Nah, sounds more like scots with the slang and use of 'Am' rather than 'I'm', and 'I done a runner'. The only remotely AUS thing here is the use of 'c**t' which is used almost universally, particularly in these types of situations.

It is from a video game called "Link's Awakening". In this game, it is possible to steal from the shop, but this action has consequences. From then on, your main character's name will be forcibly changed to Thief, so other characters will literally call you thief. The shop keeper will also kill you on sight.

Their son stole in the video game, thought he got away with it. Tried to go back into the store and was forever labeled as a thief by everyone in the game. Therefore teaching him a valuable lesson that stealing is wrong.
