“Sorry, We Are Sorry”: 35 Hilarious Accurate Memes That Sum Up The Country Perfectly (New Pics)
Canada is the second largest country in the world but it's very sparsely populated. Over 80% of locals live in cities and more than two-thirds are settled within about 60 miles (100 kilometers) of the southern border.
Canada is officially bilingual in English and French, which reflects its history as the place was once contested by two of Europe's great powers. Canadians also have one of the highest standards of living in the world!
Visiting the land of maple syrup is on many people's bucket list, so we decided to see what the fuss is all about and visit it through the Facebook page 'Funny Canadian Memes.' Judging from the comments under its content, this should be not only an accurate but also a humorous and delightful way to explore the country's culture and share some laughs along the way.

UK here, we play 'Am I on the road or the surface of the moon' with all the potholes that are more like craters these days. You know it is bad when local government wants to 'twin' the area with Meteor Crater
Load More Replies...This was me when I lived in Colorado. Denver was pretty spotty with the road clearing sometimes.
Spotty...meaning highways and hospitals, otherwise, nothing.
Load More Replies...I have played this game in Minnesota and Wisconsin; and in Northern California with fog.
Finland sticks these reflecting orange plastic sticks at the side of the roads. They are mainly meant for snow plowers to know where the road goes, but they also help all drivers especially in the dark. Also they are set specific distances apart (forget what the amount is) and that also serves as a reminder to keep at least that much diatance between cars.
I've played that game in New England and the Northern Midwest. It's similar to the blind leading the blind game of following the tail lights of the car ahead of you in thick fog.
Just look at the size of those paws. Their large paws act like snowshoes in the snow.
Canada shares a 5,525-mile- (8,890-km-) long border with the United States (including Alaska), and it is the longest border in the world not patrolled by military forces.
Although Canada shares many similarities with its southern neighbor—and, indeed, its popular culture and that of the United States are in many regards very similar—the differences between the two, both temperamental and material, are profound.

Load More Replies...I hold the end of the inner sleeve with the hand I'm pulling through, as I pull it through, never have a problem with this living nightmare anymore.
Same. And that's why the shirts/blouses with 3/4 sleeves are not good.
Load More Replies...Every time this happens and I try to straighten it out I look like a discount stripper.
For example, according to the 20th-century literary critic Northrop Frye, the central fact of Canadian history is the rejection of the American Revolution.
Generally speaking, modern Canadians are inclined to favor orderly central government and a sense of community over individualism, and in international affairs, they are more likely to serve the role of a peacemaker instead of a warrior.
Whether at home or abroad, they are likely to have a pluralistic way of viewing the world.
It's unlikely it broke from the cold. What happens is that it gets wet and then freezes. The mat won't break from freezing rather a person will try to remove the ice by banging it on something and then, yes, it can break like this. So, if your mat gets ice on it, just put it some place warm and dry it off. Source: Have ruined a mat before.
Ok. I don't understand this one . Pls some panda can explain to me what is this thing? Ty
It’s a door mat for wiping your feet before going inside, but it got so cold that it froze solid with ice and broke apart.

Load More Replies...Not many Picts left in Scotland either. Nor Neanderthals in Germany for that matter.
Load More Replies...Can we all agree that, basically, all colonizing societies around the globe have been total d-bags to the indigenous peoples that were there first?
lmao we we waged a war against our national bird... and lost.
Load More Replies...Argentinians (white settlers from Europe, mostly Germany and Italy) killed most of the indigenous people. Settlers from Britain persecuted Maoris until they signed a peace treaty.
We have to own this - our country failed miserably with the First Nations.
Oh goodness, we are more aware and at least starting to attempt to make changes. There are parts of Europe that need to examine their history with indigenous people, as well. Can't change anything until acknowledge what happened and the impacts (we definitely are not fully there yet)
Or more accurately, their attitudes to ward the indigenous people of their former colonies. The racism against those very people when they immigrate, refugee, or seek asylum in their former colonizers’ countries is sickening. They try to act all superior, but are no better, and in some ways are much worse, than the US.
Load More Replies...I mean who HASN'T partook in an indigenous genocide or two, am I right??? 🤗 SARCASM
Furthermore, Canadians live in a society that in most legal and official matters resembles Britain, at least in the English-speaking portion of the country.
Quebec, in particular, exhibits French adaptations: more than three-fourths of its population speaks French as their primary language.

Load More Replies...In a lot of smaller towns in Canada the largest open building is a hockey arena. We're happy cheapskates here, so why not use the stuff lying around? I live in a big city and we had our first dose in a 'convention centre' and frankly, I'd have preferred the the hockey arena.
Oddly enough, I got my first 2 rounds of Covid vaccine in a hockey rink in Kent, WA.
Statistically, other than the CN Tower and Chateau Frontenac, all buildings in Canada are hockey rinks. Or curling rinks
Even in America this is accurate. But where i live like 90% of our customers are Canadian at Walmart
Hopping across the border to get cheaper milk. We used to do that.
Load More Replies...Folks, please remember that "American" doesn't necessarily mean "of the USA." There are other countries in America, ya know.
Load More Replies...there is only summer 1, spring weather fall, and summer 2
Load More Replies...In NZ we just have one season - sumtumntering - it's like a combination of summer, autumn, winter, spring and every day is a surprise.
This is also the season list for North Carolina. Except around the fourth one add "the Great Pollening".
I've been suggesting to my friends that right after Summer, (about Labor Day) comes "Autumn", a lovely, cooler peaceful time when the leaves start to change color and the world just slows down a little - pleasant after sweaty Summer.. Then, about Thanksgiving, comes "Fall" (even the name is depressing), when the colored leaves fall all over your lawn, temperature fall, and starts the long crawl to Winter, when the snow at least lightens up the nights and we can start looking forward to Christmas.
Not if you grew up Canadian. My Dad has flawless doughnuts and drifting on snow, haha
Load More Replies...Doing donuts in the parking lot is not for fun. It's so I can learn how my car handles in the snow. That it's ridiculous fun is just a side benefit.
There are three actually. These two plus the general “can’t even drive properly on a good clear day” people… those are the worst!
For an exclamation of joy, it’s “Whee!” “Wee” is another way of saying, “small.”
I think in this case the "weee" is supposed to be the sound of tires spinning on the ice, because the driver isn't smart enough to know flooring it doesn't work that well if you have zero traction.
Load More Replies...My job: "There are no roads? it's just solid ice? That sucks, make sure you make it to work on time." 😭
Having had to get home from work on my motorbike in the snow, and having had part of my first car driving lesson on a solidly iced road, I am ok to drive on snow if it is necessary. I got from Havant to Brighton when both main roads were solid ice. Very carefully and when someone tailgated me, I put on my fog lights to encourage them to bugger off (no room to pass or pull over)
The French character in Quebec is also reflected in differences in religion, architecture, and schooling.
Elsewhere in the country, French influence is less apparent, confined largely to the dual use of French and English for place names, product labels, and road signs.
Yeah, but in Montreal, this will include a 20 degrees C swing in temperature - anywhere from -5C first thing in the morning to 17C by late afternoon, dropping back down to 0C after sunset. Conversely, I've seen students on campus schlepping through 3 cm of heavy slush in thongs/flipflops because the weather when they left for class in the morning was around 12C and sunny. Then a cold front swept in with rain/snow. You won't get that in Melbourne.
Load More Replies...When I lived in Michigan, we had that saying "don't like the weather? Just wait a minute"
But then you have to carry around the assorted layers you’ve shed until you need them again. The alternative is just sweating to death until it gets cooler. 😤
Load More Replies...Yep, butt here in the south on year in Georgia, we had winter at 5 am til 8 am, then summer from noon to 7 pm! and from 8 am to noon? It was trying to decide what to do while it melted the snow!
"I SAID LEAVE IT AT THE DOOR! NO CONTACT DELIVERY! Moose these days ugh..."
Well that's terrifying. Time to move and let him take over your home
Ehm ya. It takes forever. I have had an inch of ice on my windshield during an ice storm.
Load More Replies...The beginning of the winter is the worst, you keep forgetting to start your car ahead of time. I often don't leave myself enough time to defrost and then I'm late for everything those first few times!
I always make sure to scrape my front windshield... in a single line, horizontal at eye level. It's like driving a tank to work.
I was born and raised in Texas. This is exactly what it looks like on the rare occasion that it snows.
We had a really bad ice storm in the Round Rock/Austin area when I was in high school. School district refused to let us go home early, and the storm was only getting worse. Finally, after the principal fell and hurt himself coming out of the cafeteria, we were allowed to leave. Nothing like being 17 years old and ice-skating your car on the interstate.
Load More Replies...Can't be Canada. We know how to handle driving in the snow... I can see this in most of the US though... Guys can't handle 1cm of snow on the road without having to shut down their lives.
But what's with the first day of snow? We bavarians can drive on snow too but the first day of snowy roads the people go crazy
Load More Replies...Nah, that's Tennessee... Lived there for four years... The barest hint of snow and the entire state went berserk as if the world was ending...
Canada? Heck I thought this was the Southern US freaking out on those rare days of snow.
*old timer speaking to youngsters* "Yes, I was there in Seattle during the great snowfall of Dec. 1990. I remember being stuck downtown for 3 days and when I could finally go home on a bus, the trip took 3 hours instead of the usual 45 min. Ah, memories...."
Load More Replies...I was driving to Florida (from Ohio) when it started snowing in Georgia. It wasn't even sticking to the ground but everyone was doing 35mph on the 55 mph highway.
The French and British influences are supplemented by the cultures of the country’s Native American peoples (in Canada they are often collectively called the First Nations) and Inuit peoples, the former being far greater in number and the latter enjoying semiautonomous status in Canada’s newest territory, Nunavut.
Living in New England, I can say this is true. But look at the plow- it says "Masshole DPW" (Department of Public Works). For those who don't know, Masshole is the moniker that my other New England neighbors "affectionately" call we Massachusetts natives... just an aside.
Ah lovely New England -- we have Massholes (me), New Hamsters (friends), Maineiacs, Connneticunts, Row-DIE-Landers... 8-)
Load More Replies...Ugh, I grew up on a 4 lane highway. You have no idea how soul crushing it was to shovel the apron of the driveway only to see that truck approaching. My father would actually make me stand out in the road a bit so that it would have to go around me instead of dumping 4 tons of slush back onto the driveway entrance. Parenting was very different in the 70's. Parents were willing to sacrifice their young to avoid that mountain of slush.
It was the weirdest thing, but the most homesick moment I had after moving out of Canada was when I woke up at 3am in the winter and expected to hear the snowplow and there was complete silence. *crying*
Did anyone notice on the top of the truck it says MASSHOLE DPW!!!😂😂
Throw it back out on the road, tomorrow your mailbox is "accidentally" smashed.
This happened to my fiance over and over again, he was so determined to put an actual mailbox in front of the shared apartment house he lived in and he didn't even have anything to do with the driveway maintenance, but no matter how far back it was moved it was like they were TRYING to crush the poor little mailbox every single time 😅 there are stories of people who get so fed up with *legitimately* reckless plow drivers that they cement their things into the ground! Crazy.
Load More Replies...That snowplow is marked "Masshole," which I believe is neighbouring states' term for people from Massachusetts, so not Canada at all.
If you know the four seasons are almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction you’re probably canadian
Canadian Crocs.
ok, this one got an actual *snort* from me. One so loud I looked around to make sure no one heard me.
Ok, this is adorable. Minus the fact that they are crocs. And why the pepper ? 🤣
Interestingly, two doctoral students at McMaster University, a bit outside of Toronto, compared millions of geotagged tweets from the United States and Canada from 2015. They looked at the top 10 percent of words most likely to be used by Canadians and compared them with the top 10 percent most likely to be used by Americans.
They discovered that Canadians, true to form, are just way nicer on Twitter.
Don't forget Ryan Reynolds, Celine Dion, the Weekend and Sean Mendes!
Thank you. I nearly cried the first time I heard an American say "skating" and meant rollar blading.
Load More Replies...Don't forget Nickelback AND Justin Bieber. Thanks, Canada!
Load More Replies...Typical Canadian. Looks cute and fuzzy and polite, but will honk excessively when unhappy.

Even as a lifelong American, I have heard of Timbits!
Load More Replies...We got pulled over at the border coming back from Toronto to the States, and when customs realized all we had to declare was a Tim Horton's cup, they smiled and waved us through.
During COVID, the drive thru attendants used a hockey stick with the POS machine taped on it so they could social distance. Every drive thru has them. It was like they had some meeting and unanimously agreed that was the most Canadian solution.
Timmy's is expanding in the UK as well... There's one less than a mile from my house 😄
That's the sign on my local Mexican restaurant..............and they aren't kidding.
Load More Replies...We have a law that states if you say sorry in a car accident, you are not admitting guilt. You are just being Canadian
The most disproportionately Canadian words on Twitter were things like "amazing," "great," and "favorite." Of course, the word "agree" was on the Canadian side of things, too.
The words way more likely to show up in American tweets — some of which had to be blurred out when presenting results of the study — included "damn," "hate," "a**," and some racial slurs that shouldn't be repeated.
Mask over your butt, to prevent you from getting screwed.
Load More Replies...You can tell because we've been paying over $7/gallon for the last 4-5 years. WISH it was 2.63...
Load More Replies...I loved the Maga-Lardo. First time I've ever seen it. Thank you so much from an orange disliking American
Load More Replies...I thought he was going to kill himself because of the gasoline prices.
"And you're covered in gasoline, which I find interesting" A-Team
I would guessed that was Diesel? (The end-pipe looks wider than the gas/gasoline pump around here).
Not likely. Especially at a petro Canada. 99% of the time gas is red. Diesel is yellow.
Load More Replies...Psshhhh.... that's Montana. Winter and fire season at the same time.
This is because of those fires they had recently. The ones that affected even the US.
Load More Replies...This picture is going to give me a seizure, and not because of the fires
Why does AI have such a hard time understanding how arms & legs appear?
Also Wyoming. The year my twins started University of Wyoming we went to Freshman orientation in middle June. Now, I’m fourth generation and I should have known better didn’t pack a coat. It snowed 2 inches, went and bought a coat.
Does the lady have two arms and if so, why aren't they covered for this weather?

The entire aviation industry accounts for 2% of global emissions. Private planes account for 2-3% of aviation emissions....emissions from cars in the US, account for 5% of GLOBAL emissions (and 30% of overall US emissions) meanwhile, we're up to 400,000,000 TONNES of plastic produced per year, and FIFTY F*****G PERCENT OF IT IS SINGLE USE. Straws, bags, food packaging, beverage bottles...STFU about the paper straws. In fact, stop trying to pretend the selfish, short sighted and unnecessary collective actions of BILLIONS of people aren't significant simply because you can point to someone that is doing slightly worse then you are.
First off, there is NO reason for ANYONE to take a private plane other than for actual security reasons (Popes, presidents etc), NOT the Kartrashians, the Markles, rappers... may not be a big percentage, but every bit counts. Second, go yell at ASIA-the biggest polluters in the world.
Load More Replies...I hate that I, a disabled person who relies on straws, can no longer easily or legally access plastic straws, yet India, China, America etc are not held to account for their beyond gigantinormous emissions. Nothing I do personally will affect climate or emissions, but I am the one being punished because of course.
Yes!! It is so frustrating to see people shifting the blame toward the individual, especially without regard to disabled people, people with limited financial resources, and anyone who only has so much time and so many resources in a day to live the eco-friendly way I'm sure we ALL would love to live. The way your life has been affected is especially egregious and seems so ignorant of people with disabilities. I hope you've been able to find a safe way to replace/access the straws 💛 let me know if you want me to send a special delivery in the mail 😇
Load More Replies...The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is 0.03 %' up to 0.04%. Zero point zero four percent. If the percent would be les than 0.02% life on earth would start to die. And if anyone wants to lessen plastic use, start from yourself and your families! Dress in wool, linen and cotton, not poliester, even "recycled" one, clothes industry are biggest poluters dont eat from plastic, dont drink from plastic, go minimalist, stop consumerism.
I'd have to assume, because he's still there. I personally am not a fan.

Load More Replies...The person who commented on pollution output in China may want to visit there before commenting further. We did. China gets a lot of power from coal because they have to.
yes, lets eliminate plastic straws, but place the cardboard straw into an oversized plastic cup, with a plastic lid. Lets eliminate plastic shopping bags, that people reuse as garbage bags, and make them BUY garbage bags to use the one time only. lets waste more energy and resources in manufacturing worthless paper straws, instead of a plastic straw, which is made in one large extraction, and cut to size, instead of swirling paper upon itself and gluing it with who knows what, that we are now ingesting. Lets have the people of the country, that are struggling to put food on the table, pay exorbitant "green taxes", while the Prime Moron of Canada uses that money to fuel is private plane to go on vacation. DOES ANYBODY SEE THE HYPOCRISY OF THE SITUATION?!?!?!
Are… are there Canadian “rednecks”? Signed, an American who is genuinely curious.
Absolutely. Pretty much the same as the US, but with more snow.

Naan, I am pretty sure they keep chickens! I would keep like 5 chickens, just for the fresh eggs!
Oh my God finally! French-Canadian - Québec - culture is rich and to be respected and protected as much as any other!
Might help if you didn't ban hijabs "pour la laicite!" while leaving big f*ck-off crucifixes in government buildings.
Load More Replies...They don't seem to care for tourists. They aren't mean, it's like you are invisible. The French Canadians that headed south, after the British drove them out became Cajuns.
I lived in Chazy, a town in New York, about 50 miles south of Montreal. I never fitted in because I didn't have a French surname
Load More Replies...Montreal is a lovely city. The only thing I don't like about it is the $!@*& Habs.
Load More Replies...On my then 5 year olds first trip outside BC, we had a stop over in Calgary and she asked me why their land was "broken". The grass was brown and there were no trees in sight. We live where the grass is green almost year round and the trees tower over most buildings.
I didn't even notice the lakes - I was transfixed on that magnificent mullet.
I'd only agree if those white denims have pink details on them.
That has to be toronto - cause you could not even get that car from that much in Vancouver.
Who was it that was asking just a few entries ago about Canadian rednecks? Lol!
I would swap out the Sprite for Canada Dry (ginger ale) and you got it, but this was in the 80's when I was a kid, lol

Load More Replies...Heheh we do this as a joke in Texas. We all know that one day a year snow storm we had melted and turned into ice at 13F (-10C) in 5 minutes lol. Doesn't matter the temp, snow never lasts. Just evil ice that doesn't melt no matter what you do.
Three snowflakes fall on Atlanta, and everybody stampedes to Publix. A half meter of snow falls on just about any Canadian city, and hardly anybody notices.
Watching the dog hunt for the last patch of snow to poop on because they don't like how soggy the grass is.
For a list of Canadian memes, this one should be much higher LOL
Never heard of Zeller's until now, but just looked it up, and I can see the appeal - the "Zeddy" mascot, "Club Z," and whatever those Venture shoes are all about

Clever move. Common wall lizards are being supplanted by Ghekos here

All in favor of renaming Canada 'Canadia' to sound cooler say I.
As a Canadian, I laughed quite hard at a few of these. Well done. The Tim Hortons drive-through will be like that until the end of time. The Uber driver is spot on. Moose are basically the size of a car.

The fond memories of edmonton Halloween. Either you suffered being cool and getting frostbite or you became the jet puff marshmallow man dressed as your costume. Many are not Canadian at all. Just 80s memes or some.sort of weird right wing meme
