This Is My Daughter's Bathroom Pass. The Students Can Use The Bathroom (During Class) 5 Times During The 9 Weeks. After The 5th Time, The Student Gets Detention
So, my daughter is 12 and is in middle school. Today she came home and told me that she started her period and bled through her pants. When I asked why she didn't go to the bathroom, she said she already used her five time limit for the nine weeks. I asked what happens after she used up the five times, she said that she would get detention. She said she asked the teacher but the teacher told her no unless she wanted to explain why she needed to go. IMO, a 12 year old girl shouldn't have to stand up in front of her class and tell everyone she's on her period. She was pretty upset and apologized, I'm more upset the school would allow this. There is nothing in the school policy about this five time bathroom limit, the kids only have 3 minutes in between classes, she's not allowed to go during lunch, and if she gets too many detentions she's off her softball team! When did schools agree that going to the bathroom is a privilege and not a right?!

Unless it was due to a dietary restriction or like a major allergy why can't you bring food for another kid? And if you do and they have an allergy can't the teacher just explain that or is that considered a HIPAA violation? And to be punished for it?? None of this makes sense to me at all.

ERs are always bad to wait but they have legitimate reasons. I was one of them once, so I can't complain. But for regular appointments, twenty minutes is all they get and then I'm gone. That's my rule of thumb. I go places knowing I won't be waiting anywhere, for a friend, a doctor, on the phone, for anything for longer than twenty minutes. Saves me a lot of anger.

When I was a kid I was a movie usher and it was our job to clean up messes like this. Then the movie theaters convinced everyone that it's not nice to let someone else clean up after you and then they fired all the ushers. Most of these "please bus your own table" rules are cost-cutting measures, not the for the employees' sake. Make a mess and keep an usher employed!

I have a colleague who has a scent-based allergy, to the point where she feels nauseous whenever anyone wears perfume etc near-ish to her. I feel awful the couple of times I've forgotten, and do my best to not do that (especially as she is the sweetest woman ever! Not that I wouldn't for someone less sweet; it's just added incentive). The fact that the parents heard that their kids are allergic and just... casually ignore it because their "oils" are 'totes better'... some people need neutering/spaying; honestly.

Many years ago went to see Tina Turner. Had people like this in front of us drunk and dancing out of their seats the entire time. Maybe stadiums should have standing room only locations. Then include a disclaimer letting people who stand up in seats will be asked to leave.

I don't know where this is, but it's illegal where I used to live. I saw a guy dump chemicals into a creek that ran behind some houses. ALL the neighborhood kids played in that creek. He had a carpet cleaning business. Law enforcement told me to call the EPA. They were NOT happy. I don't know how big the fine was.

She seems to have enough will and energy to change his eating habits if only she could use it to change hers. My best advice for weight loss - start really, really hating yourself. So that when you hurt yourself during a gym class you do not comfort yourself, but punish yourself with eating lettuce for a week. You will not make the mistake again. You will go and you will work out out of pure fear of the lettuce. It is probably super unhealthy, but worked like a charm for me. But also fat does not mean ugly. It depends on the proportions, but also a lot how you feel about yourself. I mean, here I am, normal weight, but still ugly, well... at least I can cry and run at the same time😂

Reminds me of the first computer they gave me at the bank (about 1990). A TRS-80 with an 8" external floppy. I could get 1 spreadsheet on 1 floppy. The hard drive was so small it was nearly consumed by the OS. I was saved by the security supervisor, he fist bumped the cabinet the computer was sitting on and crashed the hard drive.

This feels fake. Pretty sure there would be some kind of motion blur in the background if they were going that fast. It's blurry because of the quality, but you can make out some details I doubt you could at 75-80. The internet is a weird place, and you can't believe everything on it.

Can't hold a phone and drive but touchscreen controls for everything on the car are ok and driving under the influence of MJ, d***s or alcohol are ok. At any given moment, at least 25% of the drivers around you are under the influence of something. Something that greatly affects their driving ability.

Last year lost an acquaintance to that. She used to be an intelligent and compassionate woman but refused chemo cause "it would ruin her health" and chose essential oils and chaga (a type of wood fungus- really big here) instead. When it got really really clear the oils and fungi dont do sh..t, she tried to get chemo but the doctors had to tell her it would make no difference anymore. The funeral was last november. Actually made life worse for a lot of people, because the lady was a champion for children with mental disabilities and the beloved principal of one of the few schools for such children.

Same in US (required in 48 of 50 states). The plates above are from Iowa, which does require liability. People cancel the insurance or put on an expired license plate and just drive around with no insurance or properly registered vehicle. This doesn't happen in Germany? Also wouldn't be surprised if their driver's license is already suspended or revoked before they did this.

There are more photos in the original post. Damage is all along the rear bumper. It doesn't look super bad, but according to OP the frame is bent and the airbags deployed, which are both automatic totals. Looks like the collision happened elsewhere, probably within the car park but in moving traffic, and they parked it up here for safety

In my state, we have the handheld devices law, which makes it illegal to hold your phone to text or talk or view while you are on the road. Using a hands-free holder, like this woman is using, is fine, and yeah it is weird to see but it's fine. You can get a ticket if you cause an accident by not keeping your eyes on the road though. It's easy to prove using your phone's history

I wouldn't call it professional homeless, you don't know how long they've been there, and what else they do to find shelter, money, work. If it's that they are relaxing instead of begging, you would complain about begging, I'll bet. One thing I am sure about: majority of homeless people do not panhandle. Many panhandlers are not homeless but do claim to be to solicit maximum sympathy. And they gotta wear old clothes, because being homeless means you have to appear scruffy (?). It s ucks all around to be homeless because people judge you. It's not fun to panhandle either but you never know the person's experience, so either give them money or don't. Don't assume you know about them

Sure, there are some that abuse 'the system'. That happens everywhere, in everything. This is why I try and give someone food/a warm drink/a blanket etc if I see them begging, because it generally separates the genuine people from the 'professionals' or the ones that want money to feed an addiction. Quite a few have dogs in the CBD, so perhaps something for the doggo as well. If they refuse and say they only want money, I don't feel so bad in walking away.

There's no law that says you have to be uncomfortable when you're homeless. When I was living in my truck, I had a heater and a camp stove and plenty of blankets. I hate people who think if you're homeless or on welfare or on food stamps, you have to be wearing a hair shirt all the time, and never laugh, never smile, and never ever be comfortable.
