The line “stranger than fiction” can really apply to cinema and filmmaking. Actors, directors and the nitty-gritty of actually shooting a movie has enough drama, crazy tales, and lore that it’s no wonder Hollywood itself is often a setting for films and television. In the pre-internet era, all these tales would be unavailable to industry outsiders.

Lovely coincidence... love the book and the movie. My childhood though was scarred when the witch melts... arggggh
This movie scared me as a child, mainly the flying monkeys. At 51, I've still never watched the film in its entirety. Sad, isn't it?
Load More Replies..."Fact 2133" --- wow, somebody really went through a lot of trouble for us, wading deep through the dregs to find the odd interesting one.
I don't buy it. I've heard it before but from what I read its status is 'legend' without any proof. And if you think about it, this is just the sort of thing they would do for publicity back then. People love a good story and if it happens to get them talking about your product - all the better.
Hey it could happen. There's a $1 million powerball unclaimed from November somewhere in Washington state. Winner could have died and the ticket is in the pocket of their donated jean jacket? Better be fast though. The ticket expires May 6th.
Load More Replies...Funny how things work out sometimes! I'm still waiting for my jacket with the winning lottery numbers.
One of the few musicals I enjoy watching. For nostalgic purposes I like to watch it around Easter time the most, as it’s a tradition I grew up with 😌 Was fascinated by the bright colors of Oz, and the colors of the horses towards the end of the film, when I was young. I still love seeing those colored horses to this day lol I can see why this fact is currently at #1. Coincidences exist, but this was one hell of an amazing coincidence! Fate stepped right in yet again 😄
I agree with everyone else. However, my crazy mind also thought. "Man, Disney will do ANYTHING to silence and prevent any leaks!"
You’re not wrong lol but it’s good to know there are people in the world, then and even now, who still show they have a heart
Load More Replies...And Colby left her magic with the movie...that's why it is so good.
This fact oughta replace #1, this tugged right at my heart-strings. Sad, beautiful, and uplifting all at once. God Bless Pixar for making that little girl’s wish come true. On a side note, I’ve YET to see this movie. I know I’m missing out, maybe one day I’ll hop on the bandwagon but overall I just try to steer clear of sad stuff (I’m aware this movie is a tear jerker, due in part to the end based on what I’ve heard over the years). Like I said, maybe one day I’ll have a change of heart. But I’m glad everyone here enjoyed watching it 👍🏻 Good
"Squirrel!!" There, now you HAVE to see it to understand the joke.
Load More Replies...If I recall correctly he purchased one for himself and one for his co-star, Arwen's stunt double, who couldn't afford the horse but was also deeply attached to it <3 Cool dude
Good grief! How can such an average body contain such a big heart?!
Load More Replies...Exactly. That scene where Brego(?) lifts the wounded Aragorn from the ground is a masterpiece. Whoever trained that horse . . . .
Load More Replies...Some bits of film trivia have become so deeply ingrained in popular culture that they start to generate their own memes. Who hasn’t watched through “The Two Towers” without hearing someone say “Did you know that Viggo Mortensen actually broke his toe when he kicked the helmet?” Incidentally, this isn’t the only case of on-set injury, for example, nor the only injury sustained by Viggo, aka Aragorn (he almost drowned during the same film and also broke a tooth.)
In the first Lord of the Rings film (The Fellowship of the Ring, if you somehow aren’t familiar,) actor Sean Astin, who played fan-favorite Samwise Gamgee, stepped on a large shard of glass during the scene where he chases Frodo who is attempting to sail away. He had to be evacuated by helicopter after losing a substantial amount of blood. Orlando Bloom managed to break a rib when falling from a horse and to add insult to injury, it became an inside joke due to his constant complaining about it.
Best "acting" sometimes are real reactions. Genuine can be far better than faked or rehearsed.
My wife and I settled on Lucy as a name for our first child (if we had a girl), due in part to Georgie's wonderful performance as Lucy Pevensie.
I didn't need a blindfold. As an adult, I was incredibly impressed with the efforts to accomplish such incredibly beautiful scenery.
A friend of mine was one of the techs who kept Stephen Hawking’s kit all upto date and working. He was given numerous opportunities to update and change his voice but insisted that it remained the same throughout his time using it. It was ‘his’ voice and he wanted to keep it, no matter how realistic the alternatives were.
When is Eddie Redmayne finally going to get a turn as the Doctor in "Doctor Who?"
Eddie Redmayne is a great actor. I have loved him in every one of his roles.
My best friend's son is an engineer. While in college, he took a semester at Cambridge. He called home to tell my friend all about his new friend Steve in a wheelchair who told the best jokes. My friend told her son that she loved him very much, but he was an idiot. I don't think he ever realized who Steve was.
This looks like the ship in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride ... it could totally not be but the staging is very similar
The Goonies ship was actually destroyed many years after filming. It was offered to the public for free. You just had to pay for transport. I wanted it really badly. lol. If memory serves no one took it and it was dismantled.
Load More Replies...Like these stories from the filming of the Lord of the Rings, many of the fun facts in this article are the result of real stunts or practical effects. This is not to say that CGI doesn’t have a place in creating great scenes. The Lord of the Rings and, more visibly, the Matrix both used a combination of the two to achieve the scenes and visuals they wanted. The Matrix in particular was revolutionary in its use of post-production CGI, often to remove the wires the actors were attached to while flying through the air.
Not me going to watch Hercules for the first time only so I can watch this scene
Hercules is a good movie. It is not at all acrute to the Greek myths. Yes I know I spelled a word wrong. Yes, I don't care. Yes, we exsit.
Load More Replies...Disney does this kind of thing in their movies. There are some great under rated ones finally getting their due. This is one.
James Woods also loves this film. He is often quoted as this being one of his favorite roles.
I cannot imagine any other person in the role besides James Woods. It’s absolutely impossible for me currently!
Lol, I've watched this loads of times and never noticed this lol! Anyone saw that animated version of Blazing Saddles Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank? They make references like this in it too, it's quite funny lol!
I noticed that in several recent movies. Genre / gender cliches are now often reversed, which can actually be a smart way to question them.
"The only way we can combat gratuitous nudity is with MORE gratuitous nudity." LOL. I agree with the general idea though. Scantily clad bimbo (the character, not necessarily the actress) walks backward towards the closet where the killer is hiding has been done to death. Any movie maker attempting to use that plot device in any other context than 'stupid comedy' should be embarassed.
(To the people responsible for choosing the mosquito species for this highly influential movie): you had ONE JOB my friends
Load More Replies...Interesting. They apparently have other skills though. They join the mile high club and then yeet their babies. "Mating in mid-air, males and females synchronize their wing beats to the same frequency. Eggs are deposited by flinging them onto water surfaces while hovering." Not the best parenting but they don't suck blood and they eat the larvae of other mosquitos so they get the nod from me.
Which is why it was used to make a cane, and there's clearly no drill holes in it to remove the DNA
I for one have got no idea about identifying different types of mosquitos - so I don’t mind 😂
I submit that that actually makes more sense, because I always wondered why Hammond would waste precious dino DNA on a bauble. Makes more sense they'd use a mosquito that DIDN'T have any lucrative DNA in it, and the mosquito in the cane was just meant to be symbolic.
Many studios do like CGI, as it entails fewer costs, less principal photography (which means actually filming things, not taking pictures of the head of a school), and fewer risks. Actors are a lot less likely to get injured, like in the aforementioned stories, if all the “action” is generated by a computer. Filming costs are still quite high, for example, even a decade ago were up to 100 '000-250' 000$ a day.
it is interesting to watch the real and the movie version of live aid together. even when he moves the can of coke

I know her (not personally) from The Crown! She was on the podcast and it was fascinating. What a talented person!
Load More Replies...Does your mother live in Evansville IN and teach at the Universities of Evansville?
Load More Replies...What a pity they made the film a shadow of what Freddie’s life was in reality. Too bland, the middle of the road storyline that didn’t encompass the private, quiet Freddie who lived a loving lifestyle with his partner nor the excesses of drug fuelled parties and major rock star lunacy. It was the equivalent of Queen’s Greatest Hits, yeah it’s a good album but you know it’s not got the depth and variety that a full blown Queen album has got. Remi was great, the film was just ok.
A113 is also a Pixar Easter Egg. It is a classroom number at California Institute of the Arts where many of the animators at Pixar learned their trade.
Thanks! That’s the kind of info I wish BP would include :)
Load More Replies...“A113” appears in every Pixar movie—it’s the room number of a graphic design and character animation Cal Arts classroom.
One of my autistic daughter’s favorite movies as it’s one of the first where she started to get the jokes. I love that for her even if she now thinks she is too old for it.
Awwwww. 🥹 My sister’s too, she’s also autistic. ❤️ edit. She doesn’t think she’s too old for it though. 😂
Load More Replies...I think there is a reference to A113 in just about every Pixar movie, if not them all! I keep meaning to look out for it in them all lol!
Does anyone else hear Raccoonie! in their head reach time Ratatouille comes up? (Makes me smile every time.)
And the woman they hired didn't have any training in doing that
That's some serious method acting. I heard he also abstained from sex for 40 years in order to make the film more realistic. ;)
It's the other guys reactions that make it, especially when they see the blood
When you factor in the length of time it takes to film, it's easy to see how these costs pile up quickly. Feature-length films can shoot for around a hundred days, with some taking even longer. “Eyes Wide Shut” was filmed for over 400 days, as director Stanley Kubrick was a notorious perfectionist. Studios also have to manage the potential risk of needing reshoots.
The staff could have just taken the method of the A-Team for B.A.. :-) Does anyone still know the A-Team? No? Nobody? oooookkkkaaaayyy
Well, letting him climb up a snow montain might have been more useful to get him into character than just drugging him...
Load More Replies...From what Mary Steenburgen has said, Malcolm McDowell also hates flying. But watching him in "Blue Thunder," you would never know it, that's just how professional he is. Working past a phobia is REAL courage!
I heard from someone who worked with his kids that he was a nice, regular dad.
Load More Replies...Maybe he couldn't find a baby sitter?/s (no, I wouldn't being a 4yo either. Dumb idea.)
Load More Replies...When the grueling job of filming is complete, it was (and still is) common to say that it’s a “wrap.” This slang goes back to the 1920s, and traditionally, the crew or at least the cast would enjoy a “wrap party” to celebrate the end of filming. Whether or not actual wraps are served is unknown. The actual etymology of “it’s a wrap” is unclear, as some sources point to it meaning “wind, reel, and print,” though these things were not actually done with pre-digital film. Instead of being printed and reeled, film would be “canned,” hence the term “it’s in the can.”
No. She got scared of Anthony who was in the Hannibal persona. Everybody is scared of Hannibal, I hope!
Load More Replies...Thank you! I'm surprised they didn't mention that here! She talked about it on the Graham Norton Show, that they both were scared of each other... 😄 😄😄
Load More Replies...And that adds on to the respect that man deserves, because he played his part too well
And, that my friends is the reason they both won Academy Awards. Fabulous movie.
I've always said if I met Sir Anthony on the street, I'd be scared of him! Same with David Strathairn, who played the rapey, molester father in Dolores Claiborne. I know those characters weren't real. I know they were just acting. I know they're both perfectly normal, nice, even kind, men. Strathairn even plays God, in one of his movies. But I can't help it. Every time I look at him, I get the creeps, lol! And Hopkins still scares me. Lol. I guess that is, as others have said, testament to just how GOOD they played those parts, and just how good they are at what they do.
I haven't watched this and don't know what it's talking about but I really want to know.. can someone explain?
It’s hard to… summarize the movie Silence of the Lambs. Let’s say that Anthony Hopkins plays a character who is a VERY bad man who is in jail. Jodie Foster plays the good guy, an FBI agent trainee who is trying to catch another bad guy serial killer who is on the loose. Anthony Hopkins’s character was also a brilliant psychiatrist, so Jodie Foster goes to him in prison and asks for his help in figuring out the other bad guy and how to catch him. Hijinks ensue. I won’t spoiler the whole movie, but let’s say that Anthony Hopkins’s portrayal as a psychotic, insane, cannibalistic serial killer is TERRIFYINGLY GOOD and no wonder Jodie Foster was scared of him on set! Anthony Hopkins tends to “become” his character when he is filming a movie, so he was probably acting like Hannibal Lecter on set (except not killing and eating people…)
Load More Replies...All some men have to do is be themselves. Robert Mitchum scared the stuff out of Polly Bergen in the egg scene in the earlier 'Cape Fear' -no fancy makeup, no costume. And they were friends in 'real life'.
I'm pretty sure every Pixar movie has a reference to the one that's going to be released next.
It’s actually amazing to track the Easter eggs!
Load More Replies...Another Pixar Easter egg—they do this in every film. They put a detail for the movie they’re working on (in this case, Finding Nemo) somewhere in the film.
That's another Pixar easter egg - having stuff from their other movies present somewhere.
I named my 1st rescued kitty Boo! It was Hence forth changed to King Boo though.

Load More Replies...And that's why Henry Cavill is such a great actor, he actually cares about the source material of the project he works at
he is also in real life a true nerd, big warhammer fand and collector, almost missed his Superman audition because he was in the middle of a WoW raid with some of his guild members, when on the set of the Witcher, he had actually read every book and would fight with the writers and producer over accuracy, etc. He is a true nerd who cares about nerdom. It's why we love him

Even after the editors have looked over the film, producers will still show what they have to a test audience before it goes to the public. At times, this can even lead to more reshoots. For example, Shaun of the Dead got roughly 15 seconds added to its final cut after test audiences disliked the ending for being too “abrupt.” Somehow, these fifteen additional seconds were enough to vastly increase the average score the film was given.
also in most movies with dogs they have to CGI their tails because they keep wagging them!
This one is adorable. How the heck do you tell a dog “no, you’re supposed to be a vicious, rabid dog. Stop wagging your tail!”
Haha my groomer has to bungee my golden retriever's tail to her leg because she won't stop wagging:) She's a happy girl
Also why the role was mainly played by a guy in a dog suit! Saint Bernards are just big teddy bears. :3
How adorable! They're no villains, they're the sweetest giant dogs ever!
For the running scenes, could he not have run himself? It's not as if he was going to be base jumping off a skyscraper!
You have no idea what a huge amount of waiting around there is when making a movie. "Stunt doubles", when it's not really a "stunt", are used so the star doesn't have to sit around waiting for hours and hours to do a scene where someone else could do the waiting and then do the scene.

Shame on those who thought it would be OK to cheat a kid.

Read somewhere interview, he said Harry Potter franchise pays him for the rest of the life, his doing films not for money just for the joy and laugh.
Have heard the same. It's why he's in movies like Swiss Army Man as a corpse. It'd be great to have the freedom from monetary pressures to just pick stuff he thought sounded interesting.
Load More Replies...I remember reading how hard it was for him to film underwater for four days, and thinking that it probably wasn't quite as hard as spending twenty years working in a factory on 13,000 a year...
I'd have done it for $40.00.......with a cut of the box office receipts and merchandising
Finally, at long last, the film goes to distribution, unless there is some outstanding issue and the production company kills it. For most of the films that we view, the first step is a cinema release. The number one movie-going nation is South Korea, where people viewed an average of 4.12 movies a year, compared to the number two spot for the US (3.88 a year.) Normally, there would be a theatrical “window,” where the film was only available in cinemas and people would have to wait a few weeks to see it at home. Nowadays, streaming services have changed the media landscape from top to bottom. If you want to learn more about interesting cinema facts, check out our other articles here and here.
Honestly one of the best dad-son relationships ever, I love this dad
"I inherited it from my father, who inherited it from his father, who won it from a friend in a game of Mahjong!"
A universal theme song, that everyone knows, something bad is going to happen. Without it, I don't think Jaws would have been that scary.
Most horror movies actually aren't that scary without the background music. Mute it some time during a scene where there's no talking and you'll see how much it loses the anticipation/scare factor.
Load More Replies...As someone once said, it's a stroke of brilliance. Two notes and you've got a villain.
Jaws definitely would have been a less scary movie if not for all the problems they had on set with the fake sharks. It's a lot more scary to NOT see the bad guy/animal, but you know it's there somewhere.
To some extent. I think though when you can get the monster right the time you need to hide it is much shorter. Think the first Jurassic Park. They didn't need to hide the dinos because they looked amazing (and still do). They chose to hide them at the start, but they were revealed very quickly because they looked so damn impressive.
Load More Replies...I've lost count of the number of times I've watched this film and I still cry everytime she reads that damn poem.
Some actors are method and deep dive into the character they're playing and have gone to extremes to get there. Some have given away possessions and lived a nomadic life, or locking themselves away in a room for days or weeks on end, eating the diet their character may have eaten....
As Olivier said to Hoffman in Marathon Man, "Try acting, dear boy, it's much easier".
Load More Replies...I've tried to like her as an actress, but for me, it's almost as hard as trying to like Katherine Heigl. I want to like this movie, but I can't 😭
Katherine Heigl in Firefly Lane is AMAZING. Would highly recommend people check that show out on Netflix.
Load More Replies...The musical group who sings it, Te Vaka, is excellent. I don't understand all their lyrics, yet I enjoy listening to them. IMHO they should have let Opetaia Foa'i, the lead vocals of Te Vaka, sing the song in English instead of Lin Manuel Miranda.
Load More Replies...It's been a long time since I saw this movie but couldn't they have been tattooed prior to the journey? I might be missing something very important. I guess I need to see if it's on Disney+ and watch it again today.
I wonder! Is this a real tattoo fact, or just a Moana fact?
Load More Replies...The movie was based on his book, The Snow Queen, hence the characters, Hans, Kristoff, Anna, Sven.
Well, The Snow Queen is an older Lapland fairy tale, but he 'rewrote' it. I got into so many arguments with people when they insisted that Frozen was 'an original Disney story' & I responded 'they've never animated an original story in their lives & they sure as hell didn't start with this one.'
Load More Replies...So ? Is frozen and frozen 2 worth watching? I haven't seen either yet
I really enjoyed them both and watch Olaf's Christmas adventure each year with my sister's (were in our 30s) :D
Load More Replies...Not quite the same, is it? I expect she flashed a breast - not quite the same as him dropping his pants and getting Mr Happy out.
Load More Replies...I have no problem with this because, like all things which can be taken as offensive, it's the intensions of the person doing it. An actress famed for not really caring about nudity, flashing someone who will see her naked soon anyway, is far different from Mr Raincoat down the local playground.
And that little Freudian slip when Leo says "on the bed, er couch" was an actual slip of the tongue that made it to the final cut.
Considering they dropped him like a hot potato when the whole Amber Turd thing happened without any actual evidence. Serves them right.
and they should! the studio(s) should also renew his contracts for the pirate movies as well since he has been exonerated.
But why would you want to enter a renewed contract with a company that would drop you without a second thought? I'm almost positive Johnny Depp would never give them the time of day due to their betrayal.
Load More Replies...Unfortunately, unless you're world-renowned, super famous, everyone-knows-your-name actor/actress, you aren't gonna be getting 8-digit paychecks. People in the acting community are actually payed less than you might think, and many of them have to keep multiple jobs to be able to provide for themselves. For example, in Texas, the average annual salary for an actor is 18k-230k per year, and livable wage can vary from 40k-120k. It sucks, but those of us wanting to break into the acting industry are gonna have a hard time of it...
Load More Replies...It's disgusting how much actors get paid for doing so little work.
1) Almost all spiders are venomous. 2) Tarantulas will only bite you in circumstances where they are being held against your body by something else, like clothing. 3) Tarantula bites are mild, as in wash and maybe paracetamol at a push mild. 4) The biggest danger of a tarantula are the hairs if they flick them, they are barbed and really hurt. 5) Yes I have experienced both, because of other people being mean with them, the hairs are much worse. 6) They aren't going to actively hurt you, they only will if you bother them, they are docile when held and very light.
This is true for most new world tarantulas, and most damage from the bite is due to the fangs puncturing tissue (some of my larger tarantulas have big old fangs). The hairs as you say are no joke, and have caused me some real issues, but totally my own fault (could definitely have taken precautions). Old world tarantulas on the other hand are generally more defensive and will bite as they don't have hairs, with medically significant venom (p.metallica for instance has an awful bite). Never a good idea to handle an old world tarantula, and with any tarantula, handle at your own risk and that of the tarantula, as they are fragile and even a small drop can result in result in a ruptured abdomen for the poor thing. Source - I own many tarantulas :) If anyone is interested in the more educational side, Tom's Big Spiders on YouTube is great for showing how great these creatures are. Edit: link for a p.ornata bite outcome to show the difference with old worlds https://youtu.be/hceNe_eswQg
Load More Replies...Tarantulas are nice animals. Think of them as being like eight legged hamsters.
I'm very glad hamsters are not venomous - they are vicious wee things
Load More Replies...He also pretends to scream in the scene. They then edited a dubbed scream over the footage to not scare the tarantula.
"Please put on your traditional black wedding tux" -- nothing will give away that surprise.
Yeah, that was so they didn't spoil the movie, or so they had genuine tears.
It's annoying how little actors in the MCU know about their own movies. How can you film scenes effectively and create genuinely interesting characters if the director lies to you about something this simple? I remember watching an interview where they said they didn't always even know what MOVIE they were filming for.
Let's hope someone got a new dog bed and lots of toys and treats :)

this part is so powerful tbh. it goes from happy to very dark very fast, it’s like being hit with a train
Silly question. How come they didn't notice any smell or smoke coming from the burned down village until they walked up to it?

Load More Replies...To be more specific, it was the break between innings. Peter Jackson came out into the centre of the ground, and huge microphones were put out in front of multiple sections of the crowd. We were asked to chant Derbu Nashu, and also asked to stop our feet (as in time to Peter Jackson as we could) and beat our chests on queue. They repeated until they felt they had enough. We were not told in advance this would be happening during the lunch interval, so anyone that ducked out to get food or drink missed out.

No, it means Michael Myers, as in the character from the film "Halloween", so they went for the actor "Mike Myers" whose most famous role at the time was Austin Powers and likely the only mask of him I'm assuming was available at the time

The operative phrase here is "...intended to be" and not "is." Heck, I had many an intention in my life that was very different from what actually occurred or I ended up doing.
I don't think Robert Downey Jr could have made a comeback if social media and mobile phones was a thing in the 1990s. He had a horrible addiction problem, allegedly got drugs from his dad at 6 years old, and was also sentenced to 3 years in prison but ended up serving only 1 year. The director of Ironman had to fight HARD to cast a former drugaddiced, untrustful looser like RDJ... I don't think an actor would bounce back from that now.
He also took a ridiculously low salary for the first film, possibly even the 2nd. But he was definitely the best choice for this role. I was glad to see how he had turned his life around

No one cares. Should we all list movies we haven't seen?
Load More Replies...my god i hate being tickled. i woulda been screaming for them to stop because sensory issues say what
Just shows how long these movies have been going on. Fifteen years now.
as a caterer! (he's also a regular in "Party Down")
Load More Replies...I think I may be the only person who didn't find Inception all deep and philosophical. I was bored to tears during that movie.
Nah it was pretty pants. "Ooh look at the turning corridor" like it's the first film to do that. "But what does the totem mean" like anyone cares. But some directors inspire a rabid fanbase and Nolan is one. Or maybe we just all like different things :)
Load More Replies...Never seen it, but I might be interested, I've heard good things about it! Can anyone tell me what it's about?
Joan Crawford did this in the Baby Jame film. Bette Davis was really struggling and almost threw her back out trying to carry her.
Brando was knowed for making prank on set all the time. Coppola has to put someone to follow him all the time so he will not make any prank on the set of Apocalypse Now, because any delay from those would have been way too expensive since the movie was already late and overbudget.
would turn prophetic as in his later movies he ended up weighing that much...
That's kinda stupid, but using cocaine would probably end up being way more stupid
Organ failure vs millions of dollars all for the sake of entertainment... hmmm
Not as good as Infernal Affairs. I think details like these are too literal, but that's my opinion
Tatum's character was DUKE, not Luke. Would be a cool crossover though. Rebel Alliance and the Joes vs. Cobra and the Empire.
At least he didn't have to work for the whole movie. And yes, it was dissapointing
this whole movie is a lie its not impossible they do it in the movie.
Be thankful it was made when it was, if it'd been made back in the 1960's he would only have had to use a couple of old British Half Crowns, even then the would have pulled him upright - they were bloody heavy !!
I actually hoped Tai Lung would return in a sequel with a redemption arc. Oh well.
Same and if you watched a short for the franchise it showed the furious five’s origin and it shows that tigress was adopted by shifu so technically she and Tai lung should know each other more personally
Load More Replies...Great that the "Fact" sign is exactly over the part of the picture that is important
My tooth is chipped exactly like that! Thankfully my brother is a dentist :)
Mine too. Fell off a parked riding lawn mower and hit my face on the wheel cover. 😂 Didn’t get mine successfully fixed until I was 18, which meant my mom was very excited that every school photo I had showed my chipped tooth.
Load More Replies...Today I finally realised I have something in common with Jim Carrey: the exact same chipped tooth. It's even the same tooth with the same bit knocked off. Though in my case it was a childhood faceplant on a slide.
"What's the name?" "Joe." *writes f-ing samantha or some scheisse like that*
Tom Hanks is incomparable. He is truly a master of his craft. Who else could believably play Mr. Rogers and Walt Disney and also be in a silly movie like Turner and Hooch. He is magical!
I love how they included quirks like that and how his employees would hear him coming thanks to his smoker's cough and would warn each other by saying "man is in the forest!" (Contrary to what the movie shows, he was a real hardass with his underlings, hence the warning system). Apparently the Disney corporation was iffy about showing him smoking and drinking (after all there are a lot of photos of him holding up two fingers for no apparent reason because they edited out the cigarette), but they graciously let it be included. I mean the dude died of emphysema, so there's not much point in pretending he didn't smoke like a chimney.
It could be. Shutter Island was based on a novel by Dennis Lehane.
Load More Replies...some actors want to work with others so much, they'll take a pay cut. Bruce Willis was uncredited in the movie Four Rooms (so they could pay him scale rather than what he usually makes) so he could work with Tarantino.
Awww what an honorable thing to do.. take $60k instead of a couple million
I wouldn't say it's honorable... I mean, he shouldn't have to be paid so much less like that just to be able to work alongside an actor her wants to work with
Load More Replies...Yes, destination. Straight to the bargain bin where it belongs :)

My mind read Percy Jackson three times in a row, and I was thinking "What does Percy Jackson have to do with any of this?"
Seriously! You'll never hit anything if you put the arrow on the outside of your hand. It would be completely unstable. It's supposed to be on top of her index finger. Source: I used to do archery in camp every summer. LOL!
Load More Replies...Pixar was founded as a department of Lucasfilm Computer Division in 1979 then bought by Apple in 1986... So Jobs didn't found it, however he made it successfull.
Apple never owned Pixar. Steve Jobs bought Pixar along with several other investors in 1986, the year after Apple fired him. Pixar was sold to Disney in 2006.
Load More Replies...So losing all that weight and develop an eating disorder was easier? Don't get me wrong, he was awesome in this movie but the lengths these actors will go to is absurd!
He put a lot of effort into making sure he got it right (otherwise it might have come across as mocking and he didn't want to belittle people who actually suffer from it). Losing weight can be hard, but at least with starving yourself, it's just a case of consuming less calories than you put out. Learning how to mimic a rare neurological disorder takes research and practise.
Load More Replies...Yeah because I know exactly how a bison liver should look like
I know if I'd have seen a fake liver in that scene I'd have rage quit the movie on the spot. Anatomical accuracy is the most important part of all film making, as we all know.
Load More Replies...Why not just use cow (veal) liver? They're both bovines. (Down arrow for the reference to veal, but that's where the majority of liver comes from!)
Sounds like England. 8 years to enlarge a roundabout…smh…

This only hurts the crew that have to clean it up. Directors and producers don't give a c**p. An awful thing to do to the crew that are subjected to the same grueling hours (probably more hours for crew since they have to be there for set up and tear out).
The crew doesn’t make anywhere near the amount of money the actors make either.
Load More Replies...Long hours? With their salary? Goodness, fancy people having to work hard! Normally for a pittance.
I’m kinda judgmental of method acting. If you’re not a good enough actor to step onto a role convincingly without having to do crazy s**t and treat cast & crew in crazy ways, maybe there’s a ton of other actors out there who can. One’s job is “to act like” and if one needs to “become” in order to express, one isn’t actually acting. A good actor can pretend their finger hurts without having to slam it in a damn door.
True, but I suspect that a lot of them do it because they LIKE to feel like the character. They probably find it an interesting way to personally delve into the roll and make their own lives a little more dynamic. Just an assumption, but it makes sense to me.
Load More Replies...The "didn't watch television" is the best bit. Dude lost everything but still needed to avoid tv in order to feel sad
Shoot, nowadays the best way to feel sad is to watch TV -- as long as it's the nightly news.
Load More Replies...He's quite a chonker! I don't remember Godzilla being so hefty back the 80's. :)
That's after he binge ate all those yummy treat-filled busses and passenger trains. He doesn't like to talk about that chapter of his life.
Load More Replies...nope, this is from one of the direct to video sequels to Lilo and stitch
Load More Replies...Was this some sequel to Lilo and Stitch that went straight to video? (researching) Apparently so... wow.
Go watch the making of Rango. It's fascinating. Instead of the voice actors being alone in the studio, reading lines, they all got together and acted it out. I'd rather watch that than the animated version!
Thank you for the recemondation. I love Rango. It's one of the best movies ever.
Load More Replies...The director didn’t want her to cry in the film because it made her face look “weird”
Quick poll: which actor is more full blown insane? Jack Nicholson or Al Pacino? Oh you didn't know Al Pacino was insane? Hehe. Watch Johnny Depp being interviewed by James Lipton.
Pacino is insane. Jack's just messing with people.
Load More Replies...Yes it would. Female villains are very popular and their toys are known to sell very well.
To boys though? The toys of Iron Man would manly be bought for boys. I'd be curious to see if they have a demographic breakdown to support their thoughts.
Load More Replies...oh no, we can't have WOMEN in our movies... NO-ONE likes WOMEN... jeez louise macaroni and cheese hold the sauce please that is dumb
mORE WOMAN VILLENS who ever thought origanl woman villian idea i apluad u
One of the best villains of Marvel is Agatha. Everyone loves her. Marvel, I love you dearly, but get your s**t straight
They were also originally triangle/sharp edge shaped. Another stupid expectation of what women's bodies should look like.
Exactly. If they wanted it to be as the game was they should have given her 2 party hats instead of a padded bra.
Load More Replies...Actually that's just how bras work. Not that I agree with the whole "has to have big boobies" trope. So tiresome.
Load More Replies...Didn't she have both her breasts removed due to a high chance of getting cancer? And her ovaries too
Yep, and had implants put in at the same time. Given how cancer runs through her family I don't blame her. She had tests ran and she does have the BRCA2 mutation that increases the risk of developing cancer

Colin, I heard it differently; that he wouldn't do the movie unless they let him do his own jump over the fence getting away...
