Sadly these are probably legal. I drive a low slung roadster and get blinded by the cars behind me if they get too close as both side mirrors and the rear view mirror direct the headlights towards me - I can dip the rear view mirror, but the not so easy with the side mirrors. The worst are SUVs as their headlights are higher - I think it needs a change in the law to make the beam range a set distance from the car rather than 2% down angle.
Yup, I used to have that too. Perfectly legal, proper adjusted headlights still blind you at a certain point, even with automatic dimming mirrors inside and out. Was a bloody annoyance.

I'll let people in on a little secret I use in situations like this. Depending on the height of your car and the other vehicle, I turn my driver side view mirror to the point where it reflects their lights back into their own face. Usually, they will move over to avoid their lights shinning back. You can also do it to the passenger side mirror if necessary. You may need some practice on getting the right placement, but totally worth it

I agree. Those effing LED headlights may be great for the driver of the car that's equipped with them, but they suck for everyone else, especially if it's raining. The road literally disappears and all you see is glare.

What is needed is safety regs that state that ALL vehicles headlights should be positioned so that they only illuminate road surface. Basically this would require that vehicles be designed so that all vehicles headlights are at the same height regardless of the type of vehicle. Cars, trucks, semi's, everything. Probably no higher than bumper height. Probably need a new type of bulb as well. Something that produces a coherent beam (like a laser only without the potential for eye damage) with little glare because there wouldn't be all that scatter at the light source.
This is one of the many reasons I cannot drive. I'd get into an accident and blinded because of overly bright LEDs.
I slow down let them pass me and then show them what high beams really look like... I follow them as long as I can for good measure...
I drive an SUV and have had someone try this with me. I barely made it to work on time but I slowed down to 40mph. In a case like this, your headlights are barely peering into the back window.

I drove taxi at night for years. We had several drivers who swore by those yellow tinted glasses. I had prescription glasses, so I couldn't afford another pair, but the drivers also said that they would stop the glare from snowstorms. Me, I always loved the snowsnakes on the road.... Anyway try some custom glasses, if you can. Might save your life!
You don't know how many times I wished my car had a huge mirror that could be flipped up to reflect that crap right back into their eyes! Vehicles with lights like those are a huge hazard to everyone else on the road!
I think, somewhere they are trying to get the brightness of LEDs used in cars and trucks lower. I've always had trouble driving at night. Apparently my irises close and open slowly. When headlights come at me or reflect in my mirrors it hurts. The LEDs used now are awful. I try to look away from the lights but it's not always doable. At least there aren't as many wonky lights like we used to see long ago. Getting headlights aligned was a regular part of car maintenance.
The headlights on newer cars are downright dangerous to oncoming drivers. They are far too bright and can even cause an oncoming driver to be unable to see what's in the road. Reflections from them, in mirrors, can be horrific.
I actually installed a Mirror on a hinge that swings down behind me with a simple tug of a rope it's amazing how fast lights either dim behind me or go out altogether.
This is like vehicles here in Denver Colorado. They love to drive at night with their fog lights on....NO fog.

Well, most new vehicles come with LED lights. Buying a new vehicle doesn't make one an "oblivious idiot"- all my vehicles came with these. Keep em aimed properly and don't tailgate. Can't tell you how many times these have warned me in time to miss the suicidal deer endemic to the region in which I live. My car has really bright headlights and everybody flashes their brights at me but my brights are even brighter. That's just how I got the car from the dealership and it has sensors and cameras in the lights because it's like a moving light that goes around corners and stuff so it's really expensive to replace. So I'm one of the people blinding everyone and I don't mean to end I don't know what I can do sorry. Blame the car manufacturers.
Some of those LED highlights take it too far. I installed some in my truck, but got about the lowest brightness you can get. No need to light up the entire highway.
I'm 68 yo, I haven't driven at night for over 15 years soon after and arsehole blinded me at night with super bright beams that stole my vision. Fortunately I wasn't driving fast so was able to pull over and wait till I could see again. Yes, these are legal, so I no longer drive at night.
Very much illegal where I live. You'll get fined if they catch you and you will be made to go change them to approved lights. And you need to take the car in for proof within a few days (I think a week, could be 1 or 2 days) or they will fine you again and will impound your car

there should be a device that measures the intensity of light exposed on to driver by these jackass bright headlight fellas. if there is an accident, check the light meter and arrest the guy with blasting headlights. I tweak my side mirrors in just a way to have it bounce back at the driver. They definitely back up from me. Or just go around. They need to make the lights go at a down angle.
I installed two big fog lights on the rear fenders of my truck. They make incredible backup lights, and if someone tries to blind me I simply flip on my "backup" lights . Luckily, lights don't bother me, but mine seem to bother them. I put them high up on the truck, so they get it in the eyes. They always dimmed, or went around me! Yeah I'm an a$$ too lol

Someone did this to an very disabled elderly neighbor when i was young (18) repeatedly, I tried talking and explaining and he just laughed EVERYTIME cos I was younger, so I got the shits one day after weeks of this and superglued paper all over his car with notes written on it from various neighbors who’d had enough of him (he also would set a home alarm when he left at 6am that would ring alllll day till 5pm but not before revving his new ute that didn’t need revving or warming up at 5.30am first, some good neighbourhood teenagers burnt that house alarm 😂 there was no reasoning with him) - he had two car ports in front of his house btw, forgot to point that out 😆

I hate people. The other day I was selling some plants because we are moving and cant take them. This couple comes almost an hour later, demands to enter my house to see my other plants (no way) and when i went inside to get them other plant they stole two from me. I only realsied after they were gone. F**k people. Stealing houseplants that i was selling for 3 euros? I wish I had told them to f**k off when they came late instead of being acomodating.

Mother is not any better. Like to sweep garden refuse to our side of the curb. Son adds beer cans to the pile. Real pigs
A couple of months back, I'm walking into the grocery store when a 60+ year-old neighbor calls with a question before revealing that he had Covid and since it was his birthday, he and his wife were going shopping before heading out to a restaurant for lunch. Guess who that guy voted for in the last presidential election?
