If you enjoyed our publications on the subreddit 'Hmmm' and the Instagram account 'Please Hesitate,' I think you're going to love this one as well.

There's a Facebook page called 'Unusual And Funny Photos' and it provides exactly what the name promises without any context whatsoever.

Since 125,000 people already follow it, we thought you might like scrolling through its wild posts as well. From confusing road markings to creepy toilets, you never know what the next one is. And that's the beauty of it!

More info: Facebook

The no-context snippets have become so popular that Kathryn VanArendonk, a Vulture critic who mainly covers TV and comedy, tried to get to the bottom of it.

"Images taken from a TV show or movie and combined with a quote are an internet staple from way down deep in the Tumblr-verse, where GIFs and screenshots of beloved pop-culture objects have long been collected into easily shareable digital scrapbooks," she wrote.

However, VanArendonk pointed out that lately, it feels like they busted out of that particular niche and spread across the broader social-media landscape, where they've developed a distinct flavor and found a bigger audience.

"The no-context screenshot is no longer just intended for fans of a show who will love an image precisely for its context. Now, the no-context screenshot has become a deliberate act of yanking a particular moment out from its original framework," she said.

Part of why social media pages like 'Unusual And Funny Photos' are so have such big followings could be simply utility.

"An image is smaller and less finicky than a GIF, [and] it's easy to share across multiple platforms," VanArendonk said.

"It's easy to lift a single image from, say, Neo Yokio and set it off onto the internet, freed from its original framework."

The incongruity theory can also help us in understanding the phenomenon. It suggests that no-context images disrupt our normal thinking patterns, sparking surprise and amusement.

Such feeds not only capture our attention but also provide a break from all the mundane posts we're used to seeing day in and day out. 'Unusual And Funny Photos' align with our psychological inclination to seek novelty, and capitalizes on it pretty well, if you ask me!

Nope, too much weight in/on the cupboards. If an earthquake had done that, it would've shaken everything, so the bottom cupboards and drawers would be in chaotic positions, too -- and the power would probably be out (the ceiling light is on).

Poor workmanship. That's not enough weight to bring those cabinets down if they were installed correctly.

I had a cupboard come down similar to this because the contractor thought the lath of my plaster walls was the studs.

My cousin got caught up under collapsed kitchen cabinets exactly like this picture. A few scrapes and bruises but luckily no serious injury. Once she was checked up and able to laugh about it she said the funny part was the plates kept sliding out one by one hitting her head bam…bam…bam… and she was just wondering if the next plate will be the one to finish her off. New kitchen, too small screws used to attach to wall.

This exact thing happening is one of my worst nightmares. This type of s**t happens when a house is being finished up on a Friday afternoon.

They clearly didn’t think screws were needed on the top of the cabinets…. (No holes in the drywall)

This is exactly what happened to our kitchen in the Sylmar Quake of '71. Except our fridge also opened its door, ejected the contents, and then shut again.

Methinks the contents were a bit too heavy for the anchors in the cabinets. Throw most of that stuff out.

This is what happens when you install cabinets without anchoring them into the wall studs.

Cheap carpentry. I lived in a home where the kitchen cabinets were replaced. One of the grandkids was on the counter, barely able to hold up the falling cabinet.

This wasn't attached to studs. You can see the drywall screws. It wouldn't take an earthquake for the cabinets to fall.

Why I don't mind that we kept our 1978 kitchen soffits when we got new cabinets in 2002. They are secured at the back AND top.

This happened to me, almost killed my cat. The cabinet back stayed on the wall, the sides and shelves disconnected and launched at an impossible angle across my kitchen somehow.

I feel bad for the folks, who live there and have to clean-up the mess. I hope they can call the same builders and have them repair it for free, for the very bad job they did.

"I save so much money by installing them myself!" /S I used to live with some friends in a spec home (housing tract). One cabinet did this to me. She kept her canned goods in it so lots of weight. Thankfully it just startled me but didn't land ON me. I remounted it properly anchored into the studs. Contractor had just used some of those plastic things into the sheet rock. No excuse for being so sloppy.

Idiot installer just used drywall anchors instead of locating the studs.

Would the owners even notice as the kitchen looks like it was a right mess before all the stuff fell out of the cupboards

This is not conjoined twins. It’s one woman with her head over the shoulder of her friend, hugging from behind. Accidentally, the effect unfortunately mimics the look of the famous twins, whose names escape me, who had that tv show.
