30 Celebrities Photoshopped Side By Side With Themselves As Kids Show How Aging Has Changed Them
It might be a surprise to you, but for the most part, celebrities weren't always famous. With the exception of some extraordinary examples of when kids were put in the spotlight from a very early age, such as Macaulay Culkin, Haley Joel Osment, or Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, famous people were kids like everyone else. And they surely have some goofy and extremely adorable photos of themselves in their family albums. And if you are as curious how celebrities looked as kids as we are, you came to the right place—graphic designer Ard Gelick gives us this opportunity with his awesome twist!
Ard Gelinck has taken us on a trip down memory lane with a modern time machine called Photoshop several times before here, here, here, and here. He's well-known to netizens for putting iconic celebrities side by side with their younger selves, but this collection we've put together is by far the cutest! Gelinck photoshops celebrities with themselves from years ago and it looks as if they had just met themselves as little kids to hang out.

I've told this before but my ex LOVED fishing, staying at the piers until daybreak or fishing all day was normal. I liked fishing and being outdoors so it was cool. One night we were fishing and somehow we got on the topic of OBama. I said that he'd be cool to hang out and drink a beer with. Well my ex flipped the f out, berated me, made me pack up all the gear, by that time I was crying. All because I told him I thought Obama was cool, policies aside he just seemed like an alright person. And I still think he'd be a great guy to sit around and drink a beer with.

@Bob Belcher, go to vote dot org, they have a chart showing each states rules. ALL mail-in ballots have to be postmarked before or day of election; they can be *received and counted* up to certain dates after that (I think California has over 2 weeks?).... So this is a crazy quilt of state laws. Oh, and in PA, they can't *start* counting the votes till Election Day, bu tother states have other laws.

Gelinck made the first image for his "Then and Now" series about 10 years ago along with his brother. Fast forward to now, this hobby has escalated very quickly, but it came together naturally as the artist is a fan of the entertainment industry.
"I did a graphic education as a graphic designer. I have had lessons in drawing, design, drama, and photography. I really like the media. I love music, film, and TV. So to put celebrities together was a natural fit," Gelinck told Bored Panda.

Gelinck has found a unique way of portraying celebrities while also showcasing his amazing Photoshop skills. Some seamlessly edited photos of celebrities hanging out and interacting with their younger selves may even look like a glitch in the matrix. The meticulous blend of tones, contrast, environments, and scale of two completely different photos that, in this case, are decades apart makes us think twice about whether these people are actually the same person. This can only be achieved with great talent and a fair amount of time on hand, as one photo edit might take up to three hours.
"I find it the most challenging when some more difficult compositions have to be made of the 2 versions in the photo such as a hand on the shoulder or where they hug each other. As you can see, I use more diverse compositions in the image."

Yes, it was a show called "Doogie Howser, M.D"., about a child genius who became a doctor, but was still like a kid when not at work. It was a good show. The endings reminded me of the endings of many of "The Middle" shows, with some kind of deep thinking lesson about the show.

Simple side-by-side photos would have made the point, but the creator expended a lot of love and care in matching not only the photographic and emotional tone of the subjects but also in positioning the subjects together as if they were actually interacting. Anyone who thinks that maturation and the effects of ageing are best summed up by composite photos of pampered, photogenic people in their middle-years, showcasing a face, a hairstyle and an outfit, and complementing it by use of a caricature of youth is probably themselves a child.
