Sure, some countries do it better than others, but it would be pretty hard to find a healthcare system without any flaws. Whether it's piles of administrative work for doctors, or long hours in the waiting room for patients, there’s bound to be problems.
So, we put together a list of memes capturing the weird, stressful, and even hilarious aspects of life in and around hospitals. After all, laughter is the best medicine (which is easy to say when you have antibiotics).

Actual TRUTH! people purposely try to go to jail just for the medical treatment. (And it’s still not great) but at least BiG INsurance Can’t DENY
Scrolling the comments on BP always cheers me up. The funny ones make me smile, the serious ones make me think, and the lunatics make me realise my life could be soooo much worse by being them.
That's orthostatic hypotension likely due to dehydration Jimbo
Did they knock you out? I would've thought that it would be more likely in the 1840s to just to it while fully conscious and then tell the patient to man up and deal with the pain
Not quite. 40% for the US, 30% for the UK, and the outcomes are better in the UK. Life expectancy in the UK is 81; in the US it's 78.
Funny how none of the options from the poll are depicted in the memes. Most of them are about high costs.
100% THIS! It's our corporate greed and total lack of empathy that define US "healthcare."
Load More Replies...I actually saw a doctor yesterday, for the first time in about 10 years (for seeing a GP, I've had a couple of hospital trips in that time for broken bones). Couldn't believe how easy the process was to get an appointment. Online booking system with multiple choice questions to aid in triage, and at the end I was presented with a list of appointments times and dates. I chose one for 40 minutes thence. NHS, so no payment or insurance to worry about. Brilliant.
Serious question to my American cousins, but why don't you have your own version of the NHS?
Because American capitalism, combined with a healthy propaganda-borne fear of socialism & communism (which are seen by many as synonymous) and politically-fueled bigotry, prevents the United States from improving things that resemble anything "unAmerican" (i.e. the aforementioned communism/socialism) &/or may help the "enemies" (such as illegal immigrants). So many people here would rather live shitty lives than improve their own lives if it means that those that they consider to be "lesser" can suffer more than them.
Load More Replies...This is getting to edge into harassment territory and outright bullying. Yes, most of us know our healthcare system is garbage, and no there is zero political will to change it, even though it's popular across the board. Do something actually funny about the oddities of the US, BP.
As long as your "leaders" are bullying the rest of the world I would not complain about bullying as a US american. The US is not "odd" , it is a cesspool.
Load More Replies...Get new material, Egle and BP. Bashing America weekly and more often is so tired and unoriginal. How about not bashing any country at all. All countries have their problems.
But right now the USA is becoming EVERYBODY's problem.
