be alive. I think that would be oddly comforting.

Instagram is not the only place you can find Tank's Good News. If you're ever filling up gas in the U.S., you might've seen Resch's face on a screen, delivering some positive, uplifting news stories through GSTV. "I don't know if being on gas station TV screens is a cool thing to be proud of and grateful for, but I am," he wrote in a post on Instagram. "These good news stories get out in front of 115 million people per month. If that's all I ever accomplish on earth, then I feel like I've done my part."
I had a company moving operations from the front of the house to the back, so they added a scaffolding on the back and used all the planks from the scaffolding on the front. But my cat loved to lie on the platform right in front of my first floor window. I asked if they could leave one plank, and they left her the whole platform. A very small thing, but it made my cat's day for weeks on end!

If you're really fed up with negative news, there are ways to lessen the negative effects it has on your mental health. The mental health experts at Growth Therapy say that the first step could be limiting your exposure to traditional news sites. Turn off news app notifications and give yourself a limited amount of time per day to read news sites. But don't go full cold turkey; you have to know what's going on in the world.
It's not dumb, I'm 50 and I clearly remember the chair my grandad made for me when I was only two, i still had it when I was 10 though by then it was used for dolls. The chair and grandad are long gone but I can still feel the armrests, the smooth wooden seat in my hands and recall the panic when I got my finger stuck in the heart shaped hole in the middle stretcher of the backrest. He too could have memories of the chair his dad made for him, creating a comforting memory is far from dumb ❤
Only trouble I can see is he'll grow out of it rather quickly, but not TOO quickly!

If you still feel stressed, direct your attention elsewhere. Distract yourself with social activities, an old or a new hobby, or physical exercise. Mindy Hall Czech, a licensed professional counselor with Grow Therapy, recommends getting involved in the causes you care about, whether that's volunteering in animal shelters, joining a non-profit, or getting involved in other organizations.
Something employers who treat their staff like s**t and pay them a pittance do not understand that treating people with human dignity and respect, as well as paying them to their actual worth—-remember, THEY, and not you, are the ones making your company profitable, so you must show your appreciation for them helping you become successful and wealthy—-do not seem to understand. Be an a*****e, and you will constantly have brand new staff or terrible old staff, because you will chase away all the good people who do their jobs well. Fairness, equity, and ethics will instill a sense of loyalty in your people, and they will stay with you and help your company truly prosper. You’ll do the same with your customers, growing a long list of repeat business for years, instead of burning through the entire population by cheating everyone once and pissing them off to the point where they never come back.
When my heart dog was dying, my Director told me I could use bereavement leave. I would have followed that wonderful woman to the ends of the earth. I worked with her until she retired. I was very fortunate to have her in my life.
Earlier this year I was at work and found out on my lunch break that the hospital were withdrawing treatment for my grandpa because there was nothing more they could do. He'd being going downhill for a long time and I knew it was coming but I was still a mess. One of my coworkers saw me crying and asked what was wrong and once I explained and he'd said some words of comfort I told him I was going to try and get myself together and focus on work. I just about managed it too, but when I came back from lunch my manager took me into an office and asked what they could do and I just broke down again. He drove me home and told me to take as much time as I needed and not to worry about work. Our chronically understaffed team pulled together to cover the rest of my shift and my following shifts without complaint. My grandpa passed 3 days later and I will forever be grateful that I had that time. My manager will always be the example for me of what a manager should be like.
It's not a mental health day if you're working. It's nice that they cleared your docket for you, but you shouldn't have had one to begin with. You deserve to grieve in peace.
Our dog use to do this, as soon as us kids went to school she would sneak up to the nursing home, they loved her there because she calmed down a lot of patients, she would leave when it was time for us to come home from school. When she died they put a little plaque in the garden for our Rosie girl.
If you find this, do take a copy. In one image, my Dad was clearly visible sitting in his house. I went looking for it a few days ago, and the image (about 12 years old) had been removed.

I think things like this about my dad all the time. He was a machinist and I got my interest in all things industrial from him. I was at a fastener company that just became a client and I thought "Man...I can't wait to tell dad about this place" then instantly remembered. I wanted to cry, but i kinda got it together when I started talking to him in my head. Lasted for a minute then I wanted to cry again lol
As a young widow myself, I can totally relate to this. Especially today, Thanksgiving where there will not only be one empty chair this year, but sadly, now two as my younger brother lost his wife earlier this year to the same evil that stole my husband away (stroke).
I did that watching a movie with my kids, my mom passed two years ago and I just know she would have loved it.

His name was Odin and he was a Great Pyrenees. There was a fast-moving wildfire and the family HAD to evacuate. Odin refused to leave his herd of goats. The owners did not have time to load the goats onto a trailer (wildfires move FAST) and Odin refused to leave his herd. They had their other pets (cats and dogs) in the car already, but Odin wouldn't get in. Livestock guardian breeds are bred to be independent, intelligent, and stubborn - they are designed to "make decisions" about protecting their livestock when a human isn't present to give them commands. So Odin refused to leave his charges - because a livestock guardian dog protects his herd. So when the family tried to evacuate, Odin refused to go with them. Odin survived the fire and kept his herd alive as well. When they came back, there was Odin, the goats, and even some deer that Odin was protecting as well.
Thank you, Lakota, for taking the time to give more details. I hope Odin's family gave him heaps of praise and rewards

NO! People keep getting this story wrong. This is a livestock guardian dog. His name was Odin and he was a Great Pyrenees. There was a fast-moving wildfire and the family HAD to evacuate. I was playing bingo one night and my husband's Lions club was working it. He told the ladies working in the cage that he had decided to try to take home the pretty lady at table 3. They told him to behave himself. Then he went and got me a pop from the concession, they were flabbergasted that he would do that. I heard one of them say but, you're married, He said, So is she. One of the other club members said to the ladies I know her, I grew up across the street from her cousins, her husband can be a bit of an a$$ at times. So he took me up to the cage and introduced me to the ladies (and my future volunteer partners). We all enjoyed a laugh.
I have a Belgian Malinois (same breed as the dog in the photo.) They are commonly used as military and police dogs because they are very intense, driven working dogs. They are the breed you sometimes see in videos leaping over 10-foot-high fences or running up the side of a gigantic tree to grab a toy in midair. And yet they are naturally gentle and loving - they are a shepherd breed so were initially bred to be herding dogs/herd protectors. My Malinois is 65 lbs and is devoted to my cats (8 lbs and 11 lbs) and he is so incredibly gentle with them. My other dog Stilgar is disabled and my Mal changes his energy levels and play type when he plays with Stilly vs when he plays with other normal dogs. It is amazing how intelligent dogs can be. I'm not surprised a Mal has a deer for a bestie!
It's especially funny because I have a Belgian Malinois (the same breed as the dog in the photo) who has the same coat color. It is called "fawn"! XD My dog is registered as his coat color being "fawn with black mask" on his paperwork. So it is meant to be for the friends above XD

And, he did all this while having a music career, which requires lots of travel. He is one of the best people in music
I don't like rap in general, but somehow I always liked him and his work. Guess his inherent goodness can even travel trough TV.
Same. Some of his songs are a little vulgar for me but for the most part I really like all his music. And I'm not in to rap at all. I though he was great in his movie as well.

I remember reading something years ago about 2 guys who were always in the same bar at the same time but never spoke or even acknowledged each other. On one occasion, one guy was missing but arrived just as the other guy was leaving & said "Sorry I'm late, I was delayed at work"
A few weeks ago, a big rig was parked at my work and I acted like such a kid, walking around the truck, asking the driver a hundred questions. I, unashamedly, asked the driver to blast his horn when he drove away. He thought I was mad, but he blasted his horn.
Load More Replies...I used to do that when I was a kid. Now I have a kid who does it as well. Glad to hear that the truck drivers enjoy it too.
There's a railway bridge near our house, and my 20 year old daughter and I still try to get the train drivers passing underneath to sound their horn for us. Usually they do!
Why are so many and such young girls live in homeless shelters? That is inhumane. In the Netherlands there is no place for children in the shelters. They and their family get a house to live in, benefits, and often an administrator/curator if they can't handle finances. I'd wished people would step up to give them a roof, and then bake and sell the cookies from a home to live in.
Because in the US, capitalism reigns supreme and anything that helps lift the disadvantaged up is the evil "socialism" and would cut into the profits of those poor billionaires.
Load More Replies...Being homeless should not be a thing. We have wats to solve this but it seems nobody in power cares enough.
Replying to replies again sorry!... Homelessness isn't always about substance abuse/issues/addictions. That's a huge misconception that needs to be addressed. What if there was a fire and you lost your home? Look at how many people lost their jobs during the Pandemic. Here in the UK the pubs, bars and various other shops etc shut down. If you can't work? How do you pay your way? The bills stack up and you can get swamped. While the system is far from perfect? At least there is some sort of system, even though it can be really hard to navigate through it to get the relevant information and help. If you're in this sort of position in the UK? Try Citizens Advice and obviously get onto the DWP straight away. Libraries often have computers you can use for the forms. Explain your situation to the library and see if they can help you out with use of the computers... I'm trying to think of other ways too such as buying a cheap smartphone from somewhere...
This is so important! there's still so much stigma around mental health, trauma, and people who struggle with things like this (people who go nonverbal? I'm not very educated on this topic specifically, please correct me if i'm wrong!), and it's lovely to see a teacher so supportive of her students. gives me hope for the world yet <3
Yoooo! I know that feeling! I went to a non-traditional high school. One day a non-verbal kid came to share my study room. After working together in the same room for over a year, one day the teacher wasn't around, so he brought over his textbook to me and pointed at a problem he needed explained. He had never acknowledged me before then, but I was always friendly and telling jokes. From then on he'd come to me when he had problems and there was no teacher. One time I even saw him smile! I miss that little guy
It’s great hey, I had twins in uni who were dubbed as weirdos (I started a few months late into the course), I’d always say hello to them every morning and on the last day I got a simultaneous twin ‘hello’ back, I liked they felt comfy to finally say something.

Load More Replies...To save any confusion restaurants should have a 'last sitting' time rather than a closing time..
Local place has a sign, they closevatv 11, the kitchen closes at 10:30.
Load More Replies...This is dumb. If you close at 9, then you stop taking orders at, say, 8. Anyone walks in after 8, you tell them, "We're no longer accepting orders." Why would you offer to take their order? I don't understand why they make this complicated elsewhere.
I got to the first restaurant (Chinese, it was) I could find in Tallahassee (type that ten tymes fast)*, Florida, at 8:55, not immediately knowing what time it was, I saw the closing time of 9 pm, and turned to leave, and the manager came out and asked if I wanted to eat. He said they close the door at nine, but he pays his staff the time they are there. Service was prompt, but I didn't feel rushed, and I left a big tip. nowadays, I'd leave a 20 star review for that, but this was in the 90s. * I also have trouble knowing when to stop with Mississississippi.
Hahaha yes English is hard but I like your Mississississippi! And nice restaurant, too,
Load More Replies...I can't count the number of inconsiderates who would walk into our office supply store one minute before closing and not leave till they were good and finished, no matter how long that took. One regular did this with huge orders, but he also brought in things to share, like his home movie from a David Bowie concert. Him, we loved :-)
I was travel agent in a former life- lol. One day a customer comes in after closing ( i usually had the door still open being crazy busy and all) and then looked at his watch... " oh man I"m sorry. Didn't realize the time." I told him to take a seat and tell me what he was looking for .He ended being one of my best customers and recommended at least 10 more to me. Sometimes it's just nice to not send people away.
People in my store will keep shopping and asking questions right up until the minute of close (and beyond) like they think the time it takes to check them out doesn’t count??
I feel you, thats why i for quite a while now close my shop 5 minutes before closing time. Not if somebod is in the shop of course but you dont need to come in 3 minutes before closing just because you need you powertrip. Not with me. Never in my whole career of almost 30 years now somebody came in that late and started shopping like there is no tomorrow. Never. If you want to shop peacefully and want me to advise you, you not come in at the last minute. This is of course not true for food, thats different because people do indeed realize they have no milk just before you close. But clothes? No, come back tomorrow. There was never a case of a dead person in front of my shop in the morning because he could not buy a jacket.

There's a movie with this as the storyline. It was a beautiful movie.
And what's holding up the traffic going the other way? Also, the language of the street markings is Portuguese, so I am guessing that the photo was taken in Portugal or Brazil.
Probably normal traffic, you don't find too many 8 lane highways in the middle of nowhere, so this looks like a major city. They found it easier to shut down this side for some reason.

Rabbits eat poo straight from their bottoms (rabbits have the little round poos you see and also produce a sticky smelly poo that they eat as they can’t absorb the nutrients on its first passing). Mine also like to sleep in their litter trays and poo in their hay trays whilst eating. Trust me, the little man isn’t going to be bothered!

I am 42 as well and I feel the same!
