Not everything we see and experience can be mindblowing. You’re not going to eat the most delicious dinner you’ve ever tasted every single evening, and not every film you watch will change your life. Sometimes, we eat meals that are “pretty tasty,” and we have no problem listening to music that’s “not my favorite but not bad.” That’s how we learn to appreciate what really is amazing!

I have a new hero to look up to. I can’t imagine what it was like to be in that man’s shoes. He is showing unbelievable grace and dignity. I don’t know if I could have done the same. Those people he is guarding are an embarrassment to the human race. It makes me cringe any time I see something like these people out there. And it’s still going on. I would love to shake that man’s hand.

I've always found it odd that so many Americans are bigoted against the slaves they forced to work for them, that literally built their country for them. Same with the Chinese labourers who built the railroads, without them, the US would not be what it is today. Imagine if white Americans were kidnapped today and shipped to Africa, sold as slaves and forced to work in the mines? A little gratitude would not come amiss. They added so much to the country, albeit forced.

I used to work as a bank teller. We would occasionally get very old and rare money. I think that a lot of this type of money gets into circulation from stolen coin or bill collections. Collections are stolen then the thieves spend the money.

It's the Emergency Exit seat. You are usually asked about being able to help others in case of an emergency and the need to exit the plane quickly... If this person has never flown before, it could be a weird thing but they'll have been warned about sitting in that seat when getting their boarding ticket, surely they will have been?

I wonder which coast (if USA, or other source) and how they compare. The salt water off the beach in Florida is way more salty than the salt water off the beach here in Washington state. Presumably due to heat / evaporation in the shallows. It was similar when I was recently swimming in Bohol (Philippines). The salt water was so salty it stung your eyes and left a lot of taste in your mouth if you got some in your mouth. It's just sort of random curiosity but having swum in variations like that I'm curious how much physical difference in the salt content.

I’ve heard the word “interesting” described as a “nothing adjective” before, meaning that it doesn’t actually tell us anything about what it’s describing. It might often be used when people really meant that something was strange, confusing, impressive, offensive, disgusting, exciting, funny, etc., depending on the context. But it’s also important to keep in mind that what one person considers interesting might be incredibly boring to another person.

To all you people who have this going on and who posted here: Raynaud's syndrome can be indicative of an underlying illness, especially when severe. Please be aware of other issues that might be occurring at the same time and see a doctor. Raynaud's can be treated with medication. Yes, I have Raynaud's combined with scleroderma and Raynaud's was the first symptom when everything else hat had been slumbering in the background decided to become severe. . https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/9849-raynauds-phenomenon

I have this. Have for 20-30 years. It's embarrassing when it's cold and rainy and you run to the store and can't get your money out of your wallet because you can't feel your fingers. When they warm up they turn purple and hurt. Luckily I don't have it so bad that they start taking me piece by piece. That happened to a friend of the family. It can be very serious.

This is an unwritten rail car graffiti rule. As long as it doesn't impact the shipments, it doesn't get prosecuted.

Fast Company published a piece exploring what exactly it means to be interesting, and they pointed out that when we describe something as “interesting,” we’re probably not describing the actual thing. Instead, we’re describing our experience of seeing or doing something. “While we might describe objects as interesting, we should recognize that this is a loose, and shorthand, way to describe what’s really interesting–our experience of them,” Anisa Purbasari Horton explains, noting that we have to remember how subjective “interesting” is.

Horton also points out that, as humans, we often seek out interesting things or experiences, even if they may not be particularly pleasurable. We typically see value in doing something interesting, such as learning a new language or running a marathon, even though we might not enjoy them as much as, say, sitting at home and cuddling with our dogs.

“Interesting experiences spark the mind in a way that stimulates and lingers,” Horton writes. “They can also be easy to come by — sometimes just a sense of curiosity is needed to make an activity interesting. Look around, feel the pull, and cherish the interesting.”

I remember a nasty throat infection I got when I was around ten; had serious trouble eating solids and was stuck drinking yoghurts and eating soup with no solids in it for at least a week. My first meal after I got better was buttered white bread with cut tomatoes and salt/pepper on them (so simple, but was more exciting than just more yoghurt or more beetroot soup)!

having had to have a soft diet in hospital i can appreciate this effort. nothing is less appetizing that little globs of food on a plate. doesn't matter if it is seasoned properly and tastes decently. just makes you not want to eat at all. you eat with your eyes first.

I had to live on pureed food for seven Bloody Long years!! At least these are created to resemble the food as best as possible. Extremely beneficial for anyone with choking difficulties from neuropathies or even from a stroke, it is still considerably better than living on soup forever. I was always so damn hungry though as there's no chewing required which is part of what makes you feel full. There's a couple of UK companies home deliver these, highly nutritious, well balanced meals. I do remember one that looked like the cat had puked up biscuits 🤢 Yet that meal was incredibly tasty. If you have a relative with swallowing complications then these really make a huge difference 😊

While there are plenty of things that most of us can agree are quite interesting, we certainly don’t all agree on what grabs our attention. For example, a documentary about Ancient Rome or a nature documentary featuring deep sea creatures would not be my first choice of what to watch on any given evening. Yet my partner finds both of those things fascinating. I, on the other hand, would prefer to watch a documentary discussing cults, true crime stories or the problems with animal agriculture.

We sent a wedding invite to President George and First Lady Laura Bush in 2004 and received a lovely regrets card that is displayed in our curio with our other wedding memorabilia. Do you dread going to an event where you meet new people and inevitably have to share an interesting fact about yourself? I have a few go-to fun facts that I’m always ready to tell strangers, but once I’m in a group of people that I already know, they’ve probably heard them before and I quickly run out of ideas of anything that sounds remotely interesting.

If you’re in the same boat, have no fear. Science of People has a few ideas for how we can all become a little more interesting. And their first step, of course, is to stop doing uninteresting things. Watching Netflix, talking about the weather, and eating the same meals all the time should immediately be removed from your daily routine. You’ve got much more fascinating things to do!

Another step to becoming more interesting is to stop asking boring questions. These only lead to dull answers, so instead, you need to start asking yourself and others deeper, thought-provoking questions. Next, start consuming interesting content. Diversify your news sources, and start reading books you would not have previously picked up. Also, surround yourself with people you consider interesting. Is this useful? I’m asking from a practical standpoint as someone who has taken care of patients that have ignited their oxygen several times and are demanding to smoke around their burns. I’m not sure this is worth the considerable effort it looks like. Maybe if they put spikes on the ends to prevent use? I understand the idea. Just not convinced it actually makes sense.

Definitely Chicago. This became more commonplace when the city required repairing the old damaged side walk as part of issuing a new house permit. If you are already laying new pavement, the additional cost is not terrible, and the amount saved on shoveling (in time, $$, or back trouble) generally justifies it. If, you know, you can already afford to build a brand new house. (Edit: confirmed Chicago; found the house. Nice block.)

That is what we always recommend to our clients. And stay the F away from Dyson. Buying a Dyson is like vacuuming up money and emptying it into the garbage.

Where I’m from (eastern Canada) central vacs are pretty common, especially in new construction. I don’t think they are any more or less convenient than a regular vac as you still have to store and haul around the hose. But the often have a hole under a kitchen cabinet that you activate with your foot. That is brilliant because you can just sweep the kitchen floor into it.

the red poppy is smaller..this one is bigger and comes with more colors. It's a n ordinary pretty flower in many gardens, but even if they are close related to the sorts that's been used for Opium/ H - this garden poppy contains no oppioids,so you can't use them for d**g abuse.

It's, from time to time, quite common in Germany. Every time the government raises the tabbaco tax (or any other related tax connected to smoking) and some of the cheaper cigarette brand manufacturers can't match the cigarette box's filling volume they tape some money onto the box... it's usually not more than half a year you'll see this cash-back. Then they've adapt volume and/or box size and everything's back to "normal".

They used to do this all the time to make change if the vending machine required a certain type of coin or bill. Like: a pack of cigs is 2.75 guilders, you put in 3 guilders, got a quarter back like this. Cigarettes prices were regulated . The coin and amount I quote is wayback.

Accirding to Wiki, few places are suitable for large-scale wasabi cultivation, which is difficult even in ideal conditions. And AFAIK, only about half of planted seedlings survive to become harvestable plants.

From a commenter on OP’s post: "Browni" and "Brownie" are registred trademarks of Eti in Turkey. Other brands cannot use it. Edit: "Browni" was registred by Eti in 1986 when foreign foods weren't in Turkish market. In 2000s the biggest baked goods company of Turkey, Ülker (Owner of McVities and Godiva these days) tried to use "Brownie" for their products, but Eti won the legal battle as "Browni" is a well established brand for 20 years already. Edit 2: Brownie is not a word in Turkish. The generic name for the food is "Çikolatalı ıslak kek", moist chocolate cake in English.

It is lipids, protein and dextrose infused into a very large line typically with the tip of the IV line very close to the heart. That way there is a very large volume of blood to decrease osmolar and osmotic pressures and minimize damage to the body. This is standard for TPN. *Parenteral nutrition means feeding intravenously (through a vein). "Parenteral" means "outside of the digestive tract." Whereas enteral nutrition is delivered through a tube to your stomach or the small intestine, parenteral nutrition bypasses your entire digestive system, from mouth to a**s.19 Apr 2022*

Actually it does go into the blood very close to where the venous blood return enters the heart. Tpns provide fats, protein, dextrose dor patient nutrition and it had to be given through a large vessel to dilute the mixture upon reaching the blood stream to minimize osmolar and osmotic pressure. The military (at least in the US) is given all sorts of crazy stuff not available to civilians. A couple years ago my sister got sick. It was a bit like the flu but it was a specific illness. My dad said he had been vaccinated for it during his time in the army. A nurse on our street said it wasn’t possible, a vaccine for that didn’t exist. It did exist, it just was at available for the public.

Consumers ALWAYS are paying towards employees health insurance and any other benefits the company gives. This is just shoving it in the peoples face because the company is being a tw@t about it (probably because they're required to give health insurance by law) and want customers to be upset.

Go to a higher quality brand. Or rethink your use of them, like, are they the right tool in the first place?

These are KNIPEX, so actually pretty good. But those are for electronic wires, like 1 or 2mm. Not steel cables. Someone should tell them.

Taking animals away from their natural environment like this is very jarring to me. I understand that we have domesticated some animals like dogs for centuries to be our companions but surely humanity should have reached a level of understanding about how we should be treating all animals by now! Damit! :(

Good gawd. Anything to be 'special'.What an idiot. Poor little baby, no others to play with, no sunshine to enjoy, nowhere to run freely.

I’m not sure… it could still seep through the resin. Wear a tin foil hat to be sure

What's the point? Except denying people of a vaccine. Disgusting money grab for 20 years from now. Will be a "collector's" item. 🤢

Good. I watched a food theory about this. So sad that people had to die for this warning to be put up.
