30 Times People Posted Something So Unhinged, It Deserved To Be Shamed In The “Ok, Boomer” Online Group
There’s always going to be at least some simmering tension between members of different generations. Older gens are likely to think that young people these days lack work ethic (and have awful taste in music) while the latter are likely to resent some of their seniors for being disconnected from reality and being ‘stuck’ in their ways.
You can see how different this mentality is by taking a peek at the memes different generations share. And that’s where the ‘Ok, Boomer’ Facebook group comes in. It’s an online community whose members post memes that Baby Boomers would enjoy, gently poking fun at their perspective on life. Of course, all of this is done for the sake of a bit of fun, not to be mean. Scroll down for the (un)funniest Boomer memes and upvote the ones you disliked the most. The cringe is heavy here, so watch your step, Pandas.

There are too many stereotypes on this to take anything seriously. Funny, I guess, to gullible and uncritical sorts of people who don't observe or think for themselves.
*Ahem (cough) ... Let's think about plastic, asbestos and fossil fuels. All were once herald as "miraculous" now we are all facing the fallout from these "miracle uses".
To start things off, it’s important to know which generation is which because things can get really confusing, really quickly. For instance, members of Generation X end up being called Baby Boomers. While Zoomers are referred to as Millennials (who are getting on in years and becoming more Boomerish by the year. Hi!). And members of Gen Alpha are often called Zoomers.
To put it simply, Baby Boomers were born from 1946 to 1964. So the youngest Boomers would be 59 years old in 2023 while the oldest would be 77. What followed next was Generation X, aka Gen X, those born 1965 till 1979, according to ‘Caregivers of America.’
Things get slightly murkier afterward. Millennials (aka Generation Y) followed suit, but there’s some ambiguity as to what this entails. Some say that you can consider yourself a Millennial if you were born between 1980 and 1994. Others believe that the cutoff point is ‘96.
Generation Z, Zoomers, include those born roughly between 1995 and 2012. Meanwhile, Generation Alpha includes people born between 2013 and 2025. Everyone from 2026 onward will be considered part of a new generation entirely!
It only makes sense that different generations have different values when it comes to work, life, family, and purpose. A common complaint among older generations is that young people don’t work hard enough toward their goals, lack discipline, and want results too quickly. In short (and oversimplifying things), they consider younger people entitled and presumptuous.
They’re not the only ones who are vocal, though. Millennials, Zoomers, and members of Gen Alpha are likely to point out that there’s not much point in overworking yourself when there’s nothing to aim for. Buying property is incredibly expensive, meanwhile, the cost of living is through the roof.
Younger generations aren’t fond of being told to ‘drink less coffee’ and ‘eat less avocado toast,’ as though this alone would help them save up for a house. There’s a certain level of understanding that hard work alone won’t get you everything that other generations could easily get: the global economic context matters a lot, too.
I've done all of those, plus actually rolled down a car window and had to push my own door lock when I got out. THEN, I had to wait for one of my sisters to reach over and unlock the door so I could get back in. Wild times.
Don't forget, when you're seated at the passenger side and the side mirror needs to be adjusted, you're asked to roll down the window, then you have to adjust it for them, while they're looking at it until it's correct.
Load More Replies...I am so old we had to send messangers on horseback to contact one another, only listened to music when a fair was in town, watched out the barn door once a hard days work was done, and went to a whole day standing still if we wanted a portrait of ourself... if we could afford it.
I am so old we had to send pigeons to contact one another, only listened to music when the madrigal singers didn't have the Plague, went back outside the castle walls when a hard day's work was done, and...couldn't afford a portrait at all.
Load More Replies...Rabbit ears? Honey, my black and white TV had a wire coat hanger for an antenna.
I’ve actually dimmed my car headlights by stomping on the button on the floorboard and I was also my father’s TV remote.
I have dialed a rotary phone (for fun) but have spent many hours wrapping a curly phone wired around my finger, I have listened to cassette tapes and actually owned music, I remember not being able to pause or record TV but it was always color and we had a remote, and I’ve spent many months without taking a picture of myself but only lasted a matter of weeks regarding taking a picture of my kid. I am an old millennial, but this is fun to see where boomers fall although there’s quite a bit of teasing them rather then allowing them to reminisce. My recent millennial post was more fun so I feel like this isn’t super fair.
And you were the remote control to change one of three channels for your parents.
And I can write cursive (longhand) and cook my own meals without a microwave/toaster oven/blender AND fix my own car.
That way when the power grid fails and there's no electricity we can still function. We don't become paralyzed with uncertainty at not knowing what to do without an electronic device to tell us. Good thing. But, why would the grid fail? Well, because we were so exhausted from all of our daily manual labor using this stuff, that we were too tired to develop much in the way of an alternative fuel source. We leaned heavily on the use of fossil fuels, instead. Now, it's having repercussions. I guess "Sorry" doesn't cover it, huh? But, cheer up! I'm old school, and I've got low tech skills. If the grid fails I can bake you a cake and make you some good coffee on the open campfire we'll be having to use. No worries!
Rolling down a car window while approaching a toll booth and digging for loose change in the ashtray.....
yep, done all that & more....pumped gas for 19.9 for reg. and 21.9 for premium,...in 67'....many good times, but, also enjoy computers and smartphones too...order online and am able to instantly email to my cousin in England......so many outstanding improvements today but sadly, so many downsides too....pollution, overpopulation and skyrocketing costs for just basic things...i have no solutions but hold out hope for our future generations to sort things out better than we have.! ☮
Never had an 8-track (the one in mom’s car was busted when she bought it…) but I’ve done the rest!
NO! This guy watched TV! Why doesn't he buy a film roll and project on his wall?
isnt this just participting in the technology at the time just as much as "kids these days"?
I have too and I love technology and science. So not getting the flex here
Just found out the other day that the Voyager space probe relay system utilizes, in part, 8 track tape players. Beautiful.
I have dialed on a cordless phone, listened to music off a compact disc, watched colour TV with a cable line plugged into the wall, and went a whole day without taking a picture of myself.. because I was too busy taking pictures of everyone else with my disposable camera.
Boomers parent: I’ve walked four miles to send a telegram, listened to music on a phonogram, listened to a radio bigger than a sideboard, and went through a whole actual world war without dying. What’s your point? Boomers grandparent: Right…
I don't agree with most of the posts, but I'm really enjoying it because of the vocab I'm learning. Like "rotary phone". Interesting. I don't even know it's name in my own language! I say "those old phones with the little wheel on top".
More than once I had to jack up my car with the bumper jack, then push it sideways to get it unstuck in the mud.
guess what? I'm a teen and I have done all of those, and I'm yet to take a picture of myself this month
It's 2023 now and I still go through a day without taking a Selfie. So what?
The reason you went the whole day without taking pictures of yourself is because you didn't have the opportunity to do so, unless you carried a clunky camera (with spare film) around. If boomers had smartphones, they would have behaved exactly the same.
We, GenX'ers went through that as well. I suppose we're also as cool as Snoopy, aka, Joe Cool.
I'm a millennial and I did those things too. The last thing I still do pretty much everyday.
Load More Replies...Despite sometimes tense attitudes toward one another and opinions on how to live a good life, people of all generations tend to value the same things at work. Namely, flexibility, recognition, and financial stability.
According to Forbes, referring to a LiveCareer study, all generations appreciate flexible working options: 76% of Millenials expected them, as did 69% of Zoomers, and 64% of members of Gen X.
Funny :) I looked it up. The name comes from a now mostly obsolete usage of “good” as meaning “holy”. For example the Bible was sometimes referred to as “the good book”.
Meanwhile, job prestige was valued as a priority by 64% of Gen X employees, 56% of Baby Boomers, 58% of Millennials, and 53% of Gen Z. Another study showed that everyone values pay rises very highly (91.4% of Gen X, 90.5% of Gen Y, and 87.2% of Gen Z). Everyone's expectations are more or less the same, so managers ought to know what helps motivate most of their employees, no matter their generation.
Yeah, the title was right, this type of humor is really cringe, and unfortunatly that's what my mother shares on fb 🤦♀️
Lol for context a trans person was on a singular beer advert as far as I'm aware
The ‘Ok, Boomer’ Facebook group was created 3 years ago and at the time of writing had over 64.4k members. The community’s goal is to post memes that Boomers like and to gently poke fun at them and their outlook on life by contrasting it with what the younger generations believe.
The name of the ‘Ok, Boomer’ group is a reference to a well-known meme, created in 2015, that is meant to mock Baby Boomers. According to Know Your Meme, the retort is meant to show someone’s disregard for how old-fashioned and out-of-touch Boomers can be.
If you want workers hire Gen X. We're used to having to figure things out for ourselves, being treated poorly for doing good work and being forgotten about.. like on this sign.
I'm (late boomer) only three in and am already annoyed at the attitudes of these people. Boomers aren't all bad; some of us are reasonable and non-judgemental.
Members of the ‘Ok, Boomer’ group are urged to respect one another. Political posts and discussions, for instance, aren’t allowed. If you’re planning on debating something sensitive, try to do it as civilly as possible. “This is a meme group, after all,” the team running the community points out.
Meanwhile, members are asked not to spam and not to post random, non-boomer-related content. What’s more, nobody should be sharing anyone’s personal information. And everyone’s asked not to waste the group’s time by sharing reposts.
Note: this post originally had 70 images. It’s been shortened to the top 30 images based on user votes.
Which of these Boomerlicious memes caught your eye the most, dear Pandas? Which ones made you cringe the most? Were there any that unironically made you laugh? Do you think that there will ever be a time when members of all generations get along? Share your thoughts in the comments.
BP 'Racism? The horror!', 'Misogyny? The horror', 'Homophobia? The horror!', 'Transphobia? The horror!' ?Ageism? Hey, we sure are cool with that!'
Ageism and attacks on women seem to be okay with BP. The “B” word used to be unacceptable - but now women are “Karens” so that’s okay too
Load More Replies...Some of these people are just plain ignorant and judgy, sadly not just Boomers are like this. The only difference is, that some of them are not that good with technology, which makes their posts even more cringy.
I really wish there was a ban on BP of the "This Gen V that Gen" stuff. It is divisive and the last thing this world needs is more factions of society attacking others.
Lest we forget... Boomers were a generation of people who bucked the establishment. They did everything to "stick it to the man". They were refused employment because of their hair and how they dressed. They were locked up simply for protesting. To quote the Cylons from the new Battlestar Galactica "this has all happened before, and it shall happen again". It's a cycle. The older generations lament on what the younger ones are doing when they did the exact same things. Same with my generation (gen X). We thought we were going to change the world too. One day the current generation will look at their children's children and be like "well in my day..." and the look on their faces will be priceless.
Age has a way of sneaking up on people. One day they will wake up and realize they are the same age as old people.
Load More Replies...This is just a list of conservative memes, not Boomer memes. Yet again, the rather large population of left-wing Boomers is erased.
I’m Gen X, and I'm surprised that so many people here don't know how the boomers marched for civil rights and social change. The hatred here is off the charts
As one has to keep reminding people - all of the tech that they are using to create and post this stuff originates from the likes of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Sir Tim Berners-Lee. My (boomer) generation understood video recorders and games in a way that our parents didn't; there will be things that the kids of the future understand that the current kids don't. 'Twas ever thus.
How come when someone does something wrong, stupid, or entitled, their generation’s blamed for it too? There’s plenty of jerks in every generation, and there’s plenty of nice people. Not all Gen Z people are self-centered brats. Not all boomers are entitled old people. It’s just stupid, we need to stop putting people in categories based on their age, or at the very least stop stereotyping them.
This is one of the most negative and devisive posts I've seen on BP. These controversial subjects bring out the worst in people of all demographics. Lately, it seems there are more haters joining and downvoting anyone who asks a question or expresses a traditional belief. Any reference to the Bible or morality is instantly down voted to oblivion. I read Bored Panda for amusement and entertainment and to exchange friendly comments, facts and opinions with others. I've learned a lot from this page and wish the moderators would concentrate less on censoring commonly used words and more on restricting trolls and haters.
It really feels as if the creators of this article are filled with hate.
Ignorance, too often willful, breeds generalization, and generalization breeds bigotry. That is true of all ages and generations.
I feel like this is just another opportunity to make fun of people who are older and still trying to adapt to the world we live in(which stop denying it is insane.) And I also hate all of the posts on this making fun of Christianity! It's a religion and it's really bigoted to make fun of a whole religion because some people are rude in it. Christianity changed my life for the better and including Christianity is going to make the world a more inclusive and loving space
I'm GenX, I used a rotary phone, can do math in my head, know how to read a map, had only three channels, had to learn from books in a library... but today's tech is better, today's people are generally nicer, and if you're a FTM or MTF with dyed hair and piercings I'll be proud of you every day for being true to yourself. The internet might have its flaws, but it keeps all the facist religious nutjobs in one easy to avoid place, whilst us kind, creative souls can all find each other in a way we never could. The map borders are blurring because we're just humans being. We are the future.
This list is literally just transphobia being labeled as a boomer-only thing. Just call it transphobia?
I’m horrified by the amount of blatant transphobia on this list. It’s sickening how some people seek validation by cyberbullying people just living their lives. Furthermore, their ‘justification’ is pathetic. Despite all those uneducated transphobes claiming that being trans is ‘unnatural’, gender transitioning occurs in nature all across the globe! Clownfish, Bearded Dragons, Garter Snakes and many more animals have been observed switching between sexes or living outside gender norms entirely! For anyone wanting to educate themselves, I recommend Jamiedodger on YouTube - he has a lot of videos explaining his experience as a trans man.
I think the fact that we are making fun of posts like these show how far we have come in many pets of the world. I’m happy to say that where I live, it’s a kinder place for women, LGBQTI, people of different backgrounds, etc, than it was when I was a kid.
Hmmm, guess I'm odd woman out. Boomer here. I didn't find the memes offensive, some were rather funny- the one about cursive is hilarious and true. People need to understand these lists are humorous generalizations of people who came from specific era. But, i suppose if you're looking for offensive material, you'll find it anywhere.
Gen X here, and the old people growing up despised us for being lazy and soft… But what could we say? Their generation survived the Great Depression and won WWII. Boomers hated us because our music sucked, btw
Lol boomers be angry in the comment section. Learn to take humour at your expense the way the rest of us can
