There are times in one’s life when one comes across that which is stranger than fiction. As Mark Twain explained it: “[...] it’s because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; truth isn’t.” No matter how outlandish or weird you deem your thoughts to be, there is a likely chance that it’s someone else’s present-day reality.
Thankfully (or maybe not so thankfully), these very people have decided to share their experiences or life lessons with all of us. Video after video enters the murky waters of TikTok every second, and some of them make one want to repent their sins, hug their cats, and scrub their brain out with a toothbrush.
One Twitter page, named “Wild TikTok Screenshots” decided to showcase the most shockingly unhinged bits of TikTok content, and today, dear readers, we’re sharing just a fraction of its madness. If, for some reason, you’d like more, here is an article we did previously.

There is no debate when it comes to the chaos of life. It’s a mess regardless of your social standing, gender, hair color, fashion style, etc. However, some things take the cake when it comes to the category of ‘what on earth did I just read/watch/experience.’ As you might expect, many of these can be witnessed in the wonderful world of TikTok.
For those of you who would like to keep all your brain cells intact and your hours wasted on something a little more productive, you may want to keep off the platform, as it is addicting as no other. But, if there’s a little voice of curiosity nibbling on your earlobe, then the Twitter page “Wild TikTok Screenshots” has you covered, posting some of the most unhinged things they find.
Although the page was only created in February 2022, it has managed to gain over 677.2K followers, each post getting thousands of likes and views. People seem to live for the chaotic content that pushes the boundaries of our understanding of existence as a whole, as well as diminishing the little amount of faith we have left in humanity.
But what is reality and what is our knowledge of it? Is what we see on the internet, social media, and TV really all there is? What about the fact that most of it is manufactured at least to the degree of it being one-sided? Lots of questions and, thankfully, even philosophers disagree; the greatest minds our species had the chance of experiencing fight with one another on what is true.
So, I had to have STI testing collection kits sent to my house over Christmas break because the clinic I run was closed until after the new yearand we needed more kits because the ones we had were expiring at the end of the month/year. I like to torture myself with trying to understand philosophy as a whole, so let’s go on a very short journey together into the Theory of Knowledge. Keith Lehrer of the University Of Arizona is going to be our aid in the search for the true and the fallacious. First things first, epistemology is the philosophical field revolving around (the study of) knowledge and how to reach it, whereas metaphysics is the theory of reality.
Where one asks what we know, the other asks what is real, with both overlapping, yet maintaining differences. According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, these notions are as old as philosophy itself. Plato attempted to understand what it was to know, and how knowledge (unlike mere true opinion) is good for the knower. Locke attempted to understand the operations of human understanding; Kant, to understand the conditions of the possibility of human understanding, and so on, and so forth.
No, no, he's got a point. Can you imagine if fire was invisible? It could run around like the adorably terrifying demon spawn we all know it is, free to set flame to *anything* it wanted without ever facing the consequences of its actions!
How do we as people come to know what we do and what conditions must be satisfied in order for that information to be believed? These two are interesting questions to consider as we see all these screenshots from TikTok. Are all of them true? Do we wish some of them weren’t, therefore placing them into the category of being untrue?
The first condition of knowledge is that of truth. The second condition of knowledge is acceptance. Sometimes we believe things that we do not accept; other times we may believe something for the sake of peace rather than for the sake of truth. However, accepting something as true does not suffice for knowledge, so we meet the third condition—justification.

René Descartes insisted that we must first decide what we can know about what is real and must remain skeptical about what is real until we have discovered what we can know. If you feel as though you don’t have enough brain squiggles to understand this, you’re not alone.
To simplify it all, for us to claim to know something, we must believe the thing to be true and accept it as such, with the aid of evidence and justification. That is a very basic structure of it all, and all these elements can be further debated, because there is no end to anything, after all. Especially when what we believe to be true may indeed be false. Dun dun dun, le plot twist!
So let’s apply everything that we learned today to these little snippets from TikTok. Just because someone is stating something, doesn’t make it real; however, our dislike for what they’re saying doesn’t make the statement false either. We can never know what is true when it comes to 10 seconds of content, and thus we let our emotions and predispositions lead the way.

I think we can all agree that life is a silly conundrum of randomness and coincidence that holds meaning for those that look greatly for it. Only time I was sent to the principals office in HS was because this kid kept farting, and no one laughed but me who was just a red shaking mess, trying so hard not to laugh while this stern faced teacher kept "WARNING ME". I almost had it but he did it again, and i just lost my mind. I went to the office and the principal laughed and we watched tv for a half hour. Good times.
He honestly doesn't look like the type to have had a good talk with his daughter first. But anyhow, bragging to the world, his daughter's world, about his lack of relationship skills, parenting skills, makes him an a$%, if not *the* a$%.

Well, it was over 20 years ago, so I'm sure there are lots of children/teenagers who don't know what these buildings are. EDIT: Reading all the responses here, I find it a little strange how many people think EVERYONE EVERYWHERE should know about it. There are huge events in other countries' history that many of us do not know about, but that doesn't mean that those of us who don't know are stupid. Yes, many countries learn about it, but many others don't. I am from Ireland, and I do remember where I was and what I was doing the moment I heard about it. But, in the country I live in now, I do not expect the average teenager to know about it. If they do, fine. If they don't, fine.
I'm thinking they may not be from the US. Since elementary school we've always learned about and discussed 9/11 on 9/11 as a remembrance day. Maybe some younger kids couldn't recognize the towers immediately, but they would probably still know about 9/11 if they were over the age of 7 or so (I can't remember when we first learn about it).

Ask an average US American if they heard of an event on some other continent, that happened 20+ years ago, that claimed around 5k lifes and see if they've heard about it.
What makes me sick, is the total disregard for all the deaths that were preventable during covid in the same damn country. It's amazing how minor external terrorism is worse that significant internal domestic terrorism.
9/11 happened when I was in seventh grade, and that day just so happened to be picture day. My classmate was wearing a "New York City" shirt with the towers on it.
I dated a girl who didn't know what 9/11 was. She was 18 when it happened.
Where was she from? Because I (living in Germany) only knew at the time because I was in school and we had a silent moment of remembrance. I can imagine plenty of people abroad were just having an average day that day.

I find it super weird that everybody remembers this but nobody ever remembers that time in 1993 when a yellow van had a bomb and tried making the twin towers fall from below by setting it off in the underground parking
I Didn't Recognize Them From This Picture. It Looks Like An Animated Or Computerized Picture Looking Up At These Buildings. And I've Seen Plenty Of Pictures And The Videos.
I confess, this is mega important to understand as it really kick-started the war on terror. It also started tons of new policies, Homeland Security, and more. Even much of the mentality about security is associated with this event. It also affected world politics. Still, if in the US. Should definitely know even if they do not recognize the pic. If from another country, I understand. U.S. does not remember their individual terrorist attacks or teach about them in school....U.S. are a-holes and selfish though....it is all about our individual rights and not the community or world community as a whole.
Just pointing out it's not the twin towers - it's two solid blue rectangles, while the towers had windows... I don't know what it is, but I'm guessing it's either small pieces of plastic or a 3D model.
Uhm, the buildings have neary 22,000 windows (that's twenty two thousands, for those who didn't graduate first grade), so the windows are not able to be represented with the few pixels of the low quality screenshot

Tbh, there are many kinds of smiles. I had the “there’s no heartbeat” moment and I probably smiled, albeit tightly, awkwardly and painfully, because it was that or just dissolve into hysterical sobbing. Also because for some reason I felt it was necessary to try and make the ultrasound tech feel better, since as I pointed out, it must be hard to share that kind of news.

As stupid as it is, I understand it; It's been hell trying to arrange my dad's ashes to go home. It's coming on 3 years but since he died from covid, and they still have no specific guidlines in place regarding deaths from covid in his home country, they have it under infectious disease which has a 10 year wait period before his remains can return to his home country. He deserves to go back home but definitely would not try this way because that's really gross.

FFS, I hope he deleted his post. I can actually kind of get it that teenagers / early 20's have no concept of what it was actually like watch each plane hit in LIVE time, ppl jumping from the windows falling to their deaths, ppl volunteering to help find survivors and got sick in the process and the poor puppers who were tasked with finding victims alive and instead because very upset and depressed because there wasn't anyone still alive. If you weren't there for the actual s**t show of having to watch it in real time, I can see why it wouldn't have that much of an effect on you.
