Human beings can be complex. While we all understand that showing kindness is a net positive for society, many of us still go the exact opposite route and become total jerks.

One can argue that such behavior can be unintentional at times, but the following photos you’re about to see appear to be behaviors of deliberately inconsiderate people. We’ve all encountered one at least once, and it is never a pleasant experience.

Thankfully, these photos serve as a reminder of how not to act as grown adults and a way to shame such actions.

People Who Don’t Return Shopping Carts Are The Worst™️

Shopping cart parked improperly in a parking space, illustrating people allergic to acting like sensible adults in public.

Got psyched to see a spot close to the door, only to find this. Right next to the cart return thing?! Really? If you are a person who doesn’t return your cart, do better.

So, make carts that need a coin to detach them from the line of carts, so everyone puts them back in the line to get the coin back. Everywhere else in the world does it....

Also on my list are the people who technically return their cart, but just give it a shove instead of nesting it in properly. The loose carts fill up the cart corral so you can't return your cart without rearranging the ones already there.

This does rile me up since the abandoned carts block parking spaces and pedestrian walkways. I try to push as many as I can to the cart return, taking one into the store for my own use.

I mean, the trolley area *is* a hundred miles further from where they left it. At least, that's how morons' minds work. Or maybe they were in a hurry to get back to their car that was parked across two spaces, or in a handicapped space.

Even the ones that get put in the corral are a mess because no one can figure out that the carts fit into the one in front of it to save space.

I do try to give folks the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they were chasing their toddlers and then forgot in the fluster. I can throw that away for you. Where I do get mad is in grocery stores when people leave raw meat on unrefrigerated shelves. I once smelled something funky when I was in the deodorant aisle and found a package of raw chicken stuffed into the shelf. That's not okay on many levels

Doesn't matter what products are on the shelf, just don't do it. This is right up there with finding packages of refrigerated foods tossed onto any old shelf because the customer decided against purchasing and was to selfish to return it to its rightful place.

Preventing Others From Holding The Pole

Person gripping a pole on crowded public transit, illustrating people allergic to acting like sensible adults in daily life.

Busy commute to work, and this woman is leaning against the pole, on her phone, taking up as much room as possible, preventing people from getting on the train while leaning on my hand the entire commute.

She turned around and angrily stared at me like I was invading her personal space.

The entitlement is simply incredible to witness.

Ha! I never let that stop me. I took BART into San Francisco for years. If someone was leaning against the pole I would politely try to get them to move a bit. Failing that, I would grab the bar right where the curve of the next left a little room. If a little hair got caught? Too bad, so sad, next time MOVE. 😁

As Dr. Pagoto explains, cognitive empathy is about the ability to understand another person’s perspective. It’s saying, “I can understand why you reacted that way,” and is a key skill for conflict resolution.

Meanwhile, emotional empathy is about feeling what the other person is going through at that moment. It’s the strong emotions you may feel for another person’s situation, whether you’re happy for a sibling who passed the bar exam or sad for a friend who lost a loved one.

Same. I was painting miniature figurines at my workplace (Wizards of the Coast, a board game/RPG game store) years ago and a guy sat down next to me at our big central table (where many a miniatures battle was held) and told me that painting miniatures was... apparently the gateway to letting demons and Satan into my soul? Apparently gaming is evil and Satanistic and will d**n your soul? I don't get it. Ironically, my ex tells me about the OTHER religions who knock on his door sometimes (Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons) to give him pamphlets, and when they ask if he's saved (or whatever their equivalent is) and he says no, they're SUPER chill about it and don't try to cram their religion down his throat. Whereas every single Christian I've ever met has done just that. And my adoptive family is Mexican, so 99% of them are Christian. I'm VERY familiar with their B.S., unfortunately. (My aunt told me, a few days after my dad had an accident and sustained catastrophic brain damage, that God did it purposefully because, and I quote, "God only gives us the burdens we can carry." Apparently at age 18, I could "carry the burden" of a brain-damaged, completely disabled father and that was somehow better, in God's mind, than HAVING MY DAD HEALTHY AND FINE.)

Passionate empathy occurs when you take action based on your emotional empathy. It’s when you’re driven to donate to a cause or help someone who is in dire need.

According to Dr. Pagoto, our ability to empathize varies, depending on our disposition at the moment. As she explained, stress, for example, can suppress that ability to express empathy.

We back on to a park and there used to be an unofficial trail across a corner of the yard that people would use to access it. Didn't bother us until we were cleaning up around a small shed it ran by. People were tossing their doggy-do bags and garbage under it. We now have a fence :)

....what? The person who was su!cidal and committed su!cide is dead. They were likely suffering from sadness and crippling depression for a long time, so actually, being dead DOES mean they're finally free from that. That doesn't mean that it's a GOOD thing that they committed su!cide - because, as you said, their family, loved ones, and friends are left behind to eternally wonder "How could we have missed how depressed they were?" and "Was there something we could have done to save them/prevent this?" That - and my responsibility to my pets, who depend on me - is one of the few things that keeps me from attempting su!cide again.

Are your dogs healthy, up to date on shots? We were training today but hey they don’t care, go ahead and let your dogs bum rush my dog. Sorry folks I’ve now ordered some pepper spray, your dogs healthy charges mine? Getting dosed. Come on people do better.

    Tabitha

Taking your dogs off leash should be reserved for 1) highly trained dogs with excellent call back, 2) inside dog park fencing, 3) your own fenced in yard, 4) rural areas with no one else around—-and your dog has excellent callback in case of wildlife encounters. Period. I have no idea if your dogs are friendly or not. They might be, but they might decide to take a disliking to my (leashed) dog and suddenly not be friendly anymore. I don’t walk my dog, an GSD, off leash because I know she has a strong small animal prey drive and is very protective of me. It’s for everyone else’s protection for me to leave her on her leash. Even if she wasn’t a GSD, even if she was a Golden or Yorkie, she would still be leashed. Even small or otherwise laid back and docile dogs can be triggered and react badly. Better safe than sorry.

Have a friend who had to go through a series of shots last year because off-leash dog "who had never been aggressive before in his life" approached her on-leash dog. When she stepped between, off-leash bit her. Owners came and collected dog, and while she was getting first aid they disappeared with dog. This was on a vacation, so she had no idea where to locate these people, or if they were even local. Doctor advise shots in case off-leash was not vaccinated for rabies.

Does not change the fact I am on a race bike with thin tires and the dog is large it needs to be controlled I am not wanting to find out the hard way. I often walk my dog off leash, but I'm always carrying the leash. She wants to meet-and-sniff every other dog, but I always ask the other dogs' owners first. That's just basic courtesy. Some dogs just don't like (or can't handle) strange puppies in their face ... that's more likely genetic roll of the dice than any kind of improper training.

One of my dogs is terrified of puppies! No idea why, I got him when he was about three years old. Poor boy, he doesn't like adult dogs either but he's usually okay if they're smaller than him (unless a pup!). It's fear based. He tries to hide or look busy when he first sees them and if they get too close he'll act aggressively (attached to me so can't get to them). He came to me with nasty marks and scars so he's clearly had bad experiences. He also has been attacked by off-lead dogs when I've been walking him. Done my best to protect him but all my work getting him used to other dogs was completely undone.

Maybe is because I am italian, but I been thaught not to lock only the wheel because is too easy to remove and on the same time not only the frame because they will steal the wheel. The trick is lock the front tyre and the frame at the same time. The rear wheel is harder to steal (not impossible).

I use two locks. One is a chain the width of my wrist that I wind through the front wheel and the frame to the stand. The other is a U-Bar (like the one in the picture but much thicker) that I lock to my frame. If I'm going to stay longer than a few hours, I will use a third lock that I use to lock the back wheel to my frame. It's a slimmer u-bar like the one shown here. I've had my bike stolen too many times already. One time they actually cut out the bike stand from the street. On that one, I had to give them credit. Our cops don't really care about bike theft, or really anything else for that matter.

In the UK they have just decriminalised bike theft so the police won't come out and investigate if your bike is stolen.

    Gin

Not exactly. Bike theft has not been decriminalised in the UK, but the British Transport Police (BTP) has been criticized for effectively decriminalising it by no longer investigating thefts from stations if a bike has been left for over two hours. So not actually decriminalising, they just don't have the resources. More officers are being recruited, but it takes time to increase the numbers - and money. People don't want to pay more tax (I mean I genuinely can't afford to and the wealthy don't want to) but we all want crime to be investigated. Insurance isn't cheap but it's probably worth having if a bike is worth a fair bit.

It's a gym. There are people who work at the gym who are to - what's that word - manage situations like this. Communicate with them, ask them for help. They can remind this jerk about the proper rules of gym etiquette. They may have these rules posted on the walls or in the paperwork signed by new members. I worked at a gym where you'd get one warning, and then you're gone.

Illegally Parked Car So Close To My Car That I Couldn't Leave. They Got Fined

Two cars parked extremely close, almost touching, showing people apparently allergic to acting like sensible adults.

My car has an admittedly pathetic turning circle, so I genuinely could not get my car out from the two cars I was parallel parked between. I was tired and wanted to go home to my cat. I called the council, who suggested I call the police. So I called the non-emergency line and explained my situation.

The police were able to look up the registration and contact the driver of the car. They gave her 15 minutes to come remove her vehicle, and to her credit, she did so within 10. The fun part came when the constable confirmed the car was moved, and asked me to email over the photos I had taken. I was informed, to my delight, that the driver would be fined for this infraction.

AIO Ex-Wife Sold A Guitar I Gave My Daughter

Text message exchange showing a bizarre argument highlighting people allergic to acting like sensible adults.

My ex-wife (33F) and I (33M) got divorced when we were 24... 9 years ago. Since then, she has remarried and been with her new husband for almost 6 years. One of my daughters (11F) recently got into learning how to play the guitar, and because I have multiple, I gave her one of mine so she can practice when she is at her mom’s house. The guitar has a lot of sentimental value to me. I've played it at some of my friends' weddings, at a good friend's funeral, and a lot of other memories as well- including playing it for my daughter when she was an infant to get her to fall asleep. That being said, I found it kind of fitting for her to take over that guitar and start playing it herself now that she’s taken an interest in it - then today this happened. After our text convo, I called my ex-wife and learned she sold it for $350 and bought a guitar for about $150. She’s always been the money-hungry type, and I can’t help but feel like she took advantage of an opportunity to make a quick $200. She started crying on the phone, calling me an insensitive jerk, and said she didn’t like seeing it in the house because it made her too emotional. The thing is, too, my daughter was honored to get that guitar, and I know she wasn’t complaining or calling it a “hand me down”. I’m not trying to be insensitive to how she’s feeling, but I also feel like she’s using that as an excuse. Even if she was feeling any sort of way about it, why not talk to me about it first, or give me an opportunity to get the guitar back and get my daughter a different one before taking matters into her own hands? AIO, or was she out of line?

My Friend’s Building Told Her They Needed To Look For Damaged Pipes Under Her Floor. She Came Home To This

Kitchen renovation gone wrong with dirt, tools, and exposed water heater showing lack of sensible adult behavior.

My friend came home from work last night to find her apartment turned into a construction zone with zero warning. Property management told her they’d be repairing pipes under the floors, but conveniently forgot to mention they’d be ripping apart her entire kitchen and leaving it like this overnight. To make it worse, the water to her unit was shut off with no notice, making the place completely unlivable. She had to grab a bag and check into a hotel for the night. The contractors and property management clearly didn’t communicate with each other, and no one thought to inform the actual tenant. How is this even remotely okay?

Yeah, but the very LEAST you can do is inform your tenant ahead of time, nd pay for alternate accommodations for the duration of the repair. Remember, you would not make a dime if you weren’t collecting the rent they pay you. So ffs, give them a warning and help make them comfortable for the meantime. If you would want someone to extend that courtesy to you, then extend it to others, ffs.

The Roof We've Been Telling Our Landlord About For Months Finally Gave Up

Peeling ceiling paint and plaster falling on floor and bed in a room showing neglect and lack of sensible adult repair.

Some of you might say, "Why didn't you fix it?" My landlord added in all the rental contracts in the building that you can't do anything without his permission. We've been telling him for MONTHS about the situation, but he is stingy, so this is the end result of most issues with the building.

But be sure you set it up with an attorney, and put the rent money in an escrow account specifically for rent, to be paid once the landlord makes all necessary repairs—-and I would make damned sure the local building inspectors know about everything that needs to be done, and come out to take a look for themselves, even if I have to have my attorney call them for me. If the landlord is especially nasty, I would make sure the report to the inspectors is made anonymously, so I can co tiniest living there while looking for another place to live.

This would legally entitle you to a sizeable refund or to a number of months not paying rent because the landlord was negligent and you were deprived of the comforts you can expect from having a home.

Because This Pool Belongs To Them, Apparently

Group of people lounging on poolside chairs, showcasing those allergic to acting like sensible adults in a relaxed setting.

All the women in the black swimsuits on the first two rows are in a group. Took roughly 15 sunbeds, with the four in the front being completely empty when we arrived. Screamed at us when we tried to place our towels on completely empty sunbeds ("come to the pool at seven if you want anything like we did"), threw our towels at us and threw some profanities as well.

I think I've told this before. I used to live on a horse boarding facility where there was a gate across the drive about 10 feet in from the road. The gate was shut and locked at night with a sign that said No Parking. Across from the stable was a reservoir with a similar gate locked at night, but it was locked right at the road. I came home from work one night at 11pm after doing a double shift to find a car parked in front of our gate. Obviously, the owners were somewhere walking around the reservoir. They had parked their car with its nose right up at the gate and I had about 4 feet to get in past them, which wasn't enough space to not scratch up their car. Well, I stood out there for 20 minutes. I honked my horn and I yelled. Finally, I'd had enough. My truck was old and already had a ton of scratches and dings. So that night I went in through the gate and scraped the entire side of that nice, new car up, including taking off the side mirrors. Never heard a thing about it.

I do need to say, I'm mobility impaired and park in a handicap space. A small bit of shopping leaves me exhausted. 90% of the time, the cart corral is 20-30 feet away, which by then is too far. I do my absolute best to never leave the cart in a parking space or anywhere else that is in the way. Why on earth they can't or won't put a corral close to the handicap spots baffles me,

I admit to having done this, unfortunately. I am disabled, so if there isn't a handicapped space available I might have to walk some distance. I will only put it there if my breathing or heart rate becomes a concern and putting it in the right place is a struggle.

Some stores just ask for this. The cart corrals are either too far away (like every 6th row) or nonexistent. Or, like my closest large grocery store, they put plantings between each row so you can't cut through to your car or the cart corral. For a pic like this it would be helpful to include the nearest corral in the pic.

OK, I'm gonna reiterate something I said on the other cart-complaint post. If you cannot, or simply do not want to, put your cart where it belongs, then ask for a carry-out. Someone will accompany you to your car while pushing the cart for you, unload it, and take it back to the store. As a former grocery store clerk, I can assure you they'd much rather do that than have to drag the carts out of the planters or push a stack of them from the far side of the lot.

Service dogs are allowed in any public area where their handler would be allowed without them. Such as any kind of store that is open to the public. Also hotels, doctor offices, and so on. The problem is people with untrained, "emotional support" dogs also think they have these rights. My service dog is trained and is by me at all times and ignores other people.

I’m American, and was taught to tip a penny for very bad service, to tip sparingly for so-so service, and to tip generously for very good service. Basically, fit the tip to the quality of the service when using a tipped service. I never did the penny thing. My parents were Greatest Generation, so we’re tipping waitstaff long before the ludicrous reduced minimum wage for food servers was passed back in the seventies. Back when my parents were younger, wait staff made better base pay and tips were just gravy, so if they weren’t good at their jobs, they could at least pay their bills. Same goes for tipping the movers if they transported your furniture and boxes without a scratch on anything, and your mail carrier at Christmas for good service all year. A lot of service people don’t get recognized for good work, and a nice tip, whether in a card with some cash or a gift card in it or just cash handed to them after the job is done, can make them feel like someone is grateful for their hard and careful work.

As a 10 year old I was sitting next to my driving mum. I twisted the mirror to return the favor to the driver behind us. He got out of his car at the redlight, shouting at me. We told him that it was just the rearview mirror reflecting his beam. He didn't get it.

Listen, I am 64 years old, and even when I was a kid we used “they” in both its plural sense and its singular too, even when we knew someone’s gender. Using “they” instead of a gendered pronoun is NOT NEW, FFS! My friends and I were doing it fifty to sixty years ago, so I do not see what people my age or younger are suddenly upset about it. They did it themselves, believe me. Don’t let them try to tell you any different.

Tabitha, sometime in the 12th century a romantic poem was written called "Guillaume de Palerne". This poem was translated into Middle English in the middle of the 14th century, commissioned by the Earl of something or other (I don't remember), the title in English is "William of Palermo" or sometimes "William and the Werewolf". This English manuscript from the 14th century is the oldest known use of they/them to designate a singular person of unspecified gender. After 700 years, I think we'd all have gotten over it, but evidently we can't grow up and accept that "they" can refer to one person.

Yes. Someone desperately trying to avoid using 'they/them' in their proper context. If anyone tries to tell you that we don't use 'they/them' for single people, repeat this conversation: "You had a call while you were out." "Did they leave a message?" it's simple, and obviously valid.

I see you have New York tags, as a fellow resident this is illegal under NY State Law to put any item in a car windshield except official tickets. Section 375 of the NY State Vehicle and Traffic Law; "The attaching to windshields and windshield wipers of handbills and other forms of advertisements, is hereby prohibited." It is a literal crime. It further states "In any prosecution for an alleged violation of this subparagraph, there shall be a rebuttable presumption that the person whose name, telephone number, or other identifying information appears on any handbill or other form of advertisement attached or affixed to a motor vehicle shall be in violation of the provisions of this subparagraph." You call the police, get them to make a report, I know people who have done it, business gets finned per offense and you can sue them for damages like this, with the police report.

It IS a big deal, because I've got a tight schedule most of the day and I can't be bothered to go buy acetone and wipes and whatnot just because some lowlіfe thinks it's okay to dump their garbage on my windscreen, maybe even damage the wipers by doing so, and call it advertising. I get business cards from used car dealers all the time, and I'm just shy of putting a warning in my car that I will press charges for illegal waste disposal, coercion (not sure if that's the correct term in English) and damage to property against them if they put their trash on my car.

Watch Out For This Dolt Who Aggressively Cut All Of Us Ahead Of Him In Line At Costco

Man in casual outfit refueling black Mazda CX-5 at gas station, illustrating people allergic to acting like sensible adults.

This fool felt like his time was more precious than others who were in line in front of him waiting patiently for their turn. He was willing to potentially hit other people’s cars and get aggressive as he cut us all in line at the long gas line at Costco on Cabot. Absolutely unsafe.

People in general are freaking out because the other Costco gas on Heather Ridge is under construction to repair a broken underground tank. Hope it was worth it to save yourself a few minutes [jerk] I was tempted to roll down my window to join in with another very angry man in a Mercedes who cursed you out while you tried to hurry as fast as possible to pump gas and scurry away like a rat, if you had an emergency you could have rolled your window down, politely asked to go ahead of us and I’m sure people would’ve respected that. I know I would’ve.

Grow up and respect lines because if you try this BS in other cities like the one I recently moved from (Los Angeles), nothing good would come your way. I’ve seen road rage incidents start over less. Be safe out there, everyone.

TLDR: This entitled jerk disrespected everyone by cutting a long Costco gas line aggressively while almost hitting all of our cars. Got cussed out by an angry man and scurried off like a straight jerk.

I wonder if it was because nobody would drive in the lane between pumps to take the empty spot that was in front of other cars. I hate when people sit and leave an open pump because they are unwilling or afraid to go through. That said, I wouldn't take that spot unless I was second in line and the person in front of me refused to take it.

Neighbour Blocked Both My Cars In The Driveway

Suburban street at night with parked cars and autumn trees, capturing a scene of people allergic to acting like sensible adults.

Just leaves $2000 worth of work tools in the trailer and blocks my cars in… It’s just a single driveway and no way for me to get out. I just wanted some snacks after a long day of working. Called bylaw and they came out and got a hold of the owner, took him 45 minutes to move it.

If it happens more than once, it's probably someone who comes up and down your street all the time. I had people from the bar at the end of my street throw beer bottles in my yard. I started throwing them out in the street where they would break (and not in the direction I went when I left my house). It only took a couple beer bottles tossed back out in the street and they were never in my yard again. In this case, I might pick up the whole bag and toss it into the street. Let the people who put it on your property see it there. And hopefully run over it.

A tag that you attach to your rubbish bag so the city/county can keep track of the garbage you put out. Could be that there's a limit to reduce waste and if you have more than your alloted amount, you get charged more.

Here in the Poconos of PA they do this on the PA Turnpike (I-476) and 70 MPH is the going speed. They doddle alongside of each other with one doing 50 1/2 MPH and the other doing 50 1/4... UPHILL! No one in front of either one for 5 miles. They actually passed a law to prevent this but it never gets enforced.

That's more consideration than people around here give. They park in my spots all the time, with no note at all. My lot is clearly marked as reserve parking for my apartments, and my two spots are clearly marked with my apartment number. I literally pay rent for them. They slam doors into my car or even side swipe it backing out. No note. I don't understand people at all. The thing is, I'd gladly let someone use my second spot if they just asked (assuming I don't have company), but nobody has ever asked. I used to call the tow truck every time, but I gave up. Most of the time, the tow company doesn't show up anyway.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act: This federal law provides protections for used car buyers who purchase vehicles with written warranties. It requires manufacturers and dealers to honor their written warranties and can cover the consumer's attorney fees if they prevail in a lawsuit. Implied Warranty of Merchantability: This is an unwritten warranty that a vehicle should function as expected. A dealer cannot sell a car with a hidden defect that prevents it from running properly. There may be state specific "lemon laws" so check.

I would also contact Drive Time Corporate with pictures & ask them to make it right for you. If they refuse let them know you plan to send pics/videos to every influencer that focuses on advice for buying cars, buying used cars, working on cars, fixing up cars, all legal advice ones, etc. Then you will send to every state they operate in it's BBB & Motor Vehicle Commission. Those national used car sellers do not want the same stigma as local lot used car sales.

"Mentoring opportunity" and "invest in a young couple" are both what a parent is supposed to do. Sounds like the best place is the local homeless shelter. They can provide all that except the ride, which another homeless person with a car could do. They would learn a lot as a couple.

Very likely they didn't recognize that as an actual driveway, given how it looks more like a farm track than anything. Regardless, given that it's wet, they'll likely come back and deal with it later. I'm willing to bet they thought they had more time to deal with it before someone came back and had to have something removed.

My Roommate Rips Holes In Garbage Bags To "Let The Air Out" When He Puts A New One In The Can

Torn plastic bag with large hole on a white textured surface, illustrating carelessness or damage.

Most people will shake out the bag, smooth it, then put it he can. Or, you know, wait for the air to naturally go away if the bag is a little poofy in the can. Not my roommate, though, no sir. He doesn't have time for that.

From a practical point of view, people are addicted. If they’re sat waiting on friends or family in hospital, they may be there for a long time and not able to go out and buy something when they run out. Yes, it doesn’t look good and yes there should be something done about trying to get people off nicotine completely but I suspect this will be a fight your battle situation. Interesting the OP doesn’t comment about all the junk food.

Vending machines aren't known for dispensing healthy foods. Hospitals should really look into what is being sold from these machines as it may interfere with treatment given to patients.

It's worth noting that nine times out of ten, vending machines are not owned by the locations they're installed at. Rather, a vendor pays the location a kind of "rental" fee for the floor space and to cover electricity bills. What goes into the vending machines though, is entirely up to the vendor. Meaning the hospital has no say in what's inside the machines.

All the icing and toppings will now be stuck to the bottom of the bag. I don't think this comes under the category of jerks though as it could have been an accident while putting it in the bag (especially at the speed some places expect their cashiers to deal with each customer). This would only be an entitled jerk (as in the current title of the article) if the employee deliberately placed it in the bag like that, which unless they looked you in the eye while placing it carefully upside down would be unlikely...

Came Back To My Sheets And Didn’t See Them In The Dryer And Thought Someone Stole Them. Found Them In The Wash Instead

Top-loading washing machine filled with water and soaked clothes, illustrating people allergic to acting like sensible adults.

I was washing my washing my sheets today, and the way my dorm’s laundry works is the washer takes half an hour and the dryer takes an hour. I put my sheets in right after the washer was free, and I come back an hour later and some guy decided to take them out and leave them on top of the dryer so that he could put his laundry in the washer. I thought nothing of it, and I put my sheets in the dryer. As I left, I pointed out that he didn’t have to be so hasty about it. I came back another hour later, and the dryer was still running with half an hour left. I just thought that someone accidentally restarted the dryer (it happens sometimes). Come back half an hour later, and I find this. That guy decided to take my sheets out of the dryer so that he could dry his clothes. What’s worse is he put them in the wash again and ran it. Now I have to wait another hour (or more) while my sopping wet sheets dry again.

You were half an hour late getting your wash out of the washer, so the next person took it out and put it aside. Though putting it back in the washer was an a*****e move, you were the original a*****e holding up the washer then the dryer by disappearing for an hour when the wash only took 30 minutes. It’s not your own private laundry room, it’s for everyone in your building, so remember that next time and learn to be more considerate of others when it comes to shared amenities, ffs.

It makes it a lot sloppier to eat and a lot hard to divvy up.

I saw a video about this. It's actually a practical way to cut pizza.

When I was 16 years old (back in the Dark Ages of 1998) I bought my own car. It was a 1986 Mazda 323. It was more or less fully functional, but had a ton of miles on it. I paid $1,300. I used to joke all the time that my car was only four years younger than I was XD There is NO way OP is going to get a 6-8 seat van/SUV with working AC and no mechanical issues for $2000.... not unless she's willing to settle for a 1986 Ford Econoline XD (hey, if the previous owners maintained it well, it could still have working AC!)

Might exist. But more likely for $2K you're getting a 6-8 passenger minivan with 200+K miles on it, rust/dents, and certainly some problems.

1986 Ford Econoline! Or perhaps a 1985 Dodge Caravan? XD If the previous owners maintained it well, it COULD still have working AC!

The answers are out of this screen shot. But if you pick the right one, the letter associated with it is irrelevant. Also true if you pick a wrong one.

The horror! The teacher shuffled the order of answers so that people sitting near each other can't as easily cheat.

It's done this way for a reason. They're sometimes called "trick questions", but the basic idea is, in the event a student isn't actually reading through the questions, and is either cheating, or has memorized the answers (which technically itself could be cheating), by having a question where the order of the answers is reversed, it will trip up someone expecting B to be where C is.

That seems sensible if there's potential for a criminal to drive away.

They were called for neighboring house, but blocked in OP's mom. So, it is not exactly how it works.

I assume police were called for some kind of emergency. In an emergency, they don't have time to worry about how and where they park. Chances are, they won't be there for long. If they are there longer, the cars can be moved once things have calmed down a bit.

I had a neighbor who was an absolute @sshole who decided to be an @sshole at a bar one night, got followed home and was shot. The cops lined the street and I couldn't get out to go to work. I had to text a photo much like the one above to my boss.
