1.4M People Are Chuckling At These Pictures That “Go Hard,” So Here Are 50 Of The Very Best (New Pics)
Internet culture can be weird. What do you mean we made a dog named Gabe famous for his singing, turned eating Tide Pods into a challenge, and found a Canadian boy who went on to become the biggest pop star in the world? But perhaps the best part of the Internet is how silly and meta it can be.
Isn't the world just a little bit brighter when we choose to have some whimsy in it? Bored Panda is inviting you to have some fun with these pictures from the Instagram page "Pics That Go Hard." They're weird and nonsensical, but utterly delightful. Don't try to understand it, Pandas. Just feel it and let the chuckles wash over you.

What's the one common denominator in all of these pictures? I'd say that it's whimsy. A person dunking a basketball in a Teletubby Poe costume? A log of wood chained to a fence because it rhymes with "dog"? Perhaps it veers more on the side of absurd and weird, but I'd say that it's whimsical as well. And I think that most of us could do with more whimsy in our lives, don't you agree, Pandas?
Sure, "Pics That Go Hard" does whimsy in a nonsensical, absurd way. And whimsy, as most people understand it, is probably embodied by Waymond from the 2022 film Everything Everywhere All at Once. His version is way more wholesome, with all the googly eyes he puts on things and his gentle and supportive attitude.
avi loeb of harvard says this is the latest picture of the Atlas 3 comet, and that "it's up to no good"
Pretty cool. It would only be weird if the driver had to pull the seat forward.

there's a dog groomer in our town who does this. bet carlos charges less.
There's this notion that once we grow up, we have to be serious. No more whimsy, no more silly memes, no more stupid childish things. But even mental health experts agree that most people need to remain in touch with their inner child. Even if it is through silly memes and pics that "go hard."
Therapist and Licensed Medical Social Worker Erica Schwartzberg explains that most of us feel "a quiet grief" once we grow up. And that's why we need to keep the silliness alive. "We need low-stakes joy, creative messes, and adult 'playdates' that aren't just drinks or dinner — things like rollerskating, collage nights, walking with no destination, or laughing so hard you forget to check your phone," Schwartzberg says. "These aren't just cute distractions; they're nervous system nourishment."
Well one of us is biting his nípple. Edit, I cannot believe the word n ipple is now censored. Hey BP, which făscist regime are you using to base yourselves on?
The Tom and Jerry short in question is Muscle Beach Tom from 1956. Yes, I’m THAT kind of nerd.
I have seen this very picture elsewhere with SpongeBob on the screen. I don't know what was actually being shown but people are having fun Photoshopping different cartoons into the picture. EDIT: I've just run a Google lens image search and the SpongeBob version is the first match.
This is the only example of "boys will be boys" I want to see
So, what can whimsy look like, exactly? "Happiness expert" and author Gretchen Rubin describes it as adding imagination and surprise into our daily lives. The experts at the Rocky Mountain Relational Therapy refer to it as "playfulness woven into the ordinary." Whimsy can be as simple as putting stickers on your work monitor, talking to your plant, or lighting a scented candle with intention.
I never could figure out why Weimaraner dogs are unsettling, until now.
"Stop kicking the back of my seat. And no I won't exchange seats with you. Neither will my human."
Bringing some whimsy into your everyday routine can help you feel better. It probably won't erase stress, grief, or anxiety, but it might help manage them. Small things like a goofy name on a calendar or going for a walk without a destination can help ground you in the moment and tether you to the here and now.

Seriously? Why would he do that? I’m worried he likes little boys. Yuck. 😰
Load More Replies...The positive effect of whimsy can also be explained by neuroscience. Say you make a cup of coffee in a colorful, whimsical mug every morning, and you use the same one every morning. It becomes a sort of ritual, and rituals, according to researchers at Harvard, help us deal with anxiety. It gives us a sense of control, as if our brains are telling us: "You are safe, you are steady."
I hate people having pet monkeys also people who dress monkeys in clothes (please don't be mean to me it just my opinion)
It’s photo shopped lmao they were like that , the person taking it photoshopped the jeans on , you is safe , n don’t worry I hate that to

Whimsical acts also bring novelty into our lives. Have you ever thought of swapping your boring white plates with custom ceramic ones? Perhaps ones decorates with cats, ducks, or flowers? When we encounter something new, our brain releases a dose of dopamine, and changing some of our ordinary everyday objects into more whimsical ones might give us a micro-dose of dopamine each time we use them.
More like Hello KITTY!!! (Must be said in loud deep voice, nearly growling, to get the full effect.)
Load More Replies...I mean, I like cats too, I'm even owned by one, but this... just no.
I was zooming in on the licence plate because I was SURE it was Mexico, lol. Seen plenty of these

Oh, man, takes me back to pregnancy days. I swear, I'm still gonna invent that belly sling for pregnant women. I'd make a fortune.
On the other hand, by creating whimsical rituals, you're also creating a routine. The predictability of a routine can be calming. The brain's anxiety control center, the amygdala, calms down when we have and stick to an established routine. Research also shows that consistent morning routines lower cortisol (the stress hormone) levels. So, maybe it's time to incorporate stirring your coffee three times clock-wise every morning?
All previous commenters talking trash don't seem to have a sense of humor. This made me laugh a little.
I feel dumb as it took me awhile to realize what was going on. I wondered why anyone would want to stick their head, legs, and hands through that cardboard cut-out. 😕

Load More Replies...Playfulness also gets quite a bad rap. Contrary to popular belief, it's not childish and shouldn't be abandoned once we grow up. As Dr. Stuart Brown, the founder of The National Institute for Play, explains, we were made to play. When we let our guard down and play or act in playful ways, it's us telling our nervous system that we're safe. Don't be afraid to name your plants, talk to your pets, or add a colorful detail to your outfit. It's not attention-seeking or quirky – it's you quite literally doing self-care.
The loo roll is THE WRONG WAY AROUND !! eugh in hospitality,it’s under not over 🤦♀️saves people using so bloody much

Load More Replies...Oh s**t, bro. You are in BIG trouble now. This is worse than when your mom said to go cut a switch for her to beat you with, you come back with a twig, then she goes out and brings back the whole d**n tree. It’s worse because cutting a switch is spontaneous, whereas she ALREADY had this thing just waiting for you.
No creases and no toe scuffs.... If you can accept this quirk, you got him for life.
I love you, I really love you, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE MY NEW CLEAN WHITE DESIGNER SHOES WAY WAY WAY MORE.
You can buy little shields that go inside the toe of your shoes to keep them from creasing.

Actually an easy fix, you just need to use external speakers and shut off the internal speakers via the settings if they don't automatically turn off when connecting the external speakers.
Load More Replies...Maybe he is. It's either that, or he's taking a picture of her shoes.
Load More Replies...This one is depressing. It's bad enough that we commodify food, shelter, health care, etc. People really need to stop commodifying themselves.
These are the end times. I mean, with the current situation in America, I know it already, but this is comical relief in the face of so many horrors lol 😀
I used to love pizza rolls... Until shrinkflation caused the filling to become practically an afterthought inside a puffed pillow. I even tried different packages at different times to make sure it wasn't an anomaly. Sadly, it wasn't.
That's one person who didn't mind having his photo taken vs 14 people who did!

Load More Replies...Tide pod and the like. Never understood this - it isn't brave, doesn't require overcoming an irrational fear, or demand you to do something that MAY be dangerous, but something that actually not only IS dangerous, but rather garuantees you to be hurt.
