Checkout My Trippy, Trail-Infused Portraits Created After Nearly A Decade Of Experience Making Photographic Art With Only Light

Hey there, I'm Reid, AKA Harmonic Light! I've been making light painting photos for nearly a decade at events, parties, weddings, corporate settings and more! At this point, over 99% of the images I've taken have been gifted to subjects in full resolution without any compensation from the venue/subject/event in the name of art and helping people express themselves! My focus has been to create things that no one would ever believe were created without the use of photoshop or any post-processing software! ALL of these images are straight out of the camera!

Subjects normally take a seat and are asked a small series of questions to get in tune with their highest self! We ask for their favorite colors, shapes, and things they love in their own lives; sometimes, I'll have a feeling to ask a particular question to just one of the subjects and create as unique of an image as possible with the information we collect! Instinctually I feel guided to create some images for people to help them on their spiritual path or evolution somehow, shape, or form. In many of these images, I feel I am a very enthusiastic conduit of a force of nature using flow to create the most inspirational and positive piece of art that is at all possible in our world to help them grow into their enlightened self!

Enough about me! Let's talk tech! I use a Sony A7R IV Camera (61 megapixels). I'll often shoot using a tethered laptop or desktop computer or immediately preview the image on a large OLED TV or laptop etc.

The camera is set to BULB exposure with subjects frozen still in positions they choose to express who they are in any way they feel. Exposure is opened via wired remote (with slide-lock) and the magic begins! Using super-high-resolution LED Wands of many sizes loaded with many custom made patterns (created by an amazing artist named Brian Pollett AKA Pixel-Pusha as well as SOME of my own images/art that I've recycled to use as a brush to paint future light paintings!) I Walk through the frame, behind the subject, around them, illuminating their bodies with varying timing depending on the color of their skin or clothes), faces, mixing colors and surroundings with modified RGB Color shine flashlights, Modified Ignis HD LED Wands, Fiber optic whips, other flow toys, and MANY other types of tools (many custom-made). When I'm done, I click the shutter closed and the image comes to life on a nearby screen! A unique world of art & light that is suited to their tastes and personality!

I've created SO many images over the years. It's a bit hard to keep count, but I'm definitely over 75,000 paintings and 100,000+ people! Images are then normally immediately emailed to subjects in high resolution for them to enjoy! I try to bring the experience to as many places as I can; I've shot for over 80 festivals (LIB, Symbiosis, Envision Costa Rica, MANY Burning man events (all free and decommodified), and SO many more!) 600 events, and have had the honor of shooting for many of the worlds (and MY) favorite companies! (Apple, TEDxLA, The Grammys, Visa, Samsung, Electronic Arts, The San Francisco 49ers, Adidas, Cisco, MTV Wonderland, Snapchat, Crunchbase, and more!).

My goal is to enable this art form to be MUCH larger than today by creating a whole ecosystem of LED infused paintbrushes, Flashlights, wands, and CUSTOM made for this wonderful art form! That work together to make the world's most immersive environment (reality itself) just as complex and immensely mind-blowing of an ART FORM as it is of a reality! Enabling graphic artists to submit their work to an online store for people to download and use in their own photographs so that artists and light painters can collaborate in space and time! To enable activists around the world to spread messages of peace and positivity through art, to allow people in ALL walks of life to participate in an art form that has MANY life-changing capabilities and wondrous qualities, and to change the way people think about the reality around them and the possibilities within it! The most beautiful art is the REAL LIFE we live in and the unlimited beauty in its possibility when we all focus on making the world a better place!
