Unsurprisingly, there’s an entire community dedicated to such instances, which has amassed over 200k members already. The System Of The Broom
I did a stint teaching in a girl’s school in rural Cambodia. Most of them had been rescued from trafficking, the oldest was fifteen. I asked the principal what would happen if some local men tried to break into the school and hurt the girls (it was on the forest boundary with little fencing). She replied, “oh, then we k*ll them with clubs”. I may be a pacifist, but her answer seemed fair under the circumstances.
My wife and I watched a brilliant but disturbing documentary about so called "honour killings" called A Girl In The River. It was in Pakistan but the same happens elsewhere. Whilst men like that exist, young girls and women will never be safe. After watching we both had tears of rage at the callous disregard a lot of men in these countries have for the female population.
This women are totally badass warriors, but it does make me sad that this is needed.

Being a woman in Patriarchal countries like India, Pakistan, the Middle East is generally horrifying. Women uniting to take a stand is the beginning of change! Sad that this group has to exist but addressing an age old issue. The inequity of woman and the statistics of abuse that woman face globally needs to end, along with any ‘ism’ or phobia, or form of discrimination, maltreatment.

Where I live, once a year, on December 4th, women get together, dressed as witches, so you don’t recognize them. They form gangs, roam the street and beat up men with their brooms. No joke! It’s some kind of tradition here, which is totally accepted. Some men are even asking for it and searching these so called „Bärbeles“.
