For many people around the world New Zealand sounds like this mysterious land, full of spectacular natural wonders and Kiwis, which can refer to the fruit, the bird, and the people. Part of that comes, of course, from the fact that it was the set of the iconic Lord Of The Rings series, but anyone who’s ever stepped foot in the country knows that it’s way more than that.
If you haven’t had the chance to explore New Zealand yourself, you might have to do with browsing stuff online; but, since you’re already here, at least you won’t have to look too far.
Today we want to show you some things that make New Zealand special, covering everything from beautiful nature, to wonderful people, and equally as wonderful fauna, so if you’re curious to see what life there is like, wait no longer and scroll down to find some posts that sum it up best on the list below.

Think About Your Neighbour Before You Vote. Good Luck To All
Vote as if you don’t have a skin colour (only change I’d make). Wish this was at all polling stations or wherever you vote.
Same messaging republicans (or whatever version of a-holes they have in NZ) ignore from the bible. So sad that you can read down a list of basic decency, and realize that conservatives OPPOSE item for item, every objective good on said list; and there isn't a f*****g moment of self reflection. Of stopping and going, "wait, EVERYTHING I vote for is the OPPOSITE of what Jesus teaches." Anyway, awesome sign. But directed at people that enthusiastically lean in to lacking empathy. It's the perennial conservative platform and always has been. Conservatism in America is more closely aligned with sociopathy than policy.
Kiwi here. Unfortunately a lot of voters didn’t do that at the last election, but I hope they’ll remember what our current government is doing and vote them out next election.

OMG they are so cute. They look like a little kids toy that you sit on.
The Wings Of A Kea Parrot In New Zealand
Keas are ratbags! They destroyed 2 bikes, 2 kayaks, and any rubber on a car parked next to ours once. Glad our car was the boring one they didn't go for, but felt sorry for the other car owners.
Gorgeous, but these birds will steal your lunch and rip the windshield wipers off your car.
So they’re like our seagulls here in America, just a lot prettier XD
Load More Replies...According to the Tourism New Zealand website, New Zealand is a country with a history of Māori, European, Pacific Island, and Asian immigration, which is now home to roughly five million people.
Out of the aforementioned, Māori were the first to arrive in New Zealand, having made their way from Hawaiki in canoes roughly 1,000 years ago.
New Zealand's 1news Prime-Time Anchor Oriini Kaipara Wears A Traditional Face Tattoo For Māori Women
Oh I'm glad to see this positively framed, I love her moko kauae ❤️ I've seen her discussed on Facebook posts and the ignorance snd hate is staggering. From staunchly believing this is no better than a gang tattoo to people "knowing about eskimos" and asserting something over the Māori culture, I've seen it all.
Beautiful moko on a beautiful woman. Sad that ignorance is so rife. The moko has nothing to do with gangs or "eskimos" (wait, what?).

I live in a country where moslem is majority, im sorry for what you have experienced. But i also sorry that doesnt happen here, especially where i live. I hope what happened there would not make you generalise all muslim around the world.

The country consists of two main islands – the North Island and the South Island, the former of which is dominated by the Volcanic Plateau, an active volcanic and thermal area. Both of the two islands are adorned with rolling farmland, some adjacent to the mountain ranges running through the middle of the North Island and some – next to the Southern Alps in the South Island.
In addition to the two main landmasses, New Zealand reportedly has around 600 smaller islands.
A Photoshoot Of Car Crash Survivors For A New Zealand Road Safety Campaign To Demonstrate How Seat Belts Saved Their Lives
This was an extremely powerful advertising campaign to promote the wearing of seatbelts whilst driving. Seatbelt injuries heal, dying doesn't.
Thank god for Volvo (basically invented the seatbelt)
Load More Replies...This was series of shorts. These are the actual survivors and the injuries are recreations of those they received. Wear your seat belt folks.. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/OZ_5eixbhP0
The last accident I got into (30 years ago) I got my stripe too. Along with a couple broken ribs. Old man pulled out in front of me and just stopped in the middle of the road. 45mph to 0 in a few feet. Knocks the wind right out of you.
I was in a head-on crash (the other car veered into my lane) rolled over twice, landed in the ditch, and was hanging upside down in my seat belt. If I hadn't been buckled up...
All average or larger men. How about short people? They can have their heads ripped off. I wear them, but thank God that the few crashes I was in, the mechanism that yanks the shoulder belt tight didn't deploy. I'm 4'9". No auto dealer I've dealt with will address this. I can't afford a custom seat and harness, and insurance will not cover even if I did get one specially made and was in a crash. Children my height should ride in the back seat. What about child-sized drivers?
Not wearing a seat belt, or a bike helmet is considered "cool" ? Nah it's just toxic masculinity.
Some of y'all act like you have an extra body hanging in the closet.
Yes, and she's starting to smell, I'll have to replace it soon.
Load More Replies...My second boyfriend from a family my sister was very close with died very likely due to not wearing a seat belt. He was about 19 or 20. Single car crash. He went through the windshield and flew dozens of feet. His parents had to "pull the plug". So tragic. This was right around when they started making use of seatbelts mandatory in my state, but a lot of people didn't wear them y et.
I was involved in a hit and run a couple of years ago, and I was basically OK. The officer who showed up said he'd seen so much less traumatic injuries and fatalities since seat belts have been required. I had marks like this, and only a bruised shoulder. The airbag's hot gas gave me blisters on my arm, that was a surprise!
This Time It Will Be Different
This is BRILLIANT and I'm sending it to my friends immediately. Exact same thing as in Australia. So clever!
Nearly 80% of landlords in NZ own only one rental property (in addition to their family home). The reason they do this is so they can control their asset and ensure their investment for retirement is safe, unlike the sharemarket where CEOs take massive pay packets for poor results, or the government, who will change the rules on a whim and penalise those who prepare.
So many of these can also apply to the US. It's kind of comforting knowing we aren't the only ones with societal problems. ...but also kind of sad knowing we aren't the only with societal problems.
Where there's a system, there are people that will milk it to their benefit with no concern for others. It's sad.

When Your Casual Kayaking Trip Suddenly Turns Into An Indiana Jones Movie. (New Zealand)
As with most places in the world, there are countless reasons to visit New Zealand, from picturesque nature to exciting adventures and activities that the country has to offer.
But New Zealand is definitely not like many other places in the world; it’s a unique country boasting glaciers next to wonderful beaches and surf spots, in addition to incredible sites, such as the Hot Water Beach.

While marvels of nature are undoubtedly some of the main attractions for travelers, certain man-made wonders are worth paying a visit to, too. And yes, that includes the sets of Lord Of The Rings, such as the town of Hobbiton. Featured in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films, the site is expected to greet around 570,000 visitors this season, 85% of whom travel from overseas, Waikato Business News reports.

Psa In Dunedin
Apparently it's in response to a new neighbour, who moved into a area with an established farm, then proceeded to file a series of complaints about the noise, smell and indecent acts of animals during mating season.
In France, we have "Maurice Law", named after Maurice the country rooster the new neighbors wanted to silence. In short, it says: "if you buy à house In the country, don't come complaining about country noises or smells".
I wonder how annoying their neighbours had to be for them to put this up.
I remember reading about a township that started distributing scratch-&-sniff cards with the wonderful aromas of stockyards to prospective buyers.
We had one of these signs in our area also!!! It's bewildering the amount of people who move to the countryside only ro complain about...the countryside. 🤦♂️
It was the same living in Berlin, but somehow I would prefer the farm.
For those who are not big fans of the Lord Of The Rings movies, visiting the set might not look that appealing. But even they must realize that for a huge LOTR enthusiast, few things would be more enthralling than roaming the locations where the gems of the early 2000s cinema were filmed.
Luckily for them, the set is open for visitors, so immersing yourself into the world of Hobbiton is actually possible. A guided tour through the set typically includes visiting Bag End, Bagshot Row, the Millhouse, and Hobbit’s home, among other things, and allows you to catch a glimpse of the colorful Hobbit Hole doors and many more charming sights.
New Zealand’s Oldest Living Wwii Veteran Ron Hermanns (108) Standing In His Driveway, Anzac Day 2020

Perfect Response Really
That is how we say Boomer. In the days of early voice recognition we had to speak with an American accent to be understood lol

New Zealand Cuisine At It's Absolute Finest
I experienced potato chips in a sandwich (actually corn chips) for the first time just a couple of years ago. WTF? How did I reach adulthood without ever trying this amazing delicacy?
I love salt & vinegar crisps in a sandwich. Lots of butter. 😋

Ummmm me and my son here in NC in the US put potato chips, either plain or BBQ. Nothing new for us, gives the sandwich a nice crunch.

I have one and I'm in Melbourne, now I know where it came from - floated over.
I'm from Melbourne too and had completely forgotten about these mugs!

Every Day I See Americans Talk About Us Online
Yes, there are some great things about living in NZ (although Jacinda is gone now so this is old). The cost of living is not one of them. I see people from the US complaining about their fuel prices, and it is 1/4 what we pay here.
Currently (I know it's the low season) it's only double. NZ$2.62 / liter, or NZ$9.99 / gallon, or US$6.02 / gallon. Price near me in Georgia, USA is US$3.02 / gallon.

Zeeland was a province in Holland (Netherlands), the Dutch colonists used the Nova Zeeland name until the English anglicised it to New Zealand. But if you're after the first and traditional name, it's Aotearoa (hope I spelled it correctly).

I'm an Aussie and my family has finally saved enough for an NZ trip. It is such a beautiful place and I can't wait!
New Zealand has been number one on my list of places to visit for quite a while now. I don't really know enough to say I'd love to live there, but I'd love to live there (or better, to have been born there!)
I'm currently saving up to go to New Zealand next year!!! Now, how to save up enough....
The voting options at the end of this article don’t have an ‘I already live there’ option. Bored Panda writers don’t realise some of their readers live here??? 🙂
😂 But you're not on the map, it's a magic land in the long white cloud ❤️
