A captivating film. I'm glad I saw it on the big screen. 5/5 and a film that truly deserves its award. 😍
This made me look it up, and apparently it was installed temporarily for a while last year. But it's not disappointing because they left it there and added three of the other animals (capybara, dog and lemur) to other places in the city. Which makes me happy.

This should be everywhere. It is public information, collectively, in Canada. But for individuals, it's a bit more difficult to find out.
My goodness, a government that has made a form relatively easy to understand!! (There much be a deep state cover-up somewhere, because what kind of country has its s**t together?? 🤔 (Forgive me, I’m an American and this kind of straightforward information is highly out of the ordinary in the United States and would therefore be viewed with great suspicion.) 😜
I live in the US. I wonder on which line they'd hide all the subsidies to the rich.

This Is The Green Birdflower Native To Australia And Its Flowers Are Shaped Like Humming Birds
So from my Google search, unless you live in Australia, you can’t have the plant shipped to another country, like the US. However, numerous sites, including Etsy (which is pretty reliable), EBay (not my go-to for seeds or plants of any kind, Amazon, and a few specific seed companies do sell green bird flower seeds to the US. Now that I’ve seen it, I’ll definitely be getting myself some of these seeds. They’re stunning!!! (Also an FYI- the plant is only hardy in Zones 8-11. All other zones would require the plant be overwintered inside).
Load More Replies...HOW THE HELL IS A PLANT SEEING AND THEN MIMICING A HUMMIBGBIRD . . . . . .IN AUSTRALIA??? WE DONT HAVE HUMMINGBIRDS IN AUSTRALIA . . . . . .
Since when do you get to tell someone what they can do with plants and flowers in their own garden? It’s a relatively common plant that grows in Australia, so why shouldn’t someone who grows it be allowed to harvest it? Also most likely the seeds are stored in those pods that look like birds, so if you want to grow more plants, you need to get the seeds.

In My Town In Denmark, There’s Little Vikings In The Traffic Lights
I think the "Keep England Saxon" people missed a trick there, but, if you look back in history, we're all descended from immigrants. And, since the human race originated in Africa, we've all got coloured ancestors too.

"Hey kids, heres Olaf the viking, watch how he rapes that young woman before murdering her parents and then dragging her off to a frozen hell to be repeatedly r***d until she dies of hunger and blood loss."

Fluffy. They get quite fluffy during winter and fall.
Load More Replies...It’s not just places that amaze us. The ground beneath us is slowly on the move, even though we never feel it. The continents sit on massive slabs of rock called tectonic plates. These plates float on a hot, slow-moving layer deep inside the Earth. Over time, they drift, collide, and pull apart. The movement is incredibly slow, about the speed your fingernails grow. Beneath the oceans, molten rock rises and cools, creating brand-new seafloor. Elsewhere, plates crash together and push land upward. The planet is constantly reshaping itself, one quiet movement at a time.

Also, I’m guessing they were working with what they had, and it’s incredibly rare to find a completely intact skeleton of a dinosaur. I’m just picturing the boss handing two guys a few big boxes of these bones and saying, “Just do your best,” and walking away. And this is what those two guys managed to come up with. Boss comes back and says, “W*F is THAT?!” Two guys say, “You have any better suggestions?” Boss, after a moment says, “Congrats on assembling a unicorn. Great job,” and bolts out of there 😂😂😂

It’s hard to picture until you pause and imagine it. The extremes of Earth are quietly staggering. Perspective changes everything.
In The UK, Car Rental Companies Give You A Wristband For Your Left Wrist To Remind You To Drive On The Left Side Of The Road
Same. As a pedestrian, though, because I forget to look right for the bus, not the left.
Load More Replies...I drove ok in Japan because I drove a proper Japanese car with the steering wheel on the right. Almost got into two accidents driving in the Bahamas because they use American vehicles with steering wheels on the left to drive on the left side of the road. Everytime I turned on to another road, I would get on the wrong side (right side) of the road. After an hour of intermittent panic and terror, turned in the vehicle and used taxis. This was last century.
Maybe Anne Sacoolas should have been given one of these. If she had, she might not have driven into poor Harry Dunn and then fled the country to avoid prosecution over his death.
My $ is on her being drunk behind the wheel. She should have been sent to prison.
Load More Replies...Driver is in the middle, always! The wrist bands are a great way for thieves to spot tourists with cars why wouldn't you mark the icar, not the driver?
Even in a UK car, out of habit I would get in the left front seat. And then wonder who stole my steering wheel.
It also takes time to remember to look to your left first, not your right.
It's not difficult to remember if you hire a car from the country you are in, as the steering wheel will be on the correct side to remind you. The problem is when you go home and get in your own car and go back on auto-pilot...
Unfortunately, not always, many Brit satellite nations use American cars on the Brit system.

Indiana had a small town that straddled the border between two counties, right down the middle of Main Street. One country was dry - no liquor sales; the other allowed drinking while driving as long as not intoxicated. So you'd see people cruising Main Street with a beer in hand, put them out of sight to come back, pick them up again for another lap... It was eventually addressed when drinking and driving came under the control of state laws.

Africa holds a geographical distinction that often goes unnoticed. It is the only continent that stretches across all four hemispheres. The equator cuts through it horizontally, while the prime meridian runs straight through it vertically. This places parts of Africa in the northern, southern, eastern, and western hemispheres all at once. No other continent can claim that. On maps, Africa sits near the center of the world, both literally and symbolically. Its true size is often underestimated.

Then the book donation shelves started to appear. I love them, I can't pass by the local one without having a look. But I think a lot of people take the books in good condition, and sell them. The scenery is outside the train. This way, everyone has a window seat. "Normal" carriages have everyone staring at the back f someone else's seat. This is an improvement, but might be a problem if there was a collision; nothing to brace yourself against.

In The Netherlands, The Ambulance Gives You Branded Water
I think in Australia it would be hard to justify the cost to produce that (unless it's donated), it's hard enough to get appropriate wages for staff. Doesn't help that the state and federal governments argue about who should be funding more. Healthcare is under the state jurisdiction, but because the federal government has always given tied grants to supplement, any time these are reduced the states complain.
In the Netherlands, the government is constantly saying that we need to cut the costs in half or something because it's too expensive. So I was surprised at this too, but apparently this is from a brand that produces all kinds of supplies for ambulances and first aid kits. It kinda makes sense that ambulances wanna keep a couple of bottles of water too, in case the patient or their crying loved one can use a sip of water.

They're a pain int the posterior. Tricky to open and almost impossible to reclose - they seem to automatically fit back cross-threaded
Load More Replies...I don't feel guilty about pulling them off because I always put them in the recycling anyway
Load More Replies...Standard all over the EU. I love these as I'm clumsy and have spent way too much time picking up dropped capsules. I suspect they would be annoying for someone that drinks from a bottle, but I have a refillable bottle for my drinking needs.
They are easy to remove from the bottle. If someone finds that too hard, they shouldn't lift a full bottle to drink from it anyway.
Load More Replies...We have them in the Netherlands lately, and although I applaud the effort, I hate the execútion of it. They don't "peel off" as far as these ones, they stay much more closely to the bottle, meaning they're always in your way. Most people just tear them off, because they're such a nuisance. Too bad they didn't find a better execútion, because the idea behind it is obviously important.
I saw them for the first time when I went to Europe. I mentioned on Discord that I liked them, and at least 10 Europeans told me that they're actually horrible & annoying lol
These are awful. Makes it hard to drink and they are all harder to open than the old style.
yes, and messing all over you when you drink from the bottle. What next, a design from NUK?

This isn't "in Western Australia" (it's not west Australia btw) this would only be in remote areas. In WA we dont actually have school.buses. Kids just use the regular public transport system, and schools will either have their own bus, or hire from a bus service.
It is Western Australia. It’s probably the school bus for a remote community that has to navigate flooded roads during the wet season.

A Vintage Car Graveyard In Western Germany
I'd love to know how come VBY 76E is there - that registration plate is UK, early 1967, but the vehicle looks considerably older. Link follows.
Soldier cars, if memory serves. From a nearby military base. Soldiers stationed there would buy cheap local cars for getting around in when on leave. When the soldiers would get transferred back to the states, the German authorities at the base would take the cars off site and just park them. They couldn't technically sell them, because the soldiers (who may have paid as little as 100 dollars US, or the German equivalent for the cars) still owned them, and the laws at the time forbade seizure of the vehicles as abandoned property.

Arnold Advertising A Cheap Drill At A Discount Store In Germany
Isn't Parkside a Lidl only brand? I seem to remember that this brand wins every test.
Lidl and Kaufland are both owned by the same company, the Schwarz group. Lidl is pretty much global, I think Kaufland is more limited to mainly German-bordering countries, not including France or Switzerland though.
Load More Replies...He is a Lidl ambassador - often turns up in the adverts (in France, I'd imagine the same in Germany).
Can confirm, he made a lot of TV ads here for them too
Load More Replies...According to his ex-wife's lawyers, Arnold did a lot of cheap drilling.

This Restaurant In Hong Kong Had Draft Beer At Each Table
I wonder how they bill you for it. Electronically and by liquid measurement or smth? Or just one price for unlimited?
Bottomless would, unfortunately, be terrible because a) people would soon drink the business into oblivion and b) soon drink themselves into oblivion. Sometimes other humans are a complete mystery to me. I like a drink now and then but this obsession with constantly getting as much into themselves as they feasibly can is bizarre.
