Red sprites...they occur above thunderstorms about 50 miles up. Very cool.
That's an amazingly lucky shot! Actually seeing sprites and having a camera?! Wow!
They get some amazing shots from the International Space Station as well.

I often threaten to send my co-workers to HuggaBunny Island when they make a mistake. It's the Island where you hug bunnies all day. The bunny hugging is mandatory. If you ever refuse to hug the bunnies, you go to the Smile Room. The Smile Room will make you wish you were hugging the bunnies.
I'd imagine the late Bray Wyatt (Rest In Power) suddenly peering out behind you and whispering "RUN!". No need to tell me twice, Mr Wyatt XP
It looks like the mythical Kelpie from Scottish mythology. The Kelpie was a water spirit that took the shape of a horse and would take unsuspecting riders on wild rides or even ride into the water so they would drown.
Although my first thought on seeing something like that would not be gosh, I wonder if I can ride it.
Load More Replies...Looks like one of the Four Horsemen has lost his steed. With the elections on the horizons, I assume it must be War?
Bored Panda got in touch with Lillie Marshall, a teacher and traveler from Aroundtheworldl.com who has spoken to us about liminal spaces before. We wanted to hear more of her thoughts on this matter, so we asked her to share some personal stories about them.
“Until I went through it recently, I never realized how profound a liminal space (or liminal time) the divorce process can be. You are halfway between being married and not married, and it completely throws everything for a loop!”
You’ll take any friend you find find after the apocalypse…you just need to set the bar really low.
Those last three were downvoted for no reason? I levelled it up. But I'm going to be now
Downvote trolls roam free here...no rhyme or reason to their actions usually. Just keep upvoting the comments you like to offset them.
Load More Replies...It's quite simple: If you're being chased by a pack of coyotes, learn to levitate.
Do I want to hear the back story for this shot! Well, maybe I don't.
i love coyotes... they're just doing their coyote thing. they're really awesome creatures.
I love them, until they eat pet cats, small dogs, and attack small children... all things that have happened in my city O_O; I see them walking down the streets at night when I take my puppy out to go to the bathroom. I live in a very suburban beach town, not somewhere rural XD
Load More Replies...Definitely fake, see highwaycrossingfrog comment in this thread, he cited original Reddit thread with game camera shot of just the coyotes. Easy to drop those legs into a pic of the coyotes with that dark background with either AI or photoshop.
Load More Replies...“There are many of the same eerie and surreal feelings evoked during a liminal time like this as there are for classic physical liminal spaces -- and also the same potential for deep growth, development, and learning as you move to that next chapter,” she shared. This got us wondering about the idea of other liminal “things” that aren’t necessarily just creepy rooms.
That's where the pipe always leads to. D.A.R.E. to stay off d***s! ;)
Load More Replies...Is there a cat to pet inside? I wouldn't take candy or hugs from strangers, but I'd pet the cat that owns them.
Load More Replies...They're insanely creepy anyway. They get a transmission, their antenna straightens up, they roll around on the ground all happy. The transmission ends, and they go smoke a cigarette.
The Teletubbies’ dark alter egos, Stinky Winky, Tipsy, Gaa Gaa and Hoe.
This is really quite sinister and gives me an icky feeling. Kind of like that weird band the Residents. They creep me out too.
I hear their names being sung in a minor chord.. tinky windy, dipsy, lala, poe...
Blows my mind that those that live in places like that actually think he's going to do something to improve their lives if elected. Fun fact, his tax cuts generated 800 billion less from corporations but 800 billion more from individuals. Congratulations on thinking trickle down actually works. GM just used 16 billion in profits to buy back shares the last two cycles. No new plants, new hires, etc. There's your trickle down.
This is the most terrifying photo on here! I’m surprised there’s no crosses or confederate flag.
Fitting image for those signs, wonder if the town survived the fire.
“As I recently wrote in my article about life transitions, every major life transition we go through -- be it positive or challenging -- is a liminal space that can be scary. I really urge people to start identifying liminal times in their life (not just physical liminal spaces) and to reach out to get extra support during those months or years. Self-care strategies such as meditation and exercise can help move the energy through during those transitions as well.”
Exactly my thoughts! So that's what's in the smile room (was my 2nd thought).
Load More Replies...This isn't scary. This is what an average apartment in NYC looks like.
There are a few water sources like this around the world, it's something like iron or another mineral
someone took bathing in the blood of their enemies a shred too seriously
Blood on the windows / Millions of ordinary people are there / They gaze at the scenery / They act as if it is perfectly clear / Take a look at the mountains / Take a look at the beautiful river of blood / The liquid surrounds me / I fight to rise from this river of hell / I stare round about me / Children are swimming and playing with boats / Their features are changing / Their bodies dissolve and I am alone
“A liminal time is essentially a life transition: You are leaving one chapter of your life, and entering another, but not there yet. For example, the teen years are a liminal time because you are between child and adult. That is an example that lasts for many years, but you can also have a shorter moment in time that is a liminal moment or liminal state.”
Take the first hall on the left then turn right in the second hall on the left till you reach the hall in the middle then chose the appropriate hall for your needs that will take you to a hall on the right or maybe another hall on the left you should then see some stairs leading up or down to an elevator with counter intuitive up or down buttons which may or not be inoperative
Do I need to clean my glasses or did the whole world move out of focus?
You promised me pretty, Steinman. You promised me pretty. Now look at me. LOOK AT ME!!!
Don’t worry about the “Liability Waiver”…Standard procedure. I promise.
Just thinking about that light going off and hearing the echoes of me crapping my pants.
The hall on the left leads to the hall on the right if you take the first right to the hall on the left if not fear not for the second hall on the right will lead to a series of stairways either going up or down please chose wisely or you will be confronted with an elevator or an escalator one of which operates in an infinite horizontal loop
Living at a coast with lots of tourism, this is a familiar sight. They take standard cars to the beach, and one the Mercedes of his boss.
Yep. I live near the Outer Banks of NC and it's pretty near a daily occurrence this time of year.

If I remember rightly, this was a guy trying to take his own life. He was saved. A video was shown of the moment it was driven into the ocean . Hope he's ok! I will say that I really can't remember if anyone was in the car with them? The video doesn't show anything but the car heading for the sea. That's why I can't remember all the details.
I've told you soft can-openers over and over. WET is bad!
“For instance, meditation or Reiki therapy brings you to a state that is neither awake nor asleep, but rather an in-between time during which great growth and processing can happen, to launch you into the next state powerfully.” she shared.
I wonder if mothman is a really big black owl? I think owls can be melanistic
Hold your pet hamster close. And anything that could be mistaken as a hamster…
I've got something to say / Uh huh / I really loved the skillful way / You beat the other girls to the bride's bouquet

Is that 'defects', as in those are defective, or 'defects', as in those have gone over to the other side?

They’re currently on a farm in Virginia, US, which is private property, but efforts are being made to move them somewhere else so everyone can enjoy them.
Load More Replies...Given her interest in this question, we wanted to hear why Lillie believed “liminal spaces” had become so popular as of late. “I think -- in fact, know -- that liminal spaces have become so popular lately because, as I explained in my liminal space article, they are a wildly exciting space of growth -- with that same thrill of heart-thumping adrenaline that comes from amusement park rides.”
There's a video game called Mario 64 Wet Dry World. The background looked like this. Someone created a PC wallpaper to imitate the game background using a photo of a town in Spain, Casares in Malaga, Andalusia. He added the water and light textures to look like the game. (Too bad there isn't a paying job to look up this stuff for rando websites - I'd like my job a LOT better.)
Just to clarify slightly - the GAME isn't called Mario 64 Wet Dry World. The game is called "Super Mario 64", and the level/course is called "Wet-Dry World". :)

Well, I guess the zealots finally went off the deep end and burned all the books.
This is the end, my only friend, the end. Of our elaborate plans, the end. Of everything that stands, the end. No safety or surprise, the end. I'll never look into your eyes again.
I'd say this was a Blockbuster, but, wrong color scheme. Maybe a bookstore?
“If you think about it, that moment before a roller coaster dives down the first slope is a liminal space! There is so much possible in those moments of anticipation.” If you want to learn more about liminal spaces, you can check out Lillie’s other article on them and if you just want to feel more uneasy, check out Bored Panda’s articles on creepy stuff or more unsettling spaces.
I used to think it was this, but when you see it spelled out in some shows it's "Giggity'
Load More Replies...This is a perverted character from the show Family Guy. I would be truly disturbed if this was a children’s toy. It’s probably an old Halloween prop.
Load More Replies...Loved the story on how they finally figured out what it was. It was the mom, walking away, and her scarf and dress got blown around by the wind.
Literally opened this thread to point this out. You got there before me!
Load More Replies...That photo was taken on Burgh Marsh on the Solway in Cumbria, where my mum lives. The local pub has it framed on the wall. It is the photographer's wife with her back to the camera although he claimed nobody was there. Burgh Marsh is also where Edward I died fighting the Scots (Robert the Bruce).
Poor Robert the Bruce. Legendary warrior, yet every time I come across his name, I think of "NO POOFTERS!!!"
Load More Replies...It looks like an old, pale white guy scratching his @ss. Just because they didn’t remember or notice the guy there, doesn’t mean that there wasn’t someone there.
Ok, zoomed in you can see that right elbow is viewed from behind. Clever camouflage by the aliens
That's probably just a really nice sunrise or sunset out the window.
"I am not saying this again, pineapple does not belong on pizza, understood?" *indistinguishable agonised gurgling soinds*
I didn't think checkerboard went with shiny, bare trees, shades of black, brown and beige squiggles, faux Southwestern Pendleton blanket, light pink paint AND light blue large and small diamonds.
That about made me spit out my coffee....😂
Load More Replies...Just don't go there when the zombie apocalypse starts. There's a giant sign hinting them to go there.
Naw, needs to have a lone shopping cart skittering across the tarmac.
Looks legit. There’s definitely not a hidden entrance to an underground Umbrella Corporation lab in their Frozen section. That would be crazy….you shouldn’t even bother looking for it.
Looks like a setup for another rat utopia (don't look it up if you are easily triggered, especially by animal abuse. That experiment was all kinds of messy)
A big bug on building and even bigger shaped bug silhouetted in cloud
LoL, read somewhere that having a pink flamingo in the yard in Sweden was the sign of swingers. 😅
An upside down pineapple signifies that you are a swinger in Sweden.
Load More Replies...There used to be a service called Flamingos by Night that would do this wasaaaaay back.
Load More Replies...Had a neighbor in military housing with a yard full of flamingos. Dressed them to suit the season.
A drive-by flamingo-ing! I love it and need to do it for my parents sometime.
I hope you mean do it for my parents, and not too my parents. Sorry just kidding!
Load More Replies...I dunno, I feel like this house serves as a landmark in the neighborhood. "Turn left at the house with all the flamingos" kind of thing.
Ohhh this is from that famous video. Seriously, if you haven't watched it, you're missing out. https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=7XR4jI3xZc72z0F0
Ah, but this is an actual LEGIT rickroll, since that really is the bridge in his video. I wonder what other music video he should have linked since you can't actually rickroll this image?
WE'RE NO STRANGERS TO LOVE~ YOU KNOW THE RULES, AND SO DO I~
Never going to give you , never gping to let you down ... this liminal image is literally singing to me lol 😆 errily, creepily and cool !!
Great movie. I really wanted an underground house after I saw that movie.

I only clicked on this thread because I saw Vsauce. Disappointed there's no context provided.
Search "Vsauce" In youtube. Watch a few videos, then you will understand as much as any of us.

At least the cops would have something to go on during the investigation ;P

Weird chain of things, but a photo of this place was on the cover of an album that was brought up as a "proof" of satanism in christian music on the craziest conspiracy blog I ever read. It was so crazy, I read it twice. Absolutely baffling experience both times. Sadly, I looked for it earlier this year and couldn't find "The Murky News" anymore.
Nope. Schönbrunn Palace Gardens in Vienna, Austria.

You got downvoted??? I was thinking the same thing; it looks like it's from a different angle.

Usually bridges are built in advance of the road. I remember numerous bridges in the landscape, waiting for the farmers selling their lands, so the highway could be completed
