I keep seeing this thing about kinder eggs being banned in the US but I buy them for my daughter all the time. The toy is in one side of the packaging and the candy is in the other.

I got my engagement ring in a kinder egg. funnily enough, didn't choke on it. husband did quite a good job of putting it all back together in a way that looked no worse than expected for having been taken out of a coat pocket.

Its something from the FDA I believe. I did order some from ebay though for my son. Got them from Germany. I think they might have melted then harden again during transport. Or maybe they were just expired? They didn't taste good

REALLY?? Kinder Eggs were banned?? Not that I ever bought one. Expensive for chocolate and a throw away plastic toy.

The whole reason they were banned, wasn't because of the candy, or anything, but because of the way the capsule inside was made. Basically, they were a choking hazard to children. The company re-designed them to put holes in either end of the capsule, so if it did get swallowed, it wouldn't choke someone.

Is this a serious query? Some one is comparing chocolate eggs to guns? What am I missing?

Alas, the Constitution doesn't guarantee a right to Kinder. I mean, Pres. George H.W. Bush tried to great a Kinder, gentler America, and look where that got him.
