Crafting is a wholesome way to spend your free time. It's creative, hands-on, and often oddly therapeutic. Whether you're painting, sewing, or just putting together a seasonal wreath, it's so satisfying to make something from scratch.

But not every DIY project goes as planned. You can have even the best intentions and still end up in a glitter-glued disaster. Enter the Facebook group 'That's It, I'm Craft Shaming!' The 264,000-member community is dedicated to celebrating the most hilariously terrible crafts on the internet. But don't take it the wrong way! The pictures aren't about tearing people down. Instead, they serve as reminders that perfection is overrated and failing is half the fun.

    I LOVE it! What a great way to memorialize your late husband, with his ties that are made into a gorgeous dress! The only thing I would have changed are the one on the left, that sort of looks like a spotted leopard print, sort of, I'd move it more to the right shoulder, so it could follow the curve of the bodice, like the one on her left side is. See the one that is checkered? I like it's placement, and the one on the opposite side should follow suit. Otherwise, I give this beauty a 9 out of 10! I love this idea!

    There are plenty of reasons to try out something new even if you're not good at it. "Engaging with arts and crafts is accessible and affordable. Options such as knitting and drawing require very few tools and can be engaging and creatively fulfilling activities," says Dr. Helen Keyes, cognitive psychologist and head of the school of psychology and sport science at Anglia Ruskin University.

    A study by Keyes and fellow researchers has shown that engaging in creative activities can significantly boost well-being by providing meaningful spaces for expression and achievement.

    The scientists used data from a major national survey in the UK between 2019 and 2020 to investigate how creative activities might be impacting life satisfaction, controlling for variables known to affect well-being, such as gender, age group, health, employment status, and deprivation.

    In total, the researchers analyzed a sample of 7,182 participants aged 16 and over from the annual Taking Part survey conducted by the UK’s Department for Culture, Media, and Sport, which explores how the public engages with these activities.

    Keyes says, "We kept our analysis to arts and crafting at a broad level, rather than focusing on specific hobbies, as we know that people's preferences vary and they will find the craft or creative activity that works best for them."

    Me, too! I actually started looking around the living room, thinking about where I might hang it. I think it would look good over the large aquarium, if we move the mirror to the dining room.

    If you don't think of yourself as particularly capable, Clark has four suggestions to tap into your creative side:

    1. Reframe your thinking to be optimistic about your potential;
    2. Do not be afraid to take risks to try a new activity. As you can see from the pictures, everyone has to start somewhere;
    3. Foster relationships with people who are in a creative space that are interesting to you;
    4. And think about what you did creatively as a child and do it again.

    i have to keep my nails trimmed down super short because otherwise i bite them, and i do not understand how people function with even basic rounded points like a quarter of an inch past the tip of their finger. these extreme ones that are like five inches long with a bunch of stuff stuck on them would drive me off the deep end almost immediately.

    Alot of people in Australia love these things. I personally think they're F.u.c.k.i.n.g s.t.u.p.i.d. When the female one was in Canberra, it's all anyone was talking about, at work, on the Radio, on the TV. Could not escape it. People at work asking hey you gonna go see the Skywhale... My standard answer after the 50th time being asked was "I'd rather scoop my own eyes out with a teaspoon"

    Otherwise yes, but painter's tape doesn't always come off neatly, especially when exposed to the sun. At worst, a couple of days will cause the glue to stick to the surface or the tape will harden and come off in small strips. I do painting jobs for friends and acquaintances and I always emphasize that they don't tape anything beforehand.

    I've got one similar but put together with fine chain, and some random crystals from a chandelier, much better.

    I have seen wind chimes made from old silverware like this. But the were string with something much more presentable than whatever that green s**t is. Basically, this is about three quarters of the way “there”.

    I had a friend whose husband stayed out late drinking with his buddies one too many times. So the morning after, she made him green eggs and ham for breakfast (though it was closer to lunchtime when he got up). His hungover a*s took one look at what was in his plate and ran to the bathroom to puke. Ah the magic of food coloring.
