“Internet Gold”: 50 Times People Came Across Something So Hilarious or Unusual, They Just Had to Screenshot it
Saw a funny meme? Screenshot. An uncanny coincidence of something on your phone? Screenshot. Can’t believe what Jennifer just posted? Screenshot, screenshot, screenshot!
One can summon the finger combination needed to save an image on a screen nearly instantaneously. That just goes to show how much of an automatic action it has become. It allows us to share images with people and avoid the need for long explanations or descriptions that might suck the fun out of certain situations. (Kind of like when you have to explain a joke.)
The images from the r/screenshots subreddit sure need no description. Ranging from funny snippets of conversations to comical layouts, these gems speak for themselves. Scroll down for Bored Panda’s list of some of Reddit’s finest or check out these screenshots of Tinder conversations likely to be equally as amusing.

This Is Needed!
Screenshots cater to people in numerous ways. They can work like pages of a notebook with reminders of places to visit or events to check out. Sometimes they become your assortment of jokes (that you have seen, liked, and borrowed) for the next time you’re trying to impress a bunch of friends with your wit. From time to time, you might even use screenshots to prove your point in a discussion or spread the news about something.
These are only a few instances that prove how convenient it is to be able to take pictures of your screen. In addition to that, it allows you to do so on nearly any application or website. Taking a screenshot is sometimes the only possible way to copy or save information.

Saving information in a screenshot is undoubtedly very convenient. However, it is worth remembering that, in certain cases, it might not go unnoticed. Certain applications inform the author of whatever it is that you’re taking a picture of, so you don’t go screenshotting and sharing others’ information without their knowledge.
This often happens with pictures shared in private messages. Some applications—Instagram or Snapchat, for instance—alert the sender if the recipient takes a screenshot of a picture they’ve sent.

The likelihood of your content being screenshotted is never zero. That is why it is extremely important to evaluate everything you want to share online before doing so. Once it goes live, there is no way to delete it.
Even if you remove the content from your profile, someone somewhere might have already saved their screen with your statements on it, and it’s up to them now whether to share it or not. That might create a chain reaction and your content might end up being shared even if it was online just for a mere minute.

Around The Globe
Well, Reddit?
Screenshots often work great as proof in certain situations. Everything said and done can be saved as a picture, which often states names, dates, locations, and other useful information. Whether it works for your own good or dooms you for your behavior, it encourages people to take responsibility for their actions.

It is not only such data as names, dates, and content that might be useful in certain cases. Screenshots provide important metadata as well, which allows people to delve deeper into specific situations if needed.
For instance, accessing the metadata of screenshots using specific tools provides more information and context on when the content was shared, seen, etc. It can work as evidence and help while solving crime or analyzing misconduct.

With the current rate of technological advancement, screenshots are becoming a universal data format that can be relatively easily analyzed with the help of machine learning.

Reddit Is Meta Again
Okk
Advancements in technology can also ease the process of data entry. With the optical character recognition (OCR) process, it is possible to extract the text, numbers, and other information provided in the screenshot and save time as there is no need to enter the data manually.
Why Was The Egg Banned?
Well if they came with little guns inside them, we could have both. And tiny little shoot outs. Pew pew
"Now, I'm English, and as such, I crave disappointment. That's why I buy Kinder Eggs. Horrible chocolate, a crappy toy - a double whammy of disillusionment!" - Bill Bailey
Maybe we could just chuck kinder egg toys at each other, rather than firing bullets? Those things could put an eye out, surely!
There's no specific ban on Kinder eggs. Foods are not allowed to contain non-food items, which is generally a sound rule.
Kinder eggs *are* banned from being imported into the US. They have a US variant they sell here and those are what's allowed.
Load More Replies...American here… what kind of dipshit owns 300 guns??? Just how scared are you to shop at Walmart, Clayton?
Because guns protect us from gun violence and children can choke on eggs…freedom yeehaw/s
11 children died from drop sided cribs, so we stopped making them. Now, let’s talk about Uvalde.
It was banned for several years because the plastic in the toys was not BPA free. Now that they are in compliance you can buy them again.
I don’t think I’ll ever understand the obsession with guns. Some kind of fantasy. People who’ve been in war zones don’t collect them like mints.
I'm a two time combat veteran and I have guns so that statement is false.
Load More Replies...To be fair, it wasn't just Kinder Eggs, small toys that could be choking hazards were banned from everything, even traditionally American products like Cracker Jack. Personally I feel like if you are dumb enough to eat the toy surprise and choke on it, that's Darwinism, your loss to the gene pool would only be beneficial.
oh Jesus, so I'm in NH and *we* are currently deciding whether or not to legalize STREET WEAPONS. like brass knuckles and s**t. and we JUST passed a casino. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG. I'm just excited they are bringing back street fighting, so I can finally see the hoods and greasers duke it out with song and dance!!!
* Kinder Joy Eggs were released in the United States in 2017 containing two separated compartments, one side has a toy and the other has the chocolate, thereby abiding with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act * Trying to bring in a Kinder Surprise Egg into the United States can have you facing fines up to $2,500 per egg. Since they are not illegal in Canada and Mexico, U.S Border Patrol will confiscate the eggs at the border. * The United States isn’t the only country to ban Kinder Surprise eggs, Chile has also banned them since 2016, and they were almost banned in the United Kingdom in 2000.
TBH that likely has more to do with legal liability than safety.
I keep seeing this thing about kinder eggs being banned in the US but I buy them for my daughter all the time. The toy is in one side of the packaging and the candy is in the other.
Thats only avaliable in america. The real kinder wgg is like the old wonderball. It has the toy inside the chocolate wgg.
Load More Replies...I got my engagement ring in a kinder egg. funnily enough, didn't choke on it. husband did quite a good job of putting it all back together in a way that looked no worse than expected for having been taken out of a coat pocket.
no kid had ever choked on an ar15, and thus they are completely safe.
Well yeah cus no one ever accidentally choked on a toy hidden in a gun 🙄
REALLY?? Kinder Eggs were banned?? Not that I ever bought one. Expensive for chocolate and a throw away plastic toy.
Not to worry US residents. Kinder Surprise eggs are still available on the black market, so if you know how to navigate the Dark Web, have a great Easter.
Protip: people who own 300 guns are collectors. They aren't the ones doing the shooting.
Every time I mail something to a friend in the States I slip in a few Kinder Eggs. #StickingItToTheMan
The whole reason they were banned, wasn't because of the candy, or anything, but because of the way the capsule inside was made. Basically, they were a choking hazard to children. The company re-designed them to put holes in either end of the capsule, so if it did get swallowed, it wouldn't choke someone.
I used to live off this stuff. Actually still do just the bueno version. 🧡
Alas, the Constitution doesn't guarantee a right to Kinder. I mean, Pres. George H.W. Bush tried to great a Kinder, gentler America, and look where that got him.
Unfortunately the United States has this constitution thingie. Everyone knows the guys that wrote it knew everything about everything and for sure realized what made sense 230 years ago would be totally applicable now.
What happens if you take a Kinder egg onto an airplane? Just wondering.
I am currently in Canada. Wonder what would happen if I attempt to bring some eggs back with me to the US?
I haven't seen a kid choke on an assault rifle, but swallowing a small plastic thing can be dangerous.
I actually hate this misconception. The FDA merely made a rule that edible items couldn't contain inedible objects. Kinder eggs just happened to fit that criteria, it wasn't a targeted attack or a big discussion. Do I find it silly? Yes. Is there any reason to compare Kinder eggs to guns? No.
Accuracy doesnt matter to them. Thats why they need automatic assult rifles to hunt.

Hmm
1. Benevolent to all. 2. Can not be killed by bullets. 3. Does not age. Seems legit.
Another interesting application of AI is using it to classify website screenshots. The Urlbox team developed a model that classifies screengrabs at nearly 99% accuracy, which can later be analyzed to help ameliorate the user experience.

Screenshot-related technology was also developed by a team of interns at Microsoft. They used AI to create a tool that allows them to retrieve image intelligent insights just from a screenshot alone.

I Can’t Even Begin
Screenshotting can undoubtedly be fun and useful, however, it is important to think about what should be shared and what’s better kept to yourself. A lot of information is already readily available to the public, such as Jennifer’s post in the chat room or some pictures on social media. But some people screenshot texts and other private content, which should not be shared with the vast majority.
I Mean Technically He's Right
That's When You Know They Have Lost It
Oh My God
How many times have you scrolled your phone and stumbled upon something rather unusual or entertaining? Unusual enough to require a screenshot for others to believe (pics or it didn’t happen!) or so entertaining that it’s definitely worth creating an email chain about. This only proves that some screenshots speak louder than a thousand words.
