We have similar organizations in the US. Heels for Healing raises money for victims of DV.
It's great they're supportive, but why isn't it possible to have a campaign relating to women that isn't pink and playing to gender stereotypes?

Seeing men standing against gender-based violence is very commendable. While I appreciate the gesture, I think I would've appreciated a ribbon or scarf more considering high heels themselves are violence against women.
Because I didn't know that violence-against-women existed until I saw men wearing pink heals? What really should be happening is you get to wear the pink heals if you've donated money to the charity associated wth cause.
To clarify it was part of the Hope In Heels event put on by a local women's shelter & advocacy group.

I never understood the 'violence against women' campaign. Obviously, the prevention of violence is an immensely positive cause. However, why 'violence against women'? Why not just 'violence'? I'm an advocate for the prevention of animal cruelty, not the prevention of mammal cruelty.
