i'm having a very hard time explaining this to management at work. they do not understand why no one under 40 is interested in management positions or career development or things like that, and i cannot make them understand that we literally cannot see the point. the pay is not high enough to compensate for the additional work and stress and no one expects anything to improve ever. like at all. not in work. not in life. there is literally no motivation to take on more stress. we do not expect good things to happen.
