So, I absolutely believe, in this case, that OP probably asked their waiter if they believed in Big Sky Daddy and his son, and the waiter was honest and said no. I long ago learned to lie to Christians when they ask me if I believe in Big Sky Daddy (I'm not even an atheist, I'm just non-religious) because they apparently feel a strong need to save my "soul" if I tell them I'm NOT Christian.
