I have a PhD, work full time at a university as as scholar and project manager and also work in a café/bar on weekends (just because I enjoy the company and change of scenery; scholars can be really dull). What’s The Creative Process Behind Lainey Molnar Comics?
The artist told Bored Panda she has a miles-long list of illustration ideas on her phone: “I sometimes literally wake up in the middle of the night to write down new ones, and I grab my phone to make notes at any point when I see something inspiring.”
When she sits down and draws that idea from the list, she finds it resonates with the moment. As Lainey sometimes loves to binge-watch TV shows while drawing, she says: “Still, usually, I like to create an ambiance, like candles, incense, and good music, because I believe the vibes and emotions also go into every artwork.”

This reminds of the fable 'The Man, The Boy and The Donkey' - A man, his son go to town with wares carried by a donkey. Someone calls them fools for not riding on the donkey. The man puts the boy on the donkey. They pass a group of men shaming the boy for making an old man walk. The man tells the boy to get down and gets on the donkey. They pass by a group of ladies who shame the man for making his son walk. The man takes the boy up onto the donkey with him. They get to town and people are shouting how the donkey is carrying too much. The son and father got down, thought, then grabbed a long pole tying the donkey to like an animal on a spit. The man and boy carried each end but the donkey wasn't happy and wriggled out a hoof. They were over a bridge and the loss of balance caused them to drop the pole with the donkey over the bridge. I've read this version growing up, as a Greek tale, and then in a different variation from a Turkish one (about a man who ended up placing wheels under his oven, because everyone who passed from his house criticized it for facing the wrong direction). I think many countries have this tale in several variations!

I'm an only child. My mother once told me that literal strangers would ask her when I'd have a little sibling. When she tried to shake em off nicely while still saying she just wanted me, these people would straight up try to use me as a way to guilt my mom by asking me "but don't you want to be a big sister someday??" Is Lainey Molnar Art Personal?
When asked whether she has any personal favorites from her illustrations, Lainey said it’s the one where she compares “someone with physical health struggles” and “someone with mental health struggles.”
The artist shared that this is because it’s a very personal one. Lainey admits she struggled with her mental health for over 18 years. So, she is the one who knows how complicated it can be living with this invisible illness.
Even though Lainey usually explores female empowerment topics straightforwardly or funnily, the artist also adds, “Still, at the end of the day, we are all simply human beings. I find it crucial to address stigmatized topics because it gives so many of us relief to know that we aren't alone.”

What Motivates Modern Women Like Lainey?
Motivation and creative block are some of the most crucial topics for all modern women, especially artists. Lainey hasn’t had to experience creative block very often. The illustrator claims she simply has too much to say: “In an ideal world, a lot of what I’m communicating would be obvious, but as we’re not there yet, I don't mind processing the same pain points over and over again via a visual medium.”

Exactly! I've always thought those lights were terrible! Isn't that a marketing fail? I'd guess it would be smarter to use flattering lights ( and mirrors) so you look good, think the garment you're trying is also flattering and therefore buy the garment. In doing my little part to adress societies double standards, I did NOT raise my sons to see femails as trophies or conquest. I know this will sound old fashioned, but I have encouraged them to wait for marriage. I know that isn't going to happen, but it's a good baseline. As for my daughter. At 9 years old she is one belt away from her Black Belt in TKD, and I have been teaching her hand to hand and take down for self defense. I also take time to explain the physical advantages women have in situations. She also does jazz and tap dance. In short I won't have to be one of those dads who threatens her dates. We are raising a strong and confident young woman.

Nobody in this series has body hair. Even the one specifically regarding a 'natural body'. They are all totally shaved. ..Wild pubes, leg & armpit hairs are WOMAN. Also, petite & slim people have body image and societal pressure issues too. Ya know how many times in my life people have gone out of their way to say things like, 'Eat a burger or something.' It's important to note that screens, especially before bed, a bad sleep routine, a lack of physical movement & sunshine, and a bad diet contribute significantly to poor mental and physical health.

Some people don’t agree with them… some men wrote rude and hurtful things… “the number of how many jobs-oh wait women don’t have jobs” -Britney Raye Dunn. “But why is she so fat”- tee Witt “the fat one needs to cover up”- Robin Wodge, etc etc. first of all, these comics are written with a woman’s perspective, so obviously if will be written by a woman’s thoughts. That doesn’t mean men aren’t important and have their own issues. Secondly, stop fat shaming and beauty shaming people. That’s just twisted. Third of all, women are just a s capable as man. Abuse occurs from all angles. It's not just male on female, as women so wrongly proclaim (which is just a way to deflect from their own disgusting behaviors and attitudes). Abuse from a female is absolutely real, and happens a lot more than people think. I'd say they're actually more mentally abusive than males are overall. These kinds of cartoons ignore facts like that while at the same time try to claim they're about some kind of "equality" thing. Nope. It's about being the same way you claim men are, the actions of which you claim to hate. It's called hypocrisy and double standards.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS:)!!! It was so very healing to watch. We are so subconsciously influenced and to see it all was really healing. I would love to see one from a mans perspective too. It would probably be healing for men to age the many mixed messages they get too:) It would be great for men to see this and woman to she the men ones:) Thank you soooooo much for making this:)!

Abuse occurs from all angles. It's not just male on female, as women so wrongly proclaim (which is just a way to deflect from their own disgusting behaviors and attitudes). Abuse from a female is absolutely real, and happens a lot more than people think. I'd say they're actually more mentally abusive than males are overall. These kinds of cartoons ignore facts like that while at the same time try to claim they're about some kind of "equality" thing. Nope. It's about being the same way you claim men are, the actions of which you claim to hate. It's called hypocrisy and double standards.

Some women have to look at this to not feel like complete sh*t about themselves, myself included because men like you in this world (I'm assuming you're a man because most women can see why this means something) make us feel like we are crap for existing.
