This info might be useless to you, but...I worked as a paralegal for an attorney in Albuquerque doing VA claims. We had allsorts from guys who were comfortable in life, to guys who were homeless. VA had denied prior claims, when my boss got on them (veteran himself) he would pummel them with medical records and appeals, knew every person's phone number at the VA to harass, and kept on it like a pitbull. He got almost every single claim put through and raised the disability rating so the veterans got more money, then he'd make the VA backpay til when the claim was originally filed. One guy got over $100k check in the mail cus he'd been waiting YEARS. If you can find a lawyer that does this, it's worth chasing up. Best of luck.
