This looks a lot like my National cash register, but older or just in worse shape. I don't see "National" on it but mine has the same exact designs. Solid brass and with a marble slab for testing coins. Mine is 1914 and that's the last year the National brand from Ohio stopped making them in brass; because brass was diverted to the war efforts (WWI)

If it isn't lacquered and is real wood, make a paste of salt and olive oil (teaspoon salt, tsp oil) and rub it into the area, let sit for a few min, wipe off. Finish it off with regular wood polish. It doesn't totally take the water stain away, but sure makes a difference - this works great on scratches too. I got this from another BP person and I was so impressed with how it works, I use it all the time.

What year was this, 1920?? Well, obviously a joke because craigslist didn't exist then. But then again two of the best things that ever happened to me came result of craigslist...my eldest and youngest cats, who were shared to me out of the blue. They are the most affectionate boys. Now, my middle boy was gifted to me by the best boss I ever had; the proprietress of a mom and pop arcade...like a genuine quarter -operated arcade, with pinball and Q-bert, both original Marios, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Dig Dug, Galaga, Asteroids, Attaxx, Tron, Space Invaders...anyway this cat whom I love more than myself bites me and has a genuine moustache and goatee. Most mornings he jumps on my bed and gets cuddly, drooling, purring chin scratches, but most of the time he acts like he hàtes me 🥲

Oh man, that's cruel. When I was a bartender at an arcade I remembered all my regulars and their "usuals". My favorite was the Friday lunch break guy who'd come in around noon, order a hot dog with onion and mustard, and a Montucky cold snack, then go to the upper level (where we kept our true arcade games, like galaga, asteroids, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Tapper, etc..) until I finished cooking his hot dog and brought it to him.
