30 People Who Hardly Have Any Haters, As Shared By Folks In This Online Community
There are a lot of great qualities that people have that make others like and appreciate them. Some famous and well-known people come under more careful scrutiny when it comes to proper behavior as they are very often expected to show how nice and polite they are behind the cameras, how they treat others, and how compliant they are. Having this in mind, a Reddit user called @bpm918 was curious to find out some examples of such people. The user asked folks online to reveal “who is the most universally liked person in the world” in their mind.
The question that received more than 4k upvotes soon was filled with various answers. What was interesting to notice is that the names mentioned the most included actor Keanu Reeves, star legend Betty White, and singer and actor Dolly Parton.
Do you agree with the list? Who do you think is the world’s most universally liked person that wasn’t mentioned in the list? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments down below!

I would say Keanu Reeves, but he’s so awesome, he goes beyond being the most universally liked.

Dolly Parton.

Giving free books to millions of kids and using a part of your fortune to open an amusement park with the sole purpose of giving people jobs will do that.
She did more for the vaccine in America than any politician we have.
That one Russian commander who decided not to nuke America, which would’ve led to probably the entire world getting destroyed, anybody who knows of him should like him
Theres a story to this. The Russian command received an alert that the U.S. has launched several nuclear misses to the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Instead of “Turning the key” he waited, and waited, and waited, nothing happened. It was soon found out that there was an error in the system and that it has falsely received an alert. Think about this for a minute. He must have had needed a new change of pants. But he also could have made this world a barren wasteland. This man should be recognized everywhere.
Bob Ross
Mr. Rogers
I challenge anyone to find a single negative thing that guy ever had anything remotely to do with.
I'm sure he's lovely but he's not really known outside of the US, so not sure 'universal' is right.

Tom Hanks
redvinebitty replied:
Yep, I’ve lived in two foreign countries, where people would b**ch about American movies and all things American ad nauseam, until Hanks showed up. “ooh, Tom Hanks”, the universal remark.
Rowan Atkinson? I bet Mr. Bean plays well all over the world. Hundreds of millions of people could love that dude and never even hear him say a peep. Eliminates a lot of potential controversy.
I know him from the hilarious Black Adder series...especially #2 and #3!
Chadwick Boseman. As a superhero I think he garnered worldwide attention. Whatever country you came from Black Panther was able to be reached to millions of viewers and became fans.
A lot of the mentioned people in this thread are only famous in the US
I stopped reading every publication that used the headline "Crack Panther" he was dying at the time although most didn't know it. There was never any reports of him being involved in drugs and the media should have done more investigation rather than assuming he was an addict.
Steve Irwin
Unpopular opinion: as someone who worked in the wildlife business in Africa, all I can say is that while his enthusiasm for animals was unmatched, he was repeatedly reckless in the way he approached and handled animals. While his death was tragic, it could easily have been avoided if he had kept the practice of treating wild animals with respect, and not crowding them, baiting them and interfering with them.
Our national treasure, Danny DeVito
Idk if this counts but Oskar Schindler, he saved 1200 Jews by employing them in his ammunition and arms factory as he saw in the concentration camps even though he was apart of the Nazi party very interesting
He isn’t exactly a hero, but neither a villain ( so many people will downvote this i know it )

Like 20 years ago Anne Hathaway was on Conan and said that Julie Andrews “swore like a sailor” when they were working on Princess Diaries.
Hilarious.
My very first “girl crush” when she played Maria in Sound of Music! She was beautiful and she sang like an angel. My favorite with her is Victor/Victoria.
Viggo Mortensen. Anyone who knows of him loves him.
I can only ever think of him as Aragorn, son of Arathorn, the first High King of Gondor.

eivelyn replied:
She had a heck of a lot of haters when she was still alive, for "ruining the royal reputation", being "promiscuous" and opinionated. Royalists were scandalised by her actions, saw her as the sole villain in a disastrous marriage and had no empathy for her. After she passed away
people mostly started to drop the vitriol and dramatic changes to culture around the treatment of women has put a more empathetic light on the memory of her.
She did a lot of good. And she didn't deserved what happened to her. But i don't like how people started hate Camilla after her death. Camilla never did anything loud, scandalous for revenge or attention seeking when Charles didn't marry her, because she was unsuitable for the heir of the throne. I am glad she finally married a man she loved for so long.

Not sure how this isn't a top vote. Even for people that don't like his movies or acting in particular, I'd say they're generally aware of all the charity and stuff he gives away to deserving people, and has been completely scandal free as far as I know. Beyond that, he is always smiling and speaks in a way that people enjoy listening to, both his voice and manner of communicating. Highly likeable guy.

I worked as an extra on a movie set, and the first thing we were told "Don't look at DW. Don't speak to DW. Don't make eye contact with DW" I was prepared to dislike him, but we were a gospel choir, led by our Aunt Peg. Well, DW ended up spending time with her and enjoying the gospel music. It was beyond awesome.
Rick Astley
“NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP, NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN, NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU. NEVER GONNA TELL A LIE, NEVER GONNA SAAAY GOODBYE, NEVER GONNA RUN AROUND AND DESERT YOU.”
Either Mom or grandma
Shaquille O’Neal
Shaq is a good dude, he's just a big personality. He made sure that his shoes were affordable for low income families who didn't have money for Jordans or other nba star shoes
Matthew McConaughey. Conservatives love him because he is conservative. Liberals love him because he's a great actor who is not offensively conservative.
Jesus of Nazareth. There is a lot of hate for him, but he’s probably one of the most liked people in the world. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all treat him as a prophet or messiah. That alone amounts to billions of people. Regardless of religion, he was a historical figure that preached kindness and love (even though some of his followers don’t live by that).
I don’t hate Jesus ! I hate people that act shitty and then congregate in his name so that their shitty behavior will be forgiven. Or something like that
I'm losing the will to live here... There's Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and Anne Frank to choose from, and the people went for a bunch of effing actors. 😢
What about Jane Goodall? Sister Wendy? George Takai? Jonas Saulk? No one can be everything to everyone, but there are many people who aren't just charismatic or kind, but have done things for others.
Sister Wendy. The way she was very effusive when looking at naked statues. Giggle fest.
Load More Replies...What? No Willie Nelson? The guy is a national treasure and he is not going to be around that long.
Horrible, but there are a huge number of racists who would disagree.
Load More Replies...my wife worked somewhere when Weird Al came in. Said he was a complete jerk to everyone. I still like his music though.
Load More Replies...The Danish Queen. Margrethe 2. 50 years on the throne and we are loving her more than ever. She is smart, an artist, speaks several languages, popular around the world and down to earth among the citizens whom she loves the most...
I'm not sure but betty white, tom hanks, bob ross, keanu reeves, mr. rogers... I missed one or two probably.... the rest aren't necessarily universally liked. Robin Williams probably.....as well.
Bob Ross and Mr. Rogers are more liked in the U.S. than anywhere else.
Load More Replies...I think Bill Murray is a self important and pretentious ass. I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't like the Dalai Lama.
Hmm yes... kind of hard to say that someone who is in exile is universally liked.
Load More Replies...Adriano Celentano. He is like Saint for Italy. He is so beloved, poor people wright to him about their problems, and politicians listen to him. He became famous singer with not Luciano Pavarotti-like voice and sex symbol with receding hairline. And he is still with his wife of his age. We love him in Russia. Italians here?
Half-italian, I hope that's enough? :-) I totally agree with you.
Load More Replies...This is the age we live in. Celebrities are the most universally liked people in the world? Even though you know nothing about them or their personal lives? They literally act and get paid. And if they are into philanthropy, then chances are everyone knows about as it's usually done as a means of self promotion. Oooo look a celebrity who earns $5 million a year gives away $500k to a homeless charity. Or look, a celebrity who isn't shitty to the people they work with! If that's the definition of 'universally liked' then I despair. But then again, who voted for these people? Reddit users?
Probably just me, but I think Alice Cooper (currently) should be up there.
Currently playing a lump of wood in an advert for beds in the UK. I love his voice.
Load More Replies...I was going to say John Cena, because the guy has granted more than 650 Make-A-Wishes to sick children over the years, but then I realized that he was probably on the list and I just didn't see him.
I think Dr Jeff Young (and his wife and team) - Rocky Mountain Vet - should be added. For people who are not rich, their companion animals are often all they have and knowing that they can get help for Dr Jeff is often a blessing to them. More vets should be like him.
I've always heard good things about David Spade. He may talk s**t, but I heard he gives a lot to charities, does charity work, etc. He's a good guy.
No Dave Grohl? I thought everyone loved him, even though I think his music is awful.
When it comes to actors I always thought Christipher Walken seemed kind of chill to hang out with. Ofc. there will always be people who dislike him.
George Takei. Ryan Reynolds. Alicia Keys. Tony Hawk. Kylie Minogue. Jason Momoa. Kate Middleton. Sandra Bullock. Mark Hamill. Jennifer Lawrence. Keira Knightley. Emilia Clarke. Emily Blunt. There are so many people who you just never read anything but good things about.
William Shatner would disagree with your inclusion of George.

For the whiners going on about how "they're all fooking actors", and/or "they're all fooking Americans", I'll simply point out that the subject of the post is people who (supposedly) have few haters, not people who are world famous or people who have contributed significantly to society, and if they're predominantly Americans, perhaps that's because more Americans submitted examples. Perhaps, if you feel the particular piece of dirt you call home is being underrepresented, you should try submitting your own examples instead of crying about the people who did.
John Cena deserves to be on the list for granting more Make-a-wish visits than any other celebrity
Chuck Norris. People are too afraid of Chuck Norris to hate Chuck Norris.
There is Ratan Tata and JRD Tata... or the TATA family or company in general...
I'm going to say the HermitCraft, Empire SMP and most of those involved in the Minecraft community. Also the horror narrators on You Tube the support they give each other and those coming up in the ranks is amazing.
I have some! How about Tom Holland, Joan of Arc, and Zendaya?
Joan of Arc was unpopular with a few folk in her time. There’s a reason that she got burned at the stake. Your other two have done little of note beyond acting in films, they aren’t exactly up there with those who have given something to humanity.
