“And I Thought I Was Lazy”: 50 People Who Took Laziness To Infuriating Levels (New Pics)
While I am not an expert, I want to believe that being lazy is normal and natural if not taken to an extreme. The extreme being a degree where it’s not just inconvenient but also counter-intuitive, self-harming, and it actually starts affecting other people.
Someone being so lazy that it infuriates you fits the bill, and that’s the name of the game in this listicle. Folks online are sharing times when they found someone being so lazy (or the legacy thereof) that it hurt their brain, either figuratively or literally because they probably had to suffer the consequences.

People That Do This Are Jerks
I Went To Snap The Beach At Margate And Wish I Hadn't. Is It Because The Council Are Not Putting Bins On The Beach, Or Is Lazy Visitors At Fault? Either Way It's An Utter Disgrace
If there is no bin on the beach then it goes without saying, you take your trash with you and dispose of it responsibly.
This makes me sad. Like to think that all the plastic in the ocean is the result of industry or accidental waste and then realise no, it's normal everyday people being shīt.
I hate people after seeing pics like this. Why are humans as a collective so foul?
That was my reaction too, but then I thought, that hundreds or thousands of good people HAS taken their trash with them, and that is why the beach is not completely covered with litter.
Load More Replies...Side note- been to Margate, you know tacky seaside town with amusements and all. However I DISTINCTLY remember there being bins (mainly remember the seagulls trying to eat my food I digress) but people just get of your effing backsides and make an effort
Yep, I remember that episode. The school was picking trash at the beach.
Load More Replies...I live in a seaside town about 30 minutes drive from Margate... I can sadly confirm that over the summer ALL kent beaches end up like this. It infuriates us as locals as generally speaking, it's tourists who don't clean up. We have many beach cleaners (we all volunteer) and at least once a week in summer will get 100 bags of rubbish in one day. It's infuriating but also sometimes, quite soul destroying:0(
I live about an hour away and my step grandparents came from Margate, and by pure coincidence I was telling my best friend how lovely the beach was there when I was little (late 70s to early 80s) and how much it's deteriorated there- significantly! I always opt for Minnis or Viking bay now
Load More Replies...But this is different, unfortunately. The day after Christmas is once a year, and maybe they will be there to clean up that trash. This was just a regular day.
Load More Replies...We take our students beach cleaning every year (high school in Greece), put them into groups of 4-5, where one student tracks the number/kind of trash they pick up. Each group learns quickly that it's useless to try to count cigarette butts (the part left at the end of smoking)...1000s per group, after cleaning the beach for maybe an hour and a half. Worst finds? Used diapers.
Her in Denmark there was a sort of experiment a few years ago. There was this parking lot of sorts near a forest where ppl would throw their trash all over the place. Everywhere except in the trash bins. So the local counsil removed the bins and now this parking lot is trash-free. Because it seems that if there are bins ppl will assume others will take their trash with them to the bin. If there are no bins ppl take it with them (mostly. I'm sure there are execptions). Weird sometimes, how human brains work.
Maybe they should put up a sign that states "Beach closed due to trash", maybe people would think before they litter.
I remember seeing an article where the volunteers from the community of Lake Tahoe were out on the beaches after 4th of July picking up all the trash the "partiers" left. It was worse than even what is shown in this picture. They picked up tons garbage. Literally, tons. And yes there are plenty of trash cans around on the beaches.
I dont see having no bin as an excuse, pick up your trash!! even if it means hauling it home just do it
I frolicked on the beaches of Margate as a child. Sorry to see this.
I'll bet that left over drinks were taken home. This is inexcusable.
Far out. Bondi Beach in Sydney looks 10 times worse than this on Christmas Day, NYE and Australia Day. The worst part is that it seems to mainly be tourists doing it.
What?! This is an insane state for any beach!!! Looks like they're counting on the seagulls to take care of it!
People are just GARBAGE.... Just like all the garbage they leave behind.. How hard is it to bring back what you brought?
Humans are the greatest polluters of their own nest. Why do so many just leave their refuse behind? It makes you question their attitudes to life and care.
and they ban dogs because they sat there will be mess left behind!
Thinking I’m not seeing any bins, I’d be look’n at the council. Maybe this saves some money?
There is several massive industrial sized bins along the promenade at the top of the stairs. I live in Margate, and it's laziness at its finest. During the summer season, the local council has to plough the beach every morning to try and clear the rubbish up, after these lazy gobshites want to dump it as its easier
It's lazy people. I saw a picture of a beach after a concert, it looked just like this.
Apparently, MANY do not understand human responsibility and couldn’t care less! 🤯
Looks like there was some sort of party and the asswipes couldn't pick up and take their trash with them! How effin hard is it to bring a garbage bag with you for clean up? This angers me to no end.
Except for the seagulls choking on plastic. Unless there is something edible in there, it is of no use to them.
Load More Replies...This is the story behind this photo https://www.kentonline.co.uk/thanet/news/warning-issued-to-beach-litterbugs-210182/
In 2008 I had to do community service because reasons and I got to do it at beach of Dana point. For a minute I picked trash, found a dead seagull on the shore, tried to figure out what killed it and couldn't, CSI wouldn't return my calls. Just kind of kicked sand over it cause I didn't want to touch it or come near it, but no service or anything, I carry the burden of guilt for this to this very day
Humans. The superior being. Ha! Humans haven't evolved beyond sh!tting where they eat. Superior? More like disgusting.
Both , fewer bins make it easier to leave rubbish around. But people should be responsible for getting rid of their rubbish safely
I see many seagulls. Where I live they tear open the litter bags and make a real mess. Apart from people being trash themselves, if the bags were just left on the beach this can easily be the seagulls' work. They're worse than dogs or cats
We have seagulls that will pull stuff out of bins and if you didn't know better you could think it was people littering - however in this case I suspect bad people
just letting everyone know in advance this type of thing was the reason for me finally snapping and going on a rampage. Makes me very angry
Elizabeth Is A Lazy Jerk
Laziness is considered to be a lack of individual effort in order to perform or act as expected. So, being capable of doing something, but choosing not to, fits that criteria.
Some psychologists, however, point out that there’s another, synonymous term, procrastination, that has a fine nuance to distinguish it from laziness. With this one, it’s choosing not to do something after having had intentions of doing it. Laziness, on the other hand, is never having had intentions of doing it in the first place.

Anyway, if you were to say that procrastination is a bit of an epidemic among folks, you wouldn’t be wrong. Studies have shown that up to 20% of adults feel that they struggle with procrastination. That goes double (well, double and a half) with college students, of whom 50% have trouble with partaking in the forbidden fruit. And this applies to everyone, even the most hard-working individuals out there.

The causes of procrastination come in many shapes, flavors and sizes. One of the more surprising finds among researchers is that it can serve as a coping mechanism. Not for coping with time management issues—rather for emotion management.
For some, finishing a task of a job might bring up anxiety or even a general feeling of avoidance. Putting it off, though, helps tackle the problem. Heck, procrastination can be interpreted as a rational reaction to an unpleasant situation, hence putting it off until you’re ready.

People Sweat, And That's Fine, But Who Leaves Their Puddles Behind Like This Without Wiping Down?
Another reason why procrastination is a thing is, in simple terms, it’s boring and icky. The brain learns that habitual behaviors and actions can be skipped by means of procrastinating, instead going for things that would be more enjoyable.
Interestingly enough, age can be a factor too. Because we have this thing called the prefrontal cortex, which is all about planning, decision making and concentration (among other things), having one that hasn’t matured yet might lead to some more rash decisions, like skipping out on doing work now without considering the impact.

Go on just take the last f*****g icecube you can't inconvenience me any more than you already have
Other reasons include more run-of-the-mill explanations, like lack of energy, willpower and sleep, having learned laziness from someone, distraction and some folks might just be born with it. Yes, you can have personality characteristics, like low conscientiousness and impulsivity, that might make you more prone to putting things off. Heck, being a perfectionist can have the same effect—it kinda ties in with the whole unpleasant emotional baggage of doing a task because of the self-imposed high standard.

Psssshhh. Some of these posts, it takes a lot of effort to be that lazy!!

But, to be or not to be lazy is trivial. The key question here is whether it’s good or not. The fact that it can get you into trouble because of the habit of not doing stuff on time or at all, being unreliable as a human being and that snowballing into bigger issues is definitely not good. But does it directly affect health and well being? Science says it doesn’t know (yet), what is known is that it can prevent positive behaviors from happening. You know, like wanting to exercise and be healthy!

Lazy People Ruin Frozen Items Putting It On Random Shelves
How My Sister Leaves The Bathroom
Oh, that's how my former colleague used to leave our common desk. Sheets of paper, pens, clips, agendas, plus personal items such as lipstick, comb, mirror, half-eaten croissant etc. Until one day when I decided I had enough of it. I took a big plastic bag and put all of her scattered items inside. She was outraged and escalated it to our manager, who was on my side (moreover, he said I could throw all that "garbage" away from then on). You wouldn't believe how tidy she became after that :)))
And because we’re human—i.e. complex beings—perception often throws a spanner in the works in understanding whether we’re truly lazy or not.
Say a person has a daily to-do list of 20 things, but only ends up going through maybe half of them by the end of the day. In that case, of course there’s going to be that view that we’re lazy—just look at all the stuff you’ve been slacking off on! In reality, however, that’s not being lazy, but rather having far too much to do trying to exceed a physical and mental limit. If anything, that’s working too hard.

I'd take a picture first as proof then claim both bikes. Technically not your fault because you had to remove your bike while another was stuck to it.
Considering all of this, face the fact that being lazy isn’t bad and it’s unavoidable. Consider it forced rest. As for how to get the biggest bang out of your buck by not letting procrastination and laziness take the top spot, try these on for size:
Prioritize your tasks to make sure time-sensitive ones are done first; punch down larger projects into smaller, more approachable tasks; limit your distractions at the workplace; and if that doesn’t help, create an environment that helps you focus, i.e. music.

That’s foul. TWO different organic substances (husks and saliva) that will ROT. Organic stuff decays, people. It doesn’t just go into magical stasis. Eurgh.
The list goes on: don’t forget to take regular breaks to reward your brain with something less daunting and more stimulating; keep your focus on the end-goal as it might motivate you more; move around or exercise during breaks to keep the right chemicals circling around in you; track your healthy habits, like 'I’ve done X amounts of work' for context and self-reflection; and you can always get a buddy to hold you accountable.

I'm surprised how many of these are married/partnered. I can't fathom being in a relationship with someone so disgusting, let alone live with them.
Seriously. My other half does many of these. If I didn't have kids, it'd be a divorce-maker for sure. :(

Yes, it is infuriating.

A sad yet easy conclusion to such post is that only harsh punishment and shaming stop trashy behaviors. In the cleanest countries, if you throw a paper to the ground, you get a very harsh fine. That’s how you make people assimilate respect in their daily behavior. Education clearly isn’t enough, some people only fear punishment.
I would like to clarify some of these. this is in no way an apology post to excuse all these horrendous acts, but rather to clarify that we are not ALL like this. How some people can be seen as lazy, they might just have something going on in their head. I myself have ADHD, so some of the things like these I've done, have not been a case of "i dont wanna do it, its not my job to do this, its the staff's" its just that ive forgotten after zoning out for a while, and i dont realize it. But this is not the case for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE ON THIS LIST. for the kids that leave stuff a wreck, their excuse that i find only works up until maybe like, 9-10 years old because they just earned their own responsibilites is that they are a kid, and dont know any better, but its pointless to argue against entitled parents who let them do that, until the aforementioned age. Just found out about word limits, so im going to make each point seperate in the replies.
For the tourists on the plane who just left it in utter dismay their excuse is probably "i had a long flight, i dont wanna do any work". if you've had a long flight, you are probably a tourist FROM canada going here( take my advice, please dont) or visiting family who lives here, not going TO canada, so that excuse isnt valid. You are a grown a*s adult, clean up after yourselves, especially if you are a tourist. people like you are the reason why other countries have to give locations either A: a ban or at the very least a time limit on tourism and tourist hours, or B: a really heavy fine on littering and stuff like that, the latter of these two is probably more likely. Im disgusted by those people.
