Thanks To my Canadian cousins for having their s**t together. I believe that the only way people are going to wake up here is to experience economic hardships since the only thing that people in power care about is their cash. Hopefully they will choose to spend it on candidates that aren't out to Dunning Kreuger their way to national oblivion. Or we could seriously get our heads out of our own asses and stop believing American excellence BS as if we don't live in a world that needs cooperation.

This is sad. My mother-in-law was 3 years old when the ships exploded at Halifax and she was buried under her crib and house. The crib saved her. Her Boston father, who worked for the railroad, grabbed long trains packed with survival and tore off to Halifax to dig through his houses with his bare hands. And I have always treasured that Christmas tree we raise every year to remember that we are good friends and we would do anything for you, Canada.

Well, I remember some years ago when I lived in Canada, trying to find a Canadian made item to send to a new baby in the UK as a gift. Could I find one? No. The irony of finding a babygro with CANDA on the front and an embriodered moose on the back, with a label stating....Made in China, still rankles!

Love the sentiment but please do NOT do this. Those of working in retail--remember, we're "essential", will have to put them back and frankly we don't have the time and it goes against all the work and pride we put into have a nice store for our customers to shop. At my chain, we are actively trying to accurately inform people of products that can be be considered Made in Canada or a Product of Canada (by their technical definitions). Please look for those maple leaves and then double check the packaging. Supply chains change and it is very hard to keep up and sometimes things move around and we might miss moving the tags--we are not trying to hoodwink anyone, it it just impossible to be 100% accurate at all times. Expect more mistakes outside the regular sections/shelves as the promotional areas change frequently.

Canadians don't hate American citizens. Most of us have serious concerns with republicans though. Our economies are very heavily entwined and the current president is screwing around with agreements that *he* signed! On most fronts (outside energy, oil, lumber, and water), we know the US economy can easily buffer any action we take while it can do serious damage to ours. The president has done much worse than slap us in the face and we may be the nicest people on earth but if you p**s us off, we will end you because you interrupted our peace and dragged us into a fight we did not ask for. Keep in mind, we burnt down the WS and the Genevra Conventions were created to try and stop us from repeating some of the s**t we did in WWI. Big stick or not, I recommend you tread carefully.

This is so accurate mostly for two reasons: modern TV sets mostly have terrible built-in audio; and modern directors don't think that the audience needs to hear the dialogue. Then there's the issue of movies being badly converted from 5.1 surround sound to stereo. *AND* the other issue that cheapskate TV bosses often think programme makers don't really need proper sound engineers any more. I'm looking at you, BBC. I can follow dialogue from old films and TV shows perfectly well. Modern stuff? Much less so.
