The 2000s may seem recent until you do the math. As soon as you realize it was at least a quarter of a century ago, you start to wonder where all the time went.
So instead of feeling old, we can reframe those emotions and instead think about those years as a source of sweet nostalgia. We can look back on those times with fondness, much like the feelings that these posts evoke.

However, many Gen among Gen Z were not even alive when some of these shows aired. A lot of them were infants when shows like Gossip Girl began airing and growing in popularity. What exactly drives their nostalgia for an era before their time?
As licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Holly Schiff tells Reader’s Digest, nostalgia isn’t a lived memory. Likewise, it can be culturally transmitted.

The Reader’s Digest report noted how many Gen Zers feel nostalgia for the Y2K era, in particular. According to Dr. Schiff, it’s likely driven by their desire to experience what it was like to live in a simpler time before the digital age.
“The appeal says more about current stressors and unmet needs than about the actual decade itself. It reflects what people feel is missing in the present,” she said.

A powderbox phone was actually on the market in the 2000s. It was made by Xelibri (under Siemens, if I recall well) You could choose between silver/pink or brown. The top part had a rectangular screen with a mirror around it. The bottom part had the keys placed in a circle with a tiny round mirror in the middle. I really miss the days when people were interested in original designs, smartphones look so boring.

They're used to mark the corners of the playing field and other lines in places where you can't actually draw lines like grassy areas or gymnasiums. They allow you to pick a specific field size, and they're very useful when the PE teacher wanna set different rules or have students play in small groups on several "mini" fields rather than a big one.

Not really. They're common in Europe too. A lot of schools can't afford or don't want to have several fields of different sizes for different sports and painting multiple lines on the same field can get confusing.

My current house and like every neighborhood in America still does. Electricity and even cable, or fiber still needs to be routed. This person just never lived somewhere that it was all overhead.

This was a GREAT little system. I played Mario Kart on it to no end. Doing so genuinely helped me process some trauma due to an extreme change that had recently occurred in my life.

My 6 year old niece wore almost this same dress to Xmas Eve dinner a few months ago. 😁 I thought it was adorable! All little kids look cute at the holidays with their fancy outfits.
