Colin Firth
I saw him sitting in a cafe with his son. Extremely nice, I waited until they got up to leave before I went and asked if I could get an autograph for my mom (who’s a huge fan). He asked me a few questions about her and wrote a quite nice autograph, For her. He asked if I wanted one as well and I told him that meeting him was more than enough.
I had told him where she worked and he went in the next day and made a point to stop and chat with her. Truly a class act.
Soooo handsome, and his accent, ohhh my...I would've been a babbling idiot fangirl.
I love this story! So many times you hear things about celebrities that you love and then are so disappointed. This is not the case with Colin! I’ve loved him since Pride and Predjudice!
I was lucky enough to spend 6 hours sitting next to Mr. Rogers on an airplane. I was 7. Highlight of my life.
We ate lunch. I spilled on him. I thought I had ruined everything, but he just smiled and gave me his dessert.
To a child, that would have been better than sitting next to Jesus himself.
This is legit my dads dream as a 3rd grade teacher. (It’s not weird)
I've met Obama a few times.
The charisma is insane and he makes a point to converse with everyone. He remembered me the third time, which was dope. What an incredible human
I met President Trump!! Oh wait...that was just a Cheeto I found on the floor.
He's always exuded an aura of humility and integrity. All politics aside, he is simply a GOOD HUMAN BEING,
i wouldn't mind if he is not president anymore, i would love to meet him or his wife.
Steve Irwin hands down, I've met a few musicians and athletes who have been nice but none were as nice as Steve. I met him in an elevator at a hotel and I walked in soaking wet after swimming in the pool. I was only 11 and I was in awe that I was in an elevator with Steve Irwin. Straight away he starts a conversation with me, asks me what my name is, where I'm from and if there were any crocs in the pool and if I see any at the hotel to come find him. He then starts talking to the hotel worker who was in the elevator with us and staring at Steve the whole time. That interaction with him still makes me ridiculously happy whenever I think about it.
loved that man, he truly has left a legacy, both children and his widow are also fantastic humans.
I've met a lot of celebrities and he was absolutely one of the kindest and most genuine.
You've been blessed with a happy memory to recall whenever you're down. Priceless.
I sat next to Steve once in Parliament House (Canberra, Australia) to watch then President Bush speak. Everyone was wearing suits and Steve (who was meeting the president right after) was in his trademark shorts and shirt with his wife. I said he looked me comfortable then me and he offered me a spare set of clothes from his bag and asked if he wanted to come meet the US president with him. A true gentleman, greatly missed.
Wait - but were there any crocs in the pool? I'm too invested now. I need an answer.
Never seen any crocs in my pool, only a couple of funnel webs I fish out every summer. Damn buggers are still alive too, they don't seem to drown even after a week underwater.

Having met Hugh Laurie in person, I can confidently state that he is one of the nicest and most humble celebrities out there. Not only is he completely happy to interact with his fans, but he also does so in a way that makes each and every one of them feel like they're a friend. He remembers names and personal details with amazing accuracy, and he makes each conversation seem like it's an extension of a treasured (and ongoing) dialogue. Add to that the fact that the man is outwardly hilarious, and you've got a recipe for a genuinely great guy.
Which is totally a different character from his role in "Stuart Little." He just played the father, who opened his house and welcomed a mouse into his family.
Load More Replies...Hugh is an amazing treasure of a man! Very nice and I remembered him back in the Fry & Laurie / Black Adder days!
I was primarily introduced to him from the LittleBigPlanet series, since he voices Newton in the third game.
Watching him play both English idiot Bertie Wooster, and drug addict Dr. House, I am amazed at his talent. Somehow, I'm not surprised he is a great human being, as well!
Nathan Fillion when I was working at a movie theater.
Guy bought 6 large popcorns and a bunch of smart waters when I thought, “man this guy is loaded”. He was wearing a hoodie and glasses so I couldn’t quite tell at first. I eventually said, “Hey you kinda look like this guy Nathan Fillion”
He took off his glasses and said, “I sure hope so.” I stood at attention and said, “Captain”
He replied, “As you were, Browncoat”. Coolest moment ever.
I have no idea to what characters you are referring, but it was great for you, I can tell. That's what matters.
I was in line for tickets at a small art house theater and looked at the woman behind me. Finally I asked, "Has anyone ever told you how much you look like Sigourney Weaver?" She said, "You're the first, actually." I asked, "Are you here for a special screening?" She responded, "No, just a slow afternoon and I thought I'd see a movie." I said, "I'll leave you alone. It was a privilege to meet you." She said, "If you buy a large popcorn, I'll be your friend for a couple of hours." "Butter?" "Yes, butter please." "What to drink?" "Water would be nice." Then we sat and neither of us said a word through the movie." As we were leaving, she said, "I can't go to the movies with my husband or daughter, they like to chat. Thanks for the snacks."
Gene Wilder, but there’s a story behind this...
I worked at a pharmacy in the ‘80s and was asked to deliver medicine to Gilda Radner (Gene’s wife) during her cancer battle. After a long delay to make the delivery due to issues related to the getting in touch with her doctor, I was finally given the prescription and drove up to their house to make the delivery. During my drive, I was excited at meeting one of the brightest comedy stars of the time...
When I arrived, I rang the doorbell and Gilda answered. I knew she was sick, but even I was surprised at her gaunt appearance - she did not look well at all. Immediately, I realized she was very angry because of the long delay in getting the medicine to her. Unfortunately, she let loose all that anger at me. I apologized many times (even though I had nothing to do with the delays).
After she finished and I gave her the prescription, she closed the door on me. I was not upset at her, though - indeed, I was very sad - that this brilliant comedienne was sick and was going through such an absolutely awful ordeal... This was an awful situation and not at all as I had hoped my encounter would go.
As I turned around to walk away from the door, I went several steps before I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around and it was Gene, letting me know that his wife was very sick and he apologized many times for her behavior. He then gave me a nice tip for the delivery service and shared his gratitude for the weekend delivery and work by my pharmacy.
I'll never forget the encounter and appreciate that I got to meet both of them, even for a brief time, under difficult circumstances...
To lose both of these fabulous people was devastating. Both were funny and compassionate and brought me some of my greatest "laugh moments." I miss them both.
Yes, but Gene lived to be an old man. Gilda was taken from us in her 30's -- what a waste...
Load More Replies...I love them both. I'm glad to hear that Gene Wilder was a kind person; he sure seemed like one.
Very touching story. They were wonderful people. One comment for OP: consider using fewer ellipses.
I walked by Anderson Cooper once in the west village and went "oh shit Anderson Cooper!' as I walked passed, he turned his head back towards me and smiled and winked. I'm now gay.
There isn't any other reasonable reaction to that.
Load More Replies...I don't care who you are, gay or straight, male or female. If you missed THOSE EYES set off by that beautiful crown of white, your eyes need to be checked ASAP.
I walked by John Kennedy Jr in NYC many moons ago and said, quite too loudly, to my friend, "OMG! John John!" He nturned and smiled and I died right there. I'm a ghost. Dead.
This person is almost making it sound as though he was put under some gay magic spell 😂
I worked with Anderson and he's a TERRIBLE person. Very nasty to his colleagues. But ok, he winked...
Dolly Parton, a really great hugger and genuinely sweet person. She walked into Tower Records SF while I was there putting up promotional stuff for Columbia Records, probably 1977. She grabbed me for a hug and was stoked we were exactly the same height (even though she was in heels!). She asked me some questions and it felt like it was authentic. I’ve met hundreds of celebrities, but she and Robin Williams were far and above the nicest.
She's actually a really cool person, she gave books to kids who couldn't afford them, and that was all i needed to like her. <33
she also donated $1 million for the Corona vaccine.
Load More Replies...Dolly Parton is a wonderful person, she has a book gifting program that gifts free books to children from birth to age five in participating communities within the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland. it's called the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
My all time favorite❣ My parents listened to old time country when I was growing up & I wanted to be like Dolly. She's only gotten better with age. I've heard many good things about her. A heart of Gold. My favorite thing that I respect so much as I've gotten older: she refuses to discuss her political opinions in public. She doesn't want to upset any fans. Thats awesome IMO.
I interned on a TV show in the 90s where she was a guest, and yes, can confirm. Absolutely sweet lady. I asked her if she needed water, directed her to the green room, and meanwhile, she's asking me my name, whether or not I'd had my lunch, and what school I was attending, and whether the staff and the host were nice to me (I'd only met the host once, but yes, he was very nice). And she's very tiny. I'm only 5'0" myself and she was wearing heels, but was only taller than me by 2 inches or so. I'm sure I outweighed her by 30 lbs.!
Robin Williams. Super normal, easygoing and smart. I was working the Cody’s Books booth at ComputerWorld in SF, 1981 I think, and he was hanging with Timothy Leary so I got to meet them both.
He left this world with his dignity intact and on his terms.... Only if we could all be so lucky.
Thank you for gracing our world with your talent- I bet the angels are all ROTFL!
I didn't actually meet him, but Tracy Morgan bought my younger sister an iphone many years ago. Hers broke, and his gf, now wife, at the time lost her phone at the Superbowl or something so that's why he was at the same Verizon store.
The Verizon employee said my sister's damage wasn't covered under insurance and my mom couldn't afford to buy her a new phone, and my sister I guess clearly got emotional because Tracy Morgan, who had been talking to my mom for a bit before while they were waiting (my mom and sister had NO idea who he was until my dad came in and recognized him) bought the phone for her.
My mom tried to say no but he said to just pay it forward.
"Pay it Forward" along with "The Golden Rule"... The most awesome lessons to follow.
Pay it forward is awesome, but not really a fan of the golden rule. I understand what it says, it's just not a code I live by. I prefer to treat others how THEY want to be treated, not how I'd want to be treated. Sometimes there's a difference - and I've made costly blunders when failing to recognize that. My treatment of others isn't based on my own preferences. It isn't about me or what I'd want.
Load More Replies...I love the stories from couples who run in to him and ask for a picture. He's said "yes" but they have to pose like a prom photo. They stand sideways to the camera, then he puts his arms around her from behind. Classic Prom!
Anne Hathaway.
We were backstage waiting for her cue to go on started chatting. She told me how she was such a klutz and we joked around a bit. Then, when she was called on stage she tripped hard going up the stairs and face planted, then turned around to me and we both started laughing.
She’s a sweetheart and a genuinely nice person. I’m glad I got to meet her.
I would ask what is she doing as she looks the same as when she was the princess of Genovia?
She really stole my heart when I found out how much she loves her gay brother. Then she was reminded that she was promoting a family film and said, "My brother is my family."
She is great in The Princess Diaries with Julie Andrews (I also LOVE Julie Andrews)
Stan Lee. He was my neighbor for a while, and he directly wrote me letters which I now have framed on my wall. Tom Brady wasn't great, Steven Tyler was really cool/chill, but Stan Lee was the best by far.
Wow wish I could afford to live where you live. Tom Brady is NEVER great. lol
I saw Steve Tyler on American Pickers, he seemed really nice. Stan Lee has always been my favorite.
A friend of mine met the whole band. She said Joey Kramer was a d**k, but the rest of the guys were pretty nice.

The only celebrity I've ever met is Bill Murray
He made a joke I didn't get at the time and gave me wrong directions to the Asia exhibit inside the Dallas Museum of Art
10/10 would ask Bill Murray for directions again
I met Bill, too! He was just as awesome and hilarious as you'd expect him to be.
George Takei. Bumped into a little Asian guy in a white suit on my way out of a theater, he turns around and goes "Oh myyy, I'm so sorry."
Realized why the laughter from the front row had caught my attention.
After we had credit card fraud, my husband set up an alert on his phone. Now every time there is a charge on our card we hear George's voice saying "Oh myyy".
Load More Replies...Met him, too. Almost 27 years ago I served as his interpreter at a Star Trek convention in Europe. Also took him sightseeing and to restaurants. That was a great weekend and I still have the personalized autograph he gave me.
He's known for saying "Oh Myyy!" in a very iconic way. The front row must have realized it was him.
Load More Replies...I met George on an elevator at a Star Trek convention except I didn't realize it was him at the time. He had his leg in a cast and I was talking to him all the way down to the lobby while everyone else in the elevator was just staring at him. When I got off the elevator, I held the door for him and he waved and said "See you later!" I told my husband how rude it was that everybody was staring at him just because he was in a cast. My husband asked me if I knew who he was and I said "No, he didn't tell me his name." When my husband laughed at me and told me who he was, I realized why everyone was staring. Funny side note - all weekend people kept asking George what happened to his leg and he kept giving a different story every time. He was a hoot!!
I knew of George's Star Trek fame and his LGBTQ activism, but when I learned about him growing up in an internment camp, my heart really went out to him. What a great American with an amazing life story.
Dave Chappelle and his family live a few miles from where I went to college, and he and I frequented the same Starbucks. I ran into him about ten times. One day he sat with me for about 45 minutes and talked about screenwriting. It was amazing. He’s as down to earth as his stage persona suggests, and it’s no wonder he opted to raise his family away from L.A.
That is fabulous. You know I have never understood the idea of "celebrity." To me, being exposed to a lot of people is almost as bad as catching the flu. I could never understand why people would want to be "famous." And to find out that many of them are genuinely nice, regular people is a wonder.
Alan Alda. I was at one of his book signings and I was so nervous to the point that all I could say was, “I love M* A* S* H!” And he took my hand for a second and made a joke about being surprised I knew about the show because I was young. Once I got past my absolute embarrassment, I realized he was so gracious and patient with me when he could have easily been a jerk. Great human being.
We watched every episode as it was first aired. It was the first (and almost only) TV series based on a major film that was as good as (or better than) the movie. When it began in 1972, the Viet Nam war was still going strong. I also loved him in The West Wing. We are the richer for having him in our homes so many times.
Load More Replies...I literally "ran into" Alan Alda when I was a teenager on a trip to NY. He was really nice about it! My mom and I were leaving a restaurant and I had turned around to say something to her, kept walking, and walked directly into his chest as he was coming through the door. I apologized profusely and he laughed and said it was okay. I kept walking and when we were out of ear shot my mom informed me of who he was!
As a kid, I loved that show so much, I couldn't stand to watch the final episode. Still haven't, but I did try to teach my toddlers to chant "Frank Burns eats worms".
I really miss him most as the host of Scientific American Frontiers on PBS. That was a supreme highlight of my childhood. A few episodes have made it onto youtube.
I got him to autograph my Free to Be You and Me record. He signed, "I'm so glad you felt free to be you!"
So happy to see that HULU brought M*A*S*H online for the younger generations to discover.
Still love to watch the reruns.....brilliant show......great actor.
When I had a really bad eczema flare up watching M*A*S*H was the only thing that kept my mind off the itching. Alan Alda is really crazy and funny.
I worked at a Barnes & Noble in high school. LL Cool J lived right next to it and would come in almost daily. He knew most of our names, really nice guy.
Helluva pic to post!! Hubba hubba hubba and a good person. The complete package.
My thoughts exactly..hubba hubba..that dimple..*sigh*

Jeff Goldblum. Met his wife and children as well. They were all kind and sweet. His real life persona matches the on-screen one exactly.
Bill Nye.
I was a concierge for a summer in New York City. I was working at the front desk of his building, unknowingly. Typically, residents are pretty familiar with the front desk guy and I was an unfamiliar face. He was leaving his apartment and waved quickly towards the desk as if to say bye, but then did a double take. He looked over and said “you’re new. What’s your name? I’m Bill” to which I told him “yeah I’m just here temporarily, it’s nice to meet you bill. I’m TommySalami40” he shook my hand and you said “it’s nice to meet you. I’m gonna go grab some Chinese food and come back home and finish writing my book”. And then he left and when he came back in he told me to enjoy the rest of my day. Was pretty cool to be acknowledged like that and for him to go out of his way to introduce himself to me.
oh lucky i have wanted to meet him forever bill nye the science guy was (and still is) my favorite edutainment show
I’ve met him twice. The first time, he was super nice and chatty. The second time, he was kind of a jerk to another kid there. It’s a good reminder that celebrities are like any of us and have good days and bad days, and we shouldn’t make a snap judgment based on a single (good or bad) experience with them.
Sat behind him and the cast of Almost Live when we went to see Kids in the Hall
Scarlett Johansson back in 2011 at a Starbucks.
Super sweet and really bubbly. Thought she would come across as a bitch or standoffish, partly because it was early in the morning, like 5:30-6:00 am. Not at all, she was so nice. Made her laugh after I told her I was a huge fan of one of her earliest films, Home Alone 3 (which really is one of my favorite childhood movies).
She just had this charming aura about her.
if i would meet her i'm sure i would freeze... i wouldn't know what to do, really...
By all accounts I've read, she's still just as nice as she was then. Success didn't spoil her.
I LOVE Home Alone 3.......especially Mr. Jernigan n when she hits him down there! Get that mouse, Alice! 😆
Peter Dinklage is a lot of fun! Really cool guy. His laugh is incredibly infectious
ive only ever seen him in elf and this pic took me off gaurd bc he is mad fine
Load More Replies...Peter Dinklage is great. In my humble opinion, he made 'The Game of Thrones'.
That's an enlightened opinion - he absolutely did.
Load More Replies...And there is no way of beginning to describe how he portraits Tyrion. Truly genius.
I drove Peter from the airport to the film festival where he was on the panel for his film THE STATION AGENT. I asked about the film LIVING IN OBLIVION. He said six tickets were sold to that movie. I told him I bought two of them. After the screening I drove him to his hotel and helped him move his luggage. He said, "There's a thing with food and drinks, come in." It ended up being a Director's Circle reception. He introduced me around saying, "He saw LIVING IN OBLIVION," as if it was an inside joke. I found him before I left and he said, "Are you my 10am driver?" I said I was. He said to come at 8:30 and have breakfast. He is incredibly kind.
If you're never seen them, watch both the British and American versions of Death at a Funeral. Peter plays the same but differently named character in both. Hysterical. Also highly recommend The Station Agent.
Adam Sandler. He is super nice we met him at my aunts lake house. Such a sweet guy he brought his family over and we hung out with him for like 3 hours and we just chilled. He is an amazing dude.
Watch Uncut Gems to see him in something different. He is stunningly good. And grownup.
Load More Replies...I mean...of course, he is nice? LIKE HE IS ADAM SANDLER.
My mom worked at Sony and he has a production office there so she's run into him on the lot quite a bit. He was always the nicest guy and treated everyone there the same.
I'm glad I went with friends to see him to stand-up. It's a shame that isn't a bigger part of his career anymore.
Adam Savage from Mythbusters. I met him at a White House science fair a few years back and got to talk to him for a bit. He was really nice and easy to talk to (and does actually wear the hat out and about). I told him that watching his show with my dad as a kid was part of what made me want to be an engineer and he actually got really excited about that. Just a super cool guy overall.
Obama and Bill Nye are also very nice
ADAM! I've never met him personally but I've seen him and he's a super cool staple of my childhood. I'm planning on writing him some mail telling him how much I like his work sometime.
Adam was the key note speaker at a conference I attended in Vegas. For fun I dressed as Jamie and sat in the front row (I had a big mustache too). He mentioned me and even took a photo with me. Adam-and-D...57499a.jpg
Met Weird Al at a film screening a few years ago - I've been a fan of his since I was 8 and he's legitimately an influence in my own music/comedy.
I saw him when I sat down which happened to be right in front of him. I heard him introduce himself to some older ladies who had sat next to him, just very genuine like "Hi, I'm Al!"
I turned around and said hello, said I had just seen a show at the Greek and said it was great, and said this is a great moment of my life and he cracked a joke and said something like "well I guess your life hasn't been THAT awesome!" or something like that. We took a selfie and shook hands and it was awesome.
He came into my camera store about 21years ago. I got to show him my ODD collection of cameras. Including my really wearable bowtie camera and my accordion camera that advanced the film by stretching the bellows. It was a Polish Child's Camera that had been given to me by a woman who escaped the Nazis. He refused to touch it out of respect. His silly voice left him, he took my hands and thanked me for the journey of cameras. I will never forget: "It has been an honor to meet you. A woman in the profession instead of a man. This must be a tough one.". I hugged him sooo hard and he signed my film processor. :)
He writes amazing children's books too. "When I Grow Up " was my son's favorite
Taylor Swift - met her after the 1989 show in my city. Super nice and easy to talk to, felt like we were old friends. But what was crazy was she knew the guy standing next to me just from Tumblr (this was back when she used it a lot and he ran a TSwift fan tumblr). She knew his name, knew all these personal details about him and was really excited to meet him! It was very sweet.
I don't know much about Taylor Swift's music, but I know she's in her early 30's. Soooooo.... it took me a while to realize "1989" is an album title
She just donated 13,000 dollars to two random women in need so this doesn't surprise me
I went to the Reputation one where i live after a relay/swim meet with my friends and then we went it was soo much fun. the best part was that my siblings were long in bed by the time i got home at 1 am. ;)
Luckyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I was just waiting for her to come up
I bumped into Taylor Swift (and her mum) in the bathroom of a restaurant in London. My friend (who is a big fan of Taylors) was dumb struck and just stared at her and said "Taylor, you're Beautiful", Taylor stared back and after a pause replied "you have amazing ... eyebrows", still not sure what percent sarcasm that was and I kind of love her for that
Kevin Hart
I worked retail in early 2011, and there was this guy who needed some clothes shipped to Atlanta, and I hooked him up with a surprise discount, and he was grateful. He then asked what I was doing that night, I said nothing, and the guy introduced himself "I'm Nate, I'm Kevin Hart's manager, he's performing tonight, here's my card, I'll get you in for free."
So I go that night, thinking I'm just going to go watch the show, but Nate sees me, bring to the VIP Lounge where Kevin and 2 other opening comics are drinking Ciroc & Pineapple Juice, and Kevin was the chillest dude, really nice, talked about Philly, comedy, etc., and the show was basically his 'Let Me Explain' material.
Mind you, this was early 2011, so it was right before he took off, but it was still cool.
Nice dude though!
I'm torn about him. He's made some pretty nasty remarks. Maybe people do change?
I think that the comments he made about the gay community were wrong, but it was a very long time ago and not all of us were as woke as we are now. the thing I'm more torn about for him is that he cheated on his wife, which is very problematic for me, but I think he's a genuinely good person who has made some pretty big mistakes, but a good person still.
Load More Replies...I really like him... he's awsome! (He also does a mean Snowball lol)
I knew Shaquille O'Neal in college occasionally. I wasn't associated with the athletic program at LSU but had friends who were, so I ran into him often enough to kinda-sorta get to know him.
He was a huge goofball back then too.
I met him at basketball camp in Baton Rouge. It was so cool. He would come pretty much every summer to the camp. Great guy, super sweet.
My best friend as a child knew him personally because when he was in high school his mom ran a home daycare in military housing and she and her siblings went there (her dad was in the Army at the time). He was great with the kids and I can confirm that he is a genuine good guy based on what she told me. I will never forget, I was playing at her house (I was about 9 or 10) and her dad starting yelling "Shaquille's on TV!!!". It was his rookie season and I had no idea who he was at the time, but their excitement got me excited too!
I was a tutor for the athletic department at LSU when Shaq was there. He was in a course I was the grad assistant for. I was going for drinks during a tutor session, and asked the others if anyone wanted something. He said, "Sure. A Sprite, please!". He never offered to pay for it. I was the poor grad student! He was actually quite nice anyway. I wish I had gotten him to sign something for me.
I think we can all pretty much figure out what he is talking about even through the verbal error professor.

I checked John Mulaney into a hotel room once. He wanted to pay for someone else’s room so he was at my desk for like 5 minutes while I set that up. He’s a genuinely nice guy.
Its the one thing you can replace.....

Lenny Kravitz was one of the most humble people I've met. Incredibly down to earth, laid back and friendly.
Poor guy had a MAJOR wardrobe malfunction sometime back. Let’s just say many of us have seen ALL of this man.
Load More Replies...You know, I'm not usually one to waste time being envious of others, but the fact that Lisa Bonet married two of the most beautiful human beings on the planet gives me a twinge of envy.
Lenny has always exuded a positive vibe of humility and kindness. A genuine good human being who stays out of the spotlight and focuses on what is truly important in life.
One of the first songs I can genuinely remember being obsessed with is by him.
Lenny Kravitz is one of the most beautiful humans I've seen. I was in a bar when he walked thorugh after a show. The bartender gave him a cold wet towel to wipe his face. Lenny wiped his chest and underarms, and wnet to pitch it in the garbage. The bartender begged Lenny to hand it back to her.
The directors for Hunger Games did such a good job casting him. He is amazing as Cinna. <3
Nick Jonas is extremely soft spoken and really kind. He called ahead to the restaurant I worked in at the time to book a table for his family— him, his parents, both grandmothers, younger brother, and one of his grandfathers. His younger brother was moving in to college and Nick was in town for a show, so he took them to brunch. He was incredibly kind to the staff, tipped really well, and was adorably teasing Frankie about being the kid their parents would be most proud of— Frankie is the only one of the four Jonas brothers to go to college.
Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame.
Tall as fuck, and really cheerful. I was working the front desk for Newbury Comics' corporate office and he and his assistant came in. I didn't even process the name when his assistant said it, just called back to the buyer whom Bruce was meeting. Then it hit me: "Wait. The Bruce Campbell"?
Bruce is standing to my right, looming like death. He smiles, extends a hand, laughs, and asks me my name. I made the requisite boomstick joke, and he also laughed at that.
Much better behaved than Juliette Lewis, who showed up so drunk she couldn't walk down the ramp in front of me.
He really does. Any film is all the better for having him in it.
Load More Replies...You have to watch the "Evil Dead" series and then "Bubba Ho Tep."
Load More Replies...I've met Bruce Campbell twice during his book tours. The first time was in November 2001 and the second time was on June 22, 2005, which happened to be his 47th birthday. The staff had brought him a cake and Bruce offered me the first piece. Super awesome guy!
Funny how some REALLY BIG stars are down to earth and super sweet and some that hover on the edge of fame can be awful.
I had a very different experience meeting Mr. Campbell, working as staff on one of his book tour stops. He was curt and rude to everyone, which was a letdown, since I've been a fan since Evil Dead 1. I'm glad others had better experiences.
Danny Devito. I ended up at a hotel bar in Philly with this girl I was hanging out with and her friend. Turns out the cast of Always Sunny was filming the 10th(ish?) season and staying at the hotel and hanging out downstairs. So girl’s friend flags down Danny as he’s walking by and he ends up sitting with us for a solid 2 hours. Buys us a couple rounds. And tries to invite the girl up to his hotel room. A weird turn but he also introduced us to Charlie Day so I’m calling it a win.
I have told this story on here a couple of times, but here it is again!
I used to work in an upscale hotel in West Hollywood. I was in one day when a beautiful brunette about my age, another pretty blonde woman, and an older lady who I assumed was the mother of one or both of them came in. She looked vaguely familiar, and it dawned on me that I was serving Annie from Community (Alison Brie) whose wikipedia article I had recently looked up. I glanced at their reservation. Schumerhorn. That's her real last name.
Before I even realized who she was, I noticed she must literally have a magical aura around her that makes everyone within 10 feet feel special. I got to wait on her, and she bullshitted with me like I was an old friend. By the end of the afternoon we were talking to each other in stupid accents and laughing like hyenas, and to top it all off she left a great tip and her friend told my boss what a great job I'd done. Nice to meet someone you love from a show and it turns out they're cool as f***.
I've seen Alison Brie in both Community and in Mad Men. Her two characters were so different that I thought that her role as a girlish student in Community was done some years before her very adult middle-class wife and mother in Mad Men. Impressive acting.
You should watch GLOW. Real shame it got cancelled.

Met Matthew McConaughey at a subway in Ohio when he was staying in my hometowns fancy treehouse hotel, walked up to him and was like are you Matthew mcconaughey and he’s like yeah, and I said cool, so he said you want an autograph and I said I guess, so he signed a subway napkin for me.
A former coworker of mine worked at a zip line adventure place in Ohio, and he got to meet him and his family. Said he is just as cool as you would expect
Sure has grown. Home Alone 1 n 2 are my favorites of his. I still like Richie Rich.
Pierce Brosnan. Literally bumped into me at a coffee shop in Hawaii. Could not have been more gracious.
I didn't recognize him until he sat down, and when I called my wife she begged me to go over and put him on the phone.
Of course I didn't.
I think my cousin saved his son from drowning years ago while they were both surfing on either Thanksgiving or Christmas day. I mean it wasn’t like CPR time but he (my cousin) said the guy was in trouble enough to need help and he needed a tow in. When they got back on the beach Mr. Brosnan thanked him profusely.
John Barrowman (Captain Jack in Doctor Who and Torchwood and also Malcom Merlin in Arrow) is so cool and gives amazing hugs.
He used to live in Cardiff, and apparently I missed him by 5 minutes one time when he'd been into a local Dogs Trust Shop to do some publicity for them. They said he's a really lovely guy, loves dogs, doesn't charge for publicity for them AND donates old clothes to their charity. shop.
Absolutely one million percent! Met him in Montreal at comic con and he sang happy birthday to me and called my daughter trouble (she loved it!). I taught him to swear in French. He is one of my favourite humans ever
I wouldn't see my next birthday if JB sang to me as I'd DIE on the spot!
Load More Replies...I love that this guy will just straight up go shopping at the con. Local convention, he did the Q&A panel... he was awesome (as per usual)... we're walking around after... and all the shoppers.......and my friend taps me on the shoulder "Oh. Oh. Him him... he he's famous!" - she knows exactly who John Barrowman is, but the shock of just... him **there** was so unexpected... And guess what... it's Canada... so Mr.Barrowman was NOT mobbed or harassed... he was able to - happily - simply shop and chat with people. I love it.
Vanessa Hudgens, I was walking in a breezeway and a girl introduce herself as Vanessa and started to talk to me about my job on the lot. She was very nice but I didnt catch on who she was until I remember what production was going on in the sound stage nearby. I said Vanessa Hudgens and she confirmed laughing. I apologized and told her I'm not really the type to get caught in with celebrities but she was cool with it. She appreciated that I treated her like a normal person and I'm not a crazy fan.
Except for when she suggested we should let people die from Covid.

Bam Margera. Back when Jackass was a thing and I was in middle school in about 2003 he had a signing at the local mall and my mom and I waited in line for about four hours so I could meet him. I had him sign a pair of skate shoes that I was wearing to school with the fat shoe laces that I put into a checkerboard pattern. He took about ten minutes to talk to me and compliment me on how cool that was and ask how I did it.
Meanwhile at school, all of the skateboarders made fun of me for wearing skate shoes and constantly gave me grief. Having a celebrity who I really looked up to give me such high praise saved my self esteem for the rest of middle school. Being nice is easy, but Bam Margera went above and beyond.
Stars must get so bored on press tours and to get to talk normal junk to people probably makes their day.
Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter in the MCU).
Very pleasant to talk to and may I say even more beautiful in person.
I have a friend who bumped into her too and they did that she was really funny and super kind.
Kelly Clarkson. The southern charm thing isn't an act. Coincidentally I also met the meanest celebrity the same night, Avril Lavigne.
Shout out to Blink-182 as well, in my short time working with celebrities, they were the only ones I was actually a huge fan of and they were super cool as well, Mark Hoppus especially.
EDIT: Also now that I think about it, Gym Class Heroes were super cool as well. Their singer was an especially nice guy.
i'm going to keep pretending that i didn't read the part about avril because she MADE my childhood and I can't have this happening to me
Prince Charles was pretty friendly. Would look you directly in the eye during conversation and make you feel like there was no one else in the world but the two of you - despite being constantly surrounded by others.
I see it as a case of two people who were mismatched because of out-dated rules. At the time, the heir was supposed to marry only a virgin. Which left him with a naive and sheltered teenager as one of his few options. Thank goodness that's changed.
Load More Replies...He's happily married now. Prince William (next in line for the throne) is also happily married. One story of how he met his wife: she wore a see-through dress in a school fashion show and he liked what he saw. The Royal Family had caught up with the rest of the UK and stopped giving a rat's ass about the future Mrs being pure and unsullied by normal life.

Wanya Morris one of the members of Boys 2 Men sat down on a mall bench next to me. He didnt know I recognized him. We talked about Basketball. Michael Jordan and the Bulls were 1 game away from a three-peat championship. When my mom finally came out of the Lingerie store I said to him, Well this is "The End of the Road" and I walked away. I wonder if he remembers that.
I saw Brock Lesnar in the hospital cafeteria while his wife was having a baby. He noticed me kinda staring, so he called me over and said hello. I told him my son was a big fan of his, and he replied "tell your son I'm a big fan of his!" We shook hands and I let him finish eating.
(It looked like the chair he was sitting in would crumble at any moment)
This is interesting to read as Mr. Lesnar is known to enjoy his privacy and not always entertain fans. Suppose the difference is the author of the post wasn't screaming in his face for an autograph or some such.
I rode in an elevator with Ric Flair in a hotel located in Atlanta. I was in sixth grade and really into WWE at the time. He struck up a conversation with me and complimented my sweatshirt, I think I got a picture somewhere.
I would loathe being a celebrity. Oodles of people interrupting your day, asking for things, etc. Anything short of a violent outburst and I think a celebrity has handled it well.
I agree! It takes a lot of skill and patience to be nice to all of the people who stop you everywhere you go. I would try to be nice if I was a celebrity but it would be really hard not to lose my temper.
Load More Replies...My wife, daughter and I were looking for a parking spot and I thought I saw Jacinda Ardern (Prime Minister of New Zealand) walking down the street with her husband and daughter. I casually mentioned it to my wife (thinking I was wrong about who it was). My wife looked out the window and immediately shouted "STOP THE CAR!" Luckily there was a free parking spot nearby! So I pulled over, my wife jumped out, followed by my daughter. My wife was running and calling out "Jacinda! Jacinda!". I then noticed there were, what were obviously diplomatic protection people discretely following Jacinda down the street. They looked a bit freaked out by this crazy woman running down the road screaming at the PM! But Jacinda was so cool. She stopped and waited for my wife and daughter (7yrs old) to catch up to her. She was so nice and approachable. She gave my daughter a hug as my wife took a photo of them together. We are so lucky to have such a smart and compassionate person running our country.
The woman's a rock star! This story has gained weight over the last 12 months, that's for sure.

She wanted to know about us. As she got up to get seconds from the buffet she asked if she could get anyone something.
I worked on a show with the late Madeline Kahn, and she was the same way. So down to earth.
Load More Replies...wouldn't you get a little irritated if a bunch of people were stalking you as part of your job every single day? and if you slipped up even once, it made headlines? people watch the rise and fall of celebrities for entertainment, but it's their actual life. i don't think we should judge their whole personality based on one encounter.
This whole post made me smile. We are all human and it makes me happy to see the interactions between everyday people and celebrities. ❤️
Hated Bill Clinton but he had a ridiculous amount of charisma in person. Pamela Anderson was sweet, Don Schula was a perfect gentleman as was Tom Landry. Harrison Ford was more down to earth than I expected as was Calista Flockhart. Chris Rock was in a bad mood but he didn't take it out on any of us peons- was actually very laid back and funny but, you could tell he was mad about something. Jane Fonda was a full-blown c**t, completely self-absorbed. Jennifer Lawrence was very friendly and a warm person- genuine empathy radiated from her. Arnold Schwarzenegger was beyond cool and a truly warm and caring man. Hard to believe he was so down to earth. Will Smith was very friendly but in a rush so I didn't really interact with him directly. Morgan Freeman was, BY FAR, my favorite celebrity. I mentioned I was a beekeeper and he spent about 10 minutes talking to only me about bees. He kept telling his aide(?) he was "enjoying this" (referring to talking with me. Just a truly, humble man.
Victoria Beckham and family. Served them few times in a hôtel in Monaco. The last child wasn't born yet. The kids were extremly well behaviour, David was very Nice and she was... Amazing. She waited one hour once because I was alone for the full room. She didn't want me to take her order before the other customer. She then gave me à very good tip and remebered my Name from that. And she i's insanely beautiful without make-up.
I used to be a hostess in a restaurant in Times Square and I "met" the rapper Q-Tip when I took him and his friend/date to their table (this was the late 90's). He started to ask for drinks and I said "I'm the hostess, I'll go get your server" and he did a little rap "I got the hostess with the most-ess from coast to coast". I was a tribe called Quest fan and it was one of the coolest things that ever happened. Obviously, I never forgot it :)
I'm from Wales and once met our national treasure, Michael Sheen. All I can say is what a pure, wholesome person. I was so taken aback by how genuine he is, he was more than happy to pose with my then 2 year old for a photo and spoke of his excitement for his new baby who was then due in a couple of months. This was at the homeless world Cup in 2019, which he organised and funded out of his own pocket when there were doubts about it going ahead. What a beautiful person ❤️
