I remember reading on why women aren't given pain meds during gynecological procedures (IUD insertions, colposcopy, LEEP, etc) and read the line "female pain is more acceptable to the medical community than male pain." And that really stuck with me.

Women have been treated as lesser since the beginning of time. Yes, there have been matriarch societies in history where women are the dominant gender, but the world has been mostly patriarchal, and created a space to oppress women. Religion has made it worse, as there are /multiple/ oppressive major religions, but it's not the root of the problem. Men have never needed religion as an excuse to control and oppress women. Religion doesn't have to be inherently oppressive, in fact, in my Christian church, the pastors advocate for women in the workforce, as equals to men. Someone asked how to get his wife to submit to him and they laughed in his face. But religion is still used to oppress. Many churches in the south have ostracized churches that have hired women to be pastors. Religion is a part of the problem, but it is not /the/ problem.

And strangely enough all pain women experience are imagined and only in their heads. This is so fudged up.

I have Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, neuropathy in my feet and I cant get pain meds any stronger than Tylenol 4. And those just hurt the stomach.

They actually believe this and it gets worse if you're black too..

Had Eve not "tempted" Adam with the apple, none of us would exist (if u believe in that sort of thing). With the eating of the apple came the knowledge and ability to reproduce and raise children. So blaming all the worlds evils on women is not really fair. Because without us, life would not exist. It was all a way for the catholic hierarchy to change the religions of the time from Matriarchal to Patriarchal societies, and it worked like a charm

Maybe it's a thing, that women have higher pain tolerance. Think of the videos where men get hooked to a period cramps simulator. Most reactions are quite bad, whilst the women said they they feel very little of it or nothing at all. And it makes perfect sense to me, because women have to handle birthing pain.

I just had a root canal, and was also prescribed ibuprofen. I didn't even need to use it though. I had virtually no pain from it!

And DOCTORS are doing this?! Never heard of that in Europe...

Religion has nothing to do with the scientific fact that men can handle bigger amounts of pain, but women can support pain wayyy longer.

You are correct, the woman deserved Percoset. But we do admire your ability to give birth, so there's some proof that women handle pain better. This is said with full sincerity about the courage women show in the maternity ward, and I do not think women are supposed to suffer.

It’s true. It happens. I’ve had physical AGONY since I was about 13.. won’t go into details here. It’s been PROVEN what the issue is, but my former GP whom I got stuck with asked and claimed ‘So you think it’s all in your head?’

What does this have to do with religion? In fact, a lot of religions have the view that men should be able to tolerate more pain so her opinion is in backward.

Sad, but true. I was told for years that my back pain was because I was a few pounds overweight and that it would get better if I just walked more. Lost the extra weight, but still had horrible back pain. Changed doctors because he wouldn't take me seriously. New doctor quickly diagnosed me as having scoliosis.

We should just stab him! Then he can demonstrate to us how to properly hold the blood in!

I never wanted to have children (and I don't). In my early 20's I looked into getting a hysterectomy and my doctor said that if I met a guy and he wanted kids, I would regret it. So my doctor and the imaginary husband had more rights than I do.
