My ex friend used to be like my Wallace Wells. Super witty and charming. A class act. But after she transitioned her whole personality changed overnight. She was very, uh, forward about her body and wanted me to look at it. At the same time, my house was destroyed by flooding, my dog passed, and I was in the middle of a semester living in a hotel. I didn't really have the mind space to acclimate to my friend's new personality. This made her VERY upset. I tried to give it space but there was just SOME way she wanted me to act. We fought about it every day for a week. The final straw was her getting so god dang upset I didn't have a raving opinion about her new fursona while I was in the saddest chapter of my life. I blocked her and cried all night. 6 years of friendship down the drain.

[1/3 ]The beginning of this hits too close to home. After my best friend of 15 years transitioned, his personality changed so drastically I did not even recognise him anymore. He was not obnoxious like OP's friend but his personality did a 180° turn. We were friends since we were 13, he has always been the most easygoing, funny, chill kid who could always cheer me up with only one word or one silly smile. I stood by his side supporting him for all of his teenage years and early 20s while he tried to figure out his sexuality and gender identity. My family basically adopted him since his "family" were ábúsíve and homo/transphobic. After the transition he became so rude to me and our friends, he was always angry at everyone and I don't even remember seeing him smile.

[2/3] One time we did not invite him to play our usual online game with our friends (we all live hundreds of kilometers away from each other all across the EU so this was our way to "hang out") because he became so unpleasant to talk to, and he got so mad at especially me that he one by one started to turn all my friends against me. This was right after my dad was hospitalized with a heart disease and my sister had a miscarriage, I lost my university scholarship and got kicked out and my "friend" did not even check in with me or my family even though my family let him live with us, fed him, even bought him clothes for years when he was too afraid to go home to his grandparents. He fat shamed me (he was not thinner than me btw), he called me transphobic even though I always supported him and all of our queer and trans friends (and I'm queer myself.)

One time we did not invite him to play our usual online game with our friends (we all live hundreds of kilometers away from each other all across the EU so this was our way to "hang out") because he became so unpleasant to talk to, and he got so mad at especially me that he one by one started to turn all my friends against me. This was right after my dad was hospitalized with a heart disease and my sister had a miscarriage, I lost my university scholarship and got kicked out and my "friend" did not even check in with me or my family even though my family let him live with us, fed him, even bought him clothes for years when he was too afraid to go home to his grandparents. He fat shamed me (he was not thinner than me btw), he called me transphobic even though I always supported him and all of our queer and trans friends (and I'm queer myself.)

A VERY good friend ( call eachother sister, rent cabins together, etc) called me super drunk at five am to come get her, because she was fighting with her big. We had walked him home, then walked her home. She called him to come over. Both my partner and I had work in a couple hours, no car, and she lived a mile away. If she were truly scared call the cops. The next day I get an essay about what a terrible person I am, and that we'll never speak again. I'm hurt, but okay. I asked a mutual friend to get my three laptops back from her. Got another vitriolic message, and was told she'd thrown them away. Saw red. (For those wondering, she was never in danger. I know both parties well, and if there was violence, it was her. She didn't call the cops because of all the c*****e in her apt.)

After my best friend of 15 years transitioned, his personality changed so drastically I did not even recognise him anymore. His personality did a 180° turn. We were friends since we were 13, he has always been the most easygoing, funny, chill kid who could always cheer me up with only one word or one silly smile. I stood by his side supporting him for all of his teenage years and early 20s while he tried to figure out his sexuality and gender identity. My family basically adopted him since his "family" were ábúsíve and homo/transphobic. After the transition he became so rude to me and our friends, he was always angry at everyone and I don't even remember seeing him smile.
