I have never understood why people think gay or bisexual people have to come out and share that. When I knew I liked boys nobody expected me to come out as straight. I always told my kids if you love someone and they love you and you are kind to one another I don't care what sex they are. I would accept them with open arms because my children are everything to me and I just want them to be happy. I rather them be with someone kind and loving of the same sex than someone that treats them like dirt simply because they are the opposite sex.Had and so called friends or family not felt the same they would no longer be a part of our lives.

I remember being on a field trip in New Orleans when I was 10 years old and there was a gay couple sitting on a bench holding hands. I had never seen gay people showing affection before. When they got up to leave they said something to one another,laughed and kissed before they walked away holding hands and it's been ingrained into my brain for 41 years how happy I was to see them being so happy and free to be themselves. Talking about it even all these years later these two men had no idea how much of a life altering impression they made on a 10 year old little girl.

On a completely different note, I am currently supporting Ukrainian refugees by booking no-show Airbnb stays with some Polish people I found, who are driving to the border multiple times a day to pick up refugees. They bring them to the rental house and are letting them stay for free, feeding them, offering clothes etc. and helping them with the next leg of their journey. I have been able to inject cash to these amazing people and directly speak to some refugees to help them with information, all because they had an Airbnb. It's so good to be able to do even a little something to help, when the invasion and the exodus and all the suffering is weighing so heavily on my mind.
