Thinking of taking a trip somewhere? Then you might not want to fly United Airlines. Not unless you want to get your ass kicked that is. Because as you might already be aware, the airline is currently weathering a storm of controversy after disturbing video footage emerged of them violently removing a man from an overbooked flight from Chicago to Louisville, US.
The video shows the man refusing to disembark the aircraft after United announced that four people had to give up their seats. Despite declaring that he was a doctor who had patients to attend to, the airline had law enforcement wrestle the man from his seat before dragging him bruised and bloodied off the plane. I am very very disappointed at how i was treated on the phone today.......by United Airlines. After seeing a video clip on the news i phoned them up, and i was polite and courteous, and asked if i could please get a price on how much it would cost to get my brother in law beaten up and dragged screaming off a plane. I even tried to explain to them that he was an obnoxious drunk and it would be best to get him early . I received very poor service in my opinion, so i shall not deal with them any further

Literally, the policy...you "volunteer" by either walking off or being dragged out and beaten so someone they deem more important like staff can have that seat. They were not overbooked because paying customers were in their seats. Just shows that you are truly second class when you pay for second class and anything can happen to you.

The service is great, because ME3 treats their stewardesses horribly. They are terrified! ME3 treats the girls like cattle, and punishes them for any complaint they receive, legitimate or not. welcome to 2017, the day when people passively stand by and hit record on their phones rather than intervene, or run for help. I've seen videos of people video taping others overdosing in stores on heroine and rather than use their phones to call 911, they are recording. its sickening.

As a result of this incident, a 69-year-old doctor has a concussion, a broken nose, and missing teeth due to POLICE BRUTALITY. If we learned anything from 9/11, it is that large numbers of passengers must take down the thugs (aka hijackers.) This is no different. What are the thugs (aka cops) going to do -- machine gun everyone to death?

To avoid empty seats, airlines often sell tickets to more people than the plane can seat, hoping several people will not show. When there are still too many passangers, airlines offer vouchers or cash for the ones willing to reschedule their plans. But usually before everybody boards.

I get that people think it’s funny and are making memes about it, but it’s also had that someone was treated like that. I’ve only flown on one airline in my entire life, and that’s Southwest, but if I was flying with an airline that treated their customers like slaves, I would get right back off the plane after helping that man.

There has to be more to this story. I don't believe that what has been reported are the full facts. There has to be more to it. United are unable to respond with their version as they are now in a legal battle. I would like to hear the airline version before casting my judgement.

Sell something on Amazon or Craigslist or Ebay that you've already sold to someone else - and you're committing a felony - it's called fraud. Why is this allowed to happen with the airlines? Someone buys a ticket and is a no show, well, the airline has their money. "Oh, sorry, my ....... had a ......., and I couldn't make the flight." and you get your money back? Problem is we've accepted the fact that no one has to be accountable for their actions anymore, instead someone doing everything right and laudable has to pay the price - that's today's bigger issue. That, plus corporations feel they can get away with anything.

They had to free up four seats for the flight crew. They asked for volunteers offering vouchers, but no one did. So, they randomly selected four ppl. He said he needed to get back to attend patients and refused to leave. Security dragged home off. I'm not condoning the airlines behavior just explaining what was on the news.

Wow...I totally missed this case. Overbooking happens of course, but is it not a harsh security violation by the airline to let passenger onto the plan who are not supposed to fly in the first place? Anyway, let's hope this poor guy will get a nice compensation settled.
