These are the people we complain about when complaining about the US, not the normal people living there. Maybe clarifying that can prevent a huge us vs Europe fight here.
Reasoning with such stubborn people can be quite frustrating. And some people deal with these hopeless instances by calling out stupid people online. Just like members of the r/facepalm group, who have been doing this since August 2009. In the last 15 years, they have amassed a community of more than 8 million people, who often share the most disappointing moments they have witnessed.
But what exactly is stupidity? It’s when our ability to learn and understand things gets messed up. Several prominent psychologists believe that cognitive limitations are the reason behind people’s foolish actions and irrational beliefs. Research highlights how human cognition and decision-making persistently cause these biases. Depending on the situation, people switch from quick, intuitive thinking to slow, logical thinking.

My wife wanted to not have an epidural. Me trying to be the supportive husband came up with a safe word to basically say she was actually in need of it and done. She thought the whole thing was silly so I picked something random: banana. A few hours in she said she needed one. I started to say ok are you sure do you... Didn't finish my sentence and she said super seriously 'f***** banana -random curse words- stupid f****** banana'. Maybe had to be there but I still laugh about it to this day. She swears she didn't say that. She got one, I didn't think any less of her, and she gave birth to our son! Son ended up loving bananas and I grow a bunch of them.

There IS however a very common trauma response to the pain of childbirth where the brain sometimes blocks out the memory of the pain. That's why so many people say "You forget the pain" when people express concern of going through that mess again. My brain decided it hated it as much as I did and I never forgot. One and done!

Well, I can't speak to being burned alive, but labor pain was on a scale that defies my ability to describe. It drowned out all other things, so that I just felt that I was made of pain.

I was adamant to have my first child naturally, which I did, and never did it again. My next two children were delivered with the assistance of an epidural and it was a completely different experience. I was not in pain. I was not exhausted. I was not grumpy and I enjoyed the experience so much more.

OMG! I was born in '62' a time when we didn't have sex education at school and my parents didn't discuss it at home (found out from teen friends who 'tried' it) - BUT we did have Human Biology (Secondary School), which discussed conception/pregnancy, and our teacher even talked about her experience of being in labour. Most likely to put us off, haha
Self-awareness helps us gain deeper insights into our behavior. We can also try learning from our past experiences. Consider a scenario where someone made a foolish comment on Insta. People online called them out and corrected them. After this experience, the person might develop a habit of verifying facts before posting them.

While I saw this meme going around, some fact checking websites debunked it. You can watch the full video where, the video explains why slavery is evil and needed to abolished. It is a program with time traveling kids, and in one episode they go back to the late 1400s and have an argument with Columbus over slavery, they have Columbus using arguments that come from his writing, and the kids argue against it, and Columbus concedes to them that slavery is bad and should be abolished, but that it would take generations for society to change. Essentially the exact opposite of this meme
