Many dogs have been bred to the point where they only have hairs not fur...for human convenience, so we won't have to brush so much or clean up dog hair. It is cruel to think these dogs can be outside without anything to keep them warm. It is also cruel to have them out on hot days as they have no fur to insulate them from the heat.

You obviously think you know everything about wild animals, "BeCaUsE YoU wOrKeD aT 2 sHeLtErS" but that does not mean you know every situation of every animal and that no wild animal is happy as a pet... had a raccoon that had gotten its foot caught in a trap and completely mangled it trying to get out. The foot had to be amputated. After rehab, the raccoon could NOT be let back into the wild even after weeks of trying to reintroduce it, as it did not know how to hunt for food since was caught as a baby. You can't tell me that raccoon wasn't happy and healthy and loved, because you didn't know that raccoon. He played outside when he wanted and came in and ate and snuggled when he wanted. You make a lot of matter-of-fact comments like you know everything, but like it or not, you don't know every situation. No, pets are not accessories, and MOST wild animals are not meant as pets, but until you are omniscient, you don't know what every animal wants.

There are soooo many reasons why a raccoon could end up as a super happy and healthy pet. I've seen it. If it's not safe for them in the wild what should someone do? Keep it in a cage? Or take it on walks & love it?

There are no reasons since they are not a pet. You obviously know nothing about animal behaviour and welfare. I worked in two rescue centrums of wild animals. Racoons are not pets.

There are no reasons. In a shelter she or he will live in an enclosure, not a cage. A space big enough to socialize with their kind and be healthy and happy. You are obviously just an inmature kid who sees something "cute" and does not think about the consequences.

No, I worked at a shelter (not for long) they sit in CAGES by themselves and when everyone leaves work, the lights go off and they are completely alone with no socialization. The point of the comic was to NOT judge people, especially when you don't know the situation, yet here you and tons of others are, judging everyone who thinks differently, and you couldn't even be nice about it. 👏👏👏 Bravo

That can't apply to every raccoon. If one gets badly hurt & a vet helps. It still might not be safe in the wild soba rescue take it & it's just as happy & healthy. There are too many stories of people with pets they shouldn't have. I'm saying that the racoons may need help or was orphaned at a young age & had to be taken in. If released it would not survive.

Again. A reputable rescue do not dress their animals and treat them as dolls. You know nothing nothing about animal rescues or welfare. Stop spreading lies that harm animals just "because its cute" in your eyes to have a pet racoon. Its animal abuse.

But what if the raccoon was made for being a pet? Like some people dedicate their lives to breeding foxes so people can have them as pets. But I don’t care much about this- you shouldn’t take these things seriously. It’s just a motivational picture that was made by an really good artist

Again. Domestication takes decades if not centuries so no, no raccoon "was made to be a pet". Some foxes in russia have been bred for a few decades but even them arent considered domestic and suitable as pets for proper animal organisations. Believe me, I worked in two rescues where you saw the effects of people buying exotic pets. From a chimpanzee that ate his own hand due to stress and isolation to macaques who didnt know how to walk around the enclosure because they grew up in a bird cage to raccons, otters or caracals being abandoned because they are not pets.
