Pure laziness...throw it in your trunk and drop it off, if the shelter didn't come to collect it. I hate to see waste like this when it is so easy to help *edit* glad this was found and didn't make it to the dump.

If this pet food was off a semi truck, the law prevents donation except in special cases. If pallets of pet food are damaged in transit, the damaged items are rejected by the receiver(retail store). It falls to the driver of the delivery truck to deal with it. In that situation, the pet food legally belongs to the shipper (manufacturer of the pet food). The driver calls the manufacturer to ask what to do with the damaged product. Nine times out of ten, they are told to destroy the food and send proof, usually photos of the food in the dumpster. If they don't, the driver can be charged with theft. It is absolutely stupid and wasteful, but it's a massive system flaw, not always someone being an a*****e.

That's not an Alembic it's an Aria. I think they came out in the late 80s or early 90's. Peavey made one similar to that one too. In any case, I still can't believe someone would throw something like that out.

Not an Alembic. Have a couple from the 80s, and while this bass looks a bit like an Alembic the lack of logo on the headstock and the construction of the bridge/control materials tell me that it is not.

It's either an Alembic Further, or an Aria SB1000 RI (which i found with a reverse image search, is worth $1300, and may just be a cheaper copy of the Alembic guitars) though having seen both, it doesn't seem 100% identical to either, so may be another copy. If it is an Alembic, or honestly even the Aria, it's still one heck of a score.

Old instruments (particularly student models), have a very low resale value due to the possibility of needing more work than they are worth. Example: replacing the pads and adjusting the keys on that flute may end up costing more than a new one. It's not recommended buying used instruments from private sellers unless you know what to look for damage and maintenance wise.

They're probably very poor quality "student" instruments. They're as common as dirt and there's no market for them.

I work in a music school and we take instrument donations. The number of student violins, flutes, clarinets, etc. we see come in... there isn't a market for used ones unless thy are a very valuable brand.
