Exactly. My parents divorced when I was 11 and I had no idea it was because my stepdad had cheated on my mum until many years later. Both my parents were amicable to each other when us kids were around. As far as I knew, they had just grown apart. It was very mature of both of them and probably saved me from a lot of pain and confusion.

Once came back to the building laundry room and all my bras had been stolen. Just the bras. That is creepy in an of itself, but I was mostly pissed because then I only had one bra (the one I was wearing) and good bras are expensive! Each bra that had been stolen probably cost me at least 50 bucks.

I moved into an apartment that had been occupied by a young man with schizophrenia who ended up suffocating himself with a plastic bag. He had written on the walls like this. He also wrote "womens" when he meant "woman's." Later, I had a student who wrote it the same way, and he was diagnosed with bipolar type I with bouts of psychosis. Is it a symptom or a coincidence?

When i used to work in a nursing home we had this lady with dementia who sometimes said very creepy things. One night she desperately started yelling because "the people from inside the closet wouldn't stop calling her". Another time she calmly told me she had no idea who the lady outside the window was, but it seemed rude not to let her in. We were on the third floor.

I have a coworker who walks VERY heavily, putting her entire weight on her heels. She always sounds like she’s stomping 😅 her and I both work on the top floor of our building, and when I’m on the lower floor it sounds like a herd of elephants. Sometimes we just walk around in our socks up there (don’t ask lol) and it somehow does make it even worse than when she’s wearing shoes 😂

I saw a hit and run once and was able to safely follow the car that ran, got their license plate number when they pulled into a parking lot to assess their own damage, then drove back to the accident site and waited with the people who got hit to give a statement and the info to the police. Don't know what happened after that but the guy who got hit was sure grateful.

Yet Another Creepy Regular
(Crossed out my name for privacy reasons) This regular customer at my store comes in every single night that i am working (typically closing shifts); Sitting in the same spot every night, in a perfect position to stare me down, and he has just recently begun leaving me notes on the table just before i lock the doors for the night. He has been frequenting my store for close to two years now… A few months back, he found my Instagram account and even commented on one of my posts. He still views all of my stories and likes all of my posts (He has since been blocked). The other day he told me I looked “gorgeous” when I passed by him in the hallway outside of our store (We are attached to a bigger building). But yeah, this note gave me the ICK! So I wanted to share lol. Yes, I have notified my SM. Not my first creepy regular by any means, but just be aware of who is frequenting your store. Stay safe out there, guys!

I tried being polite when I came home and found a car in my spot. Knocked on a few doors and found the owner (visiting my neighbor) and asked that she not park there again. A month later & this time I TOLD her to not park in my spot again or I would have her towed. Another few weeks and guess where dumb b*tch had parked. Immediately had her car towed. A few hours later she comes pounding on my door. Now, I'm pretty tall and butch - not the type of person who's face you want to get in. Before she could say anything, I just asked her "WTF did you think I meant when I told you not to park in my spot again?" She had the nerve to tell me that I knew where she was & could have just come over. "F*ck you, lady". Slam. The friend came over later and apologized. She also informed me that her friend had to pay $305 to get her car back. I think she was secretly pleased.

My brother got bullied by a guy in my year for being gay. After he matriculated, it came to pass that bully and I were selectively trained for provincial athletics. Guy motivated me with his homophobia (didn't know then my bro was/is gay) - I improved several time records. We left, I moved away, went to see my brother. Found An Old Torn Up Note In A Pile Of Hair
Today, I was organizing my bathroom cabinet and found something strange. There is a missing panel on the side of the cabinet, so I shined my flashlight in the hole to see if anything had fallen back there, and found this little pile of hair and paper. When I took it out, I was intrigued and started trying to piece the fragments together. There are definitely some pieces missing, and others were damaged beyond recognition, but I feel like I can say without a doubt that it was a death note. I have no idea who could have written it, or how it's been there as long as it has without being noticed. My restless mind craves more answers, but this is likely a mystery I won't be able to solve.. All I can do is hope that whoever wrote it, had changed their mind and is living a better, happier life now.

Same. Almost half of my tiny town’s economy relies on tourism. We get a lot of European tourists and they’re always nice to chat to. But we also get a lot of bad, rude people coming through who see our home as a fun resort for them to get wasted in and trash. But Lokesh does have one important message for senders. “Be mindful of what you ship,” he says. “Every delivery takes time, effort, and manpower.” Wasting resources on prank packages or senseless items can be frustrating. “We’re here to help, not to chase ghost addresses or decode riddles,” he adds. “A little thought goes a long way.”

Creepy Note On Doorstep
I recently moved about an hour south of the town I’ve lived in for the last ten years- so anyone I know lives about an hour away. Last night I get home around 9pm from meeting friends after work. I was on my bike and needed a few things from the store, so I parked the bike, got my car keys, and drove off- around 9:15pm. I get home at 9:45pm and see this note lying on my doorstep. I was gone for such a small window of time that I have to imagine it was someone watching my movements. I don’t really know anyone in my neighborhood and I live alone. I’m trying to laugh it off- but it still feels a bit creepy.

Neighbor Doesn’t Want Anyone Parking Parallel To Him On Opposite(!) Side Of Street
I live in a quiet residential neighborhood. Our streets are narrow, but plenty of space for people to park on both sides of the street.
This showed up my daughter’s friend’s car this morning.
The neighbor has taken it to be his personal mission to put notes on anyone’s car that parks across the street from him.
He approached my girlfriend after sitting in his car and waiting 15 minutes for her to finish a phone call… interrogating her about where she lives, and saying he never wants to see her parked there again.
The dude is in his early 50s. He’s never said anything to me directly.
Any advice on the best way to tell this guy to buzz off? I’m inclined to just go knock and tell him I’m going to continue allowing my guests to park in front of my house, and take it from there.

My GF's (24f) Mom's Male Friend Keeps Taking Her Thongs And Leaving Notes
The note says: "Fayth, hey so hope you don’t mind but I borrowed a thong. I like doing weird things, but thanks."
So, a little context. The girlfriend's mom is known as big mama around here, she knows literally everyone... Her house is open to anyone to come over, grab food, sleep, whatever... The girlfriend's room is upstairs and is usually always locked, and she told me about this note that this guy left last night.
I asked her how he got into her room to get them, and she thinks he got them from the dirty clothes downstairs while she was talking to him while cooking. Her mom's currently in jail till April and yeah.
She has no prior knowledge of this guy cross dressing, and the reason I'm so chill about it is because what does freaking out do lol? It's messed up, but my dark sense of humor kinda thinks it's funny in a sick way. But I just don't really know if I should do anything or just let this play out, and just tell her mom when she gets out, or what, which I mean that's pretty much my plan. The guys are also like 43 years old.
So, do I just confront this guy and tell him to stop, or do we buy him his own thongs... I can safely say I've never come across something like this, but the gf is getting kinda annoyed.

Someone Put This On My Windshield In The Wilderness
My classmates and I were going our water sampling at a state river. We came back to the car (there weren’t a lot of people in the parking lot) and didn’t even notice the note until we got back to campus and a security guard mentioned it. We thought it was a ticket and were more concerned about the fact that it’s some random usb drive with a note talking about falsehoods. Obviously, we are not opening it, and it’s probably something about a cult, but it is interesting. Does anyone know where it’s from or what might be on it?

I have an old XP system I can go from DoD standard disk erasure to back up and running in under a day. Literally nothing on that system other than Windows XP, what that installs, and my secure disk wiping utility. It isn't even connected to the internet, and the WiFi is disconnected so it can't even see wireless signals. I keep that around just to erase drives like there because hey, free flash drive.

There's a separate parking area for the street 20 seconds walk from her front door. She also has a garage she can park in front of. But she has to have "her" spot in front of her house.

Want to find the year of a random car you saw in a parking lot? (This may only work for North American vehicles so feel free to fact-check me). Go up to the windshield on the driver’s side and see if you can spot the VIN through the glass, right at the bottom of the windshield. You should be able to on most modern cars. The 10th character in the VIN is a code that indicates the year (on vehicles made after 1981) :) so on my car, the 10th character is a K, which means it’s a 2019 model. You basically need to have a whole chart in front of you to figure it out but I’ve known dealership owners who can take one look at a VIN and tell you “oh yeah that’s a 2023 Ford F-350 with a 6.7L that was built in Dearborn, Michigan” 😅

Years ago, in Texas, our neighbor’s nanny would put their two dogs outside the minute the parents left. 7+ hours of nonstop barking. I called every 10 minutes all day long, the nanny never picked up and the homeowners/parents came to my door SO ANGRY. They very quickly apologized when I told them why…poor doggies were so stressed and they did not know why. No more nanny after that. They put up cameras and I guess they weren’t too happy with how the kids were treated.

If you're in the lines, you're legit. When someone parks too close to close to the line, you naturally have to accommodate and move over to get out. That can affect the whole line of cars like this. The problem isn't the driver's parking, it's the size of the bay. If you're 300 lbs, you need to park somewhere where you can ensure you can get out if this happens. And complain to management.

Am I Out Of Order In This Situation?
I dropped my daughter off at her Saturday morning club and had an hour, so I thought I’d treat myself to breakfast at a decent cafe. One customer was having a FaceTime conversation, at the top of her voice, and with the phone turned all the way up. Most people kept their heads down, but she kept staring at me, as if challenging me to say something. Of course, I did the incredibly British thing of averting my eyes and seething silently. It got to a point where I went and sat at an outside table while I waited for my food. After 5 minutes or so, the customer left, and I went back inside. A couple of minutes later, she came back inside, asked for tap water, took two tables up again, and started her FaceTime conversation up again. When my food arrived I took it outside to eat there. When she left a second time, she came and put the above note on the table in front of me. I think the only thing I did wrong was not say something directly about her behaviour being inappropriate, even rude, for the situation.

They need to apply for a marked/designated parking space in front of their house for mom. If she lives there and actually has a documented/vàidated reason for requiring it, the municipality will likely fascîitate it.

Creepy Note Found In Pisgah National Forest
Was hiking with some friends at Hawksbill Mountain and found this note pinned to a tree behind a dead leaf. Really creeped us out. We could only find some records of similar notes in Pennsylvania. Does anyone have any context?

I’ve actually genuinely opened a package that was left with the rest of my mail in front of my house, and was thoroughly confused by the contents until I checked the address and realized it wasn’t my mail 😅 oops, brain fart. I took it to the correct address, my neighbours, and apologized profusely. Luckily they were cool and there was a packing slip so they could see I hadn’t taken anything - and honestly it was just some manicure supplies and nail polish, nothing private, but I was pretty embarrassed.

My old neighbor would 'accidentally' open my mail regularly. Mail was in my letter box, with my name and address and somehow ended up in her hands directly after it was put in my letterbox. I wish I'd been more direct and nasty to her to be honest. Kindness never worked with her.

I bought a low milage yaris from a police auction that had some dents in it. When I went to clean out the trunk, there was a 3 page note. Asking for forgiveness for going on someone's land. They didn't take anything out of the barn. Asking if they are still angry about the "nail gun incident ".

found a bunch of ceramic pieces with writing on them, smashed on the beach. tried putting them together to figure out what it said, but after some time, I realized that they were plates, numerous plates, and the writing didn't match. The nearest I could figure was that at least a couple of people wrote down stuff they were going through to get it out of their system, took them to the beach and smash them on the rocks, you know, to rid themselves of the bad karma or pain or whatever. Never did get them put together enough to figure anything else out.

It's never happened to me. But I've left a couple of them, for people parking across the space marking lines, taking up two spaces on purpose so nobody else would park "too close" to them. A-holes, entitled snotheads. Just because you say so does not mean your car is entitled to privilege that mine is not.

Well, I am currently appreciating the heck out of my friendly, well behaved neighbors, among other things. Also, I hope no one’s safety, rescue or well being ever hinges on me reading some cryptic note they stuff somewhere for me to read. I have a firm and standing policy against readIng weird bits of paper found in strange places. You know that famous Watcher letter house raving on about young blood and whatnot? I would have made it a line in and ceremonially torched the darned thing.
