Anyone else so sick of the vaccine argument? Should mention I'm not anti-vax. Have had covid twice myself. Edit: Was asked how I had it twice. First time I likely caught it in a post office. Only place I'd been for weeks as most of the country was shut. Second time my partner tested positive and then I did.

There are people in my country who believe that Ivermektin (actualy horse pill to get them rid of tapeworms) can cure covid. Eventhougt, there is no study to prove that, some people eat this, they overdose on it and end up in hospital with covid and also kidney failure...

Similar happened to me. My art teacher almost failed me because she said my drawings weren't free-hand. They totally were and I did one of them all over again with her there, she shut up after that.

Exactly! A sauna doesn't have to be uncomfortable to be 'good for you' at all! It should be something relaxing, that's all. It might be good for your hearth health, but there's not that much evidence that saunas have health benefits. Still, getting uncomfortably hot is not good.

I’ve never understood the appeal of a sauna. I get up in Louisiana. I grew up in a sauna.

Physical discomfort is the body's warning that the water is too hot therefore unsafe for you. Get out of saunas that are too hot for you. A sauna should be calming, soothing, with no more than the very minor discomfort of sweating a little. One should be drinking water to prevent dehydration.

Never thought I would live in a world where people are listening to a Podcaster and politicians for medical advice. Yet here we are! Intubating them and putting them on vents because the Ivermectin that Joe Rogan said would help them has NOT worked.

Owning something doesn't necessarily mean that you have used what you own. Then as they say "one man's hot is another man's pleasant." So IF you want to discuss hot versus not hot, then quote some temperatures!

Yeah. I'll just say we don't have over 2 million saunas in Finland only for sweating pounds off for weighing.

I have to disagree - slightly - the proper feeling of euphoria can be achieved with enduring a little bit of discomfort in the heat, then cooling off in very cold water. You should not torture yourself though, we have senses for exactly that purpose, self preservation. (Finnish person here, and saunas abroad are always too cool - except Estonia and Russia)

Great response. Same for "no pain, no gain". depends on the onset of pain, type of pain, location, depth, intensity ... MOST pain is NOT good, & not indication of gain. A sauna session for most people, is not a life threatening contest of pain fortitude. How would that be therapeutically positive? Safe? Enjoyable? relaxing?

So true. And I live in Finland, we have more saunas than cars. It's supposed to be relaxing time, if you are uncomfortable you should leave before you faint. Also reading the comment about "hot is uncomfortable" felt like I'm having a stroke

I personally don't like sauna's. I've been too q few, but everytime I feel like I can't breathe in them, but I've never thought the temperature was too hot.

Depends on the sauna. Some are so hot it's almost unbearable, others are mild and relaxing. 🙂

You can sit quite comfortably in a sauna even when the temperature is above 80°C. (176°F) But limit your stay in a sauna to the recommended 15 to 20 minutes.
