Who hasn't wondered how they would look wearing the most glamorous outfits to famous events like the Met Gala or Golden Globes? However, some people take their dreams further, as John Drops did with his recreations of beautiful outfits using slightly simpler materials.
It all started when then 24-year-old advertising student João Paulo Anjos was watching the 2014 VMAs and noticed that the Balmain dress Kim Kardashian was wearing looked very similar to the rug at home. In a super-fast production, John Drops grabbed the mat, put a black cloth on his head, and that is how the first look was born.
John is now a bit of a celebrity himself, collecting over 1 million followers on Instagram.

John, who is now 31 years old, likes to use various cheap materials available to him, such as duct tape, cardboard, paper, and others, to recreate fabulous celebrity looks. His adaptations can take him somewhere between 15 to 30 min to make, depending on the difficulty.

In 2022, John went even further by wearing an outfit he created during the broadcast of the 2022 Emmy Awards on the E! Entertainment channel. The "fairy godmother" look he designed was inspired by actress Zendaya and actor Billy Porter.

I feel like someone could design a bunch of these types of outfits, then just have models with similar bodies walking outside celebrity homes getting papped pretending to be those celebs. Then the celeb would see it later and be like, wait....I didn't wear that s**t....did I !?!?
