Right so your aunt who sounds like a lovely woman represent all Christian’s? No she doesn’t. How many of those crazy a*s gun loving right wing nut jobs are Christian’s? You don’t see Jews or Hindus or Muslims in the US preaching intolerance and advocating for MORE guns. It’s always some white evangelical Christian. Screw them this country would be better off without them.

@Johnny - they gave you an example, which they clearly stated was an example. They didn't say the aunt represents all Christians. I agree there is a problem with a segment of Christians in this country who don't seem terribly Christian (and by that I mean they don't seem very tolerant or gracious and don't seem to abide by some of the well-known tenets, although I'm no expert on Christianity since I'm not religious), but being a d*ck about someone's Christian aunt and calling 2.5 billion people "a joke" isn't the way to go about affecting anything for the better.

Was I a d**k about his aunt? No. I said she sounds like a wonderful person. Christianity has done more harm than good in most cases. It set western civilization back hundreds of years, it was the cause of many crusades against people who didn’t believe in Jesus. It caused the persecution of Jews. And don’t get me started on the Catholic Church. Are there good Christian’s? Of course just like there are good Muslims but to hear Christian’s tell it they are unwashed monsters. And again obviously not all but a damn good portion of Christian’s think they are right and anyone who disagrees with them is wrong and not worthy of help or compassion.

@Johnny - I didn't realize you were expressing the opinion that the aunt sounded lovely. It sounded more like you repeating Stitch's opinion in a sarcastic way, given it was in the same sentence that negated anything positive about it. Apologies for misunderstanding that part. I maintain that stereotyping all people of any religion is unhelpful in any way to address the problems of a portion of its adherents, especially when it involves such a massive percentage of the human population at a time when we're going to have to figure out how to work together if we want to save ourselves. It's interesting that, even in the same sentence in which you acknowledge that good Christians exist, you say that Christians claim Muslims are unwashed monsters, rather than that some Christians say so. You do pull back with the next sentence about a damn good portion, and I agree that a portion that seems to be large (although I don't know what percentage it really is) behaves the way you describe.

See, but those people that you mentioned don’t represent all Christians. You’re generalizing a group of people based on what they believe. Not all Christians are like that. Sure, there are Christians like that, and I acknowledge that they need to change and that they are very wrong, but you are also wrong here.

Yeah. I really do hate it when people discriminate against Christians for no reason. Like, you realize that not every single believer is like that, right? Religion is a personal choice, not a disease.

This gross injustice is done through "means testing." On paper, it sounds reasonable: those who have give to those who have not. But married spouses' incomes are combined, and unmarrieds' incomes are not, meaning any means test usually excludes most married families in most major metro areas. For instance, suppose a woman only works part-time, because she is raising kids; she'll likely qualify for low-income housing. If her children's father stays with her and contributes to rent and other costs, liberal culture would be outraged were anyone to propose what would end up being called "morality police" to make sure she goes to bed alone. But if she were to marry the kids' father, she pretty much loses all benefits. So instead of having "morality police" making sure people don't "live in sin," we have the federal government making sure working-class people don't get married.

Soooo….. in your believe, if a woman (or a girl) gets pregnant because of a crime, she of course has to keep the baby because the alternative is against god. But what to do? She is unmarried. Shall she marry the father of the child, because he is the father even though he violated her or shall she just take the first one who‘ll have her, because „obviously“ she cannot stay single with a baby, right? Do you even listen to yourself? This is misogynistic af!
